Thankyou for the recommendation, have you done both scoring systems before and if so how did you find them in comparision??
-
I see the AVA is based upon the BVA so essentially the same.... :D
-
Good question! I guess after using the AVA previously and following the increasing development of Pennhip I have become a little curious. I (like some others) would like to utilise it in conjuction with AVA scoring at a later date. Call it an experiement I guess :D What are your experiences with it? For which reasons would you only stick with the AVA? Is the BVA different to the AVA?

Evening all, Am looking at having my dog Pennhipped prior to planning our first breeding. We live in Nth QLD and the prices up here for anything are ridiculous. I am prepared to travel to SE QLD but need some recommendations on an experienced vet to do the job. Anyone??

I have an on/off fussy eater as well. I found firstly I was feeding too much at one meal, secondly implemented the 20mins to eat routine or wait till next meal time. I found all these strategies helped getting back on track - but coming into season is always back to square one! She never starves herself though, but dry food is not to ;) lerated full stop, she prefers raw all the way.

Congrats and best of luck for Monday! :D -
Hit the nail on the head! I am so over being harassed by little dogs that I no longer walk my streets, neither my dogs nor my kids are safe!
-
Thanks Cavnrott, I like that combination (sentinel and capstar) so might give it a go in future

I have now dosed the two older dogs who are on Sentinel, with Comfortis and they look relieved! It can't be used on puppies under 14wks so I will have to use alternate treatment on puppy. Everyone has had a wash and fleas bombs today plus yard spray. Rysup I was reading on the packet that they have not yet determined its affect on breeding males, did you have any concerns using it?
-
House and yard are treated, but we go out a lot and I believe we are bringing them home so its like a merry go round LOL! Yep that is what I belived so I won't be doubling up too much using Sentinel and Comfortis together? Anyone else do this? Thanks BMAK. Bolded bit is what I want to know... I use sentinal but we have a huge flea problem here at the moment and I am picking heaps of fleas off the dogs daily.. The house will be flea bombed tomorrow, but I need to do more as the poor dogs are going nutz with me along with them.. Can comfortis be used with sentinel?? Ok Vet advice - yes you can use both together (sentinel and comfortis) but you are doubling up on flea protection which is not ideal. It was suggested sentinel and a capstar plus environment treatment, or another avenue Interceptor and Comfortis together plus environment treatment.

Ok I know this has been probably done to death but my question could not be answered with a search. I use the Sentinel Chews for my dogs and have been very happy with it thus far, affordable, easy to use etc. BUT - we have fleas! Now I was aware that I may have to use something else to kill adult fleas as Sentinel does not so my question is should I use say Comfortis or do I go back to using a wash weekly say Fido's?? Other suggestions please, or reasons to or not to use said products. Doing the usual house, yard treatments but we go out a lot. thanks in advance!

Oh Well done!!! Its been a few years since we last saw Marj its great to see their dogs doing sooo well.

Yes indeed, preaching to the choir. This is after all, a forum for purebred dogs issues. But at the same time there is a message out there that it NOT OK to take on these pups because whilever we suckers take these pups off their hands, the demand is there for the supply to continue. Leave the givers/sellers to have 6 or 8 half grown crossbred dogs in their backyard, with no market, and they might finally get the message that what they are doing is wrong. Souff So very right Souff, the voice of reason.....

It doesn't say registered breeders........ it says 'breeders'. Hence the inverted commas..... -
Piaa Press Release On Puppy Farms
supercharged replied to Aussienot's topic in General Dog Discussion
"Registered Breeders" are not responsible for the remaining 85% -------registered are lumped in with all those wonderful BYB we come accross week after week.....sigh:( -
x 2 not worth the risk in my opinion

Which Option For Importing Would You Choose
supercharged replied to heroeswit's topic in Breeders Community
C, no questions asked -
Deposits here, refundable in certain circumstances (suitable pup not available) and non-refundable in others (change of mind) You don't need those pita people who waste your time.......

Its not just you - it seems to be catching.........I am so tired of constantly running into off lead, out of their yard dogs that I see myself less and less often walking down the street with my own dogs. Its just too dangerous, I come home anxious and upset after being chased, barked at, herded.......I am so over it!
-
When i was learning it was left foot to start off heeling, right foot if you wanted a stay....worked well for me!

Bonnie, hands down
