They can do very very well in Lure Coursing as well!

Has there been a chance in diet recently? or additional treats of a new sort etc? Or could she have gotten into something she wouldn't usually get into? - eg possum poo etc? It's occured for both my dogs and cats at various times...i don't usually worry about it unless it's something that happens a lot on an ongoing basis.

I can't seem to find them on the site as a separate item...if you email Guy he'll be able to give you the details tho? Should still be around the $10 US. I've seen them on other sites as well - got mine from a site in NZ from memory...will try and find a linky to the site

Hehehe...i think i'm going to have to squirrel away some money and lay in wait for the next special...and hope it's while the dollar is still up! Knowing my luck when i decide to order it will plummit

The dye isn't a preservative - it's usually in the pet mince to turn off people from eating it themselves....
-
It's not fair...every time the 15% off comes thru i have no money...lol. Mind you it's a great time to buy considering the Aussie dollar at the moment!!! Hmm...i wonder if he does layby... Just kidding of course

Well done Dagboy and Ebony!!!!! Congrats!!! :D ;) ;) (All Bronx wanted to do with sheep was eat them...lmao...food on the hoof and all that )

Basically that price is for 'VIP members' of that chain store only - and it is only Monday and Tuesdays...when most people work etc so it's much quieter instore. And being DIY, staff aren't doing anything out of their normal duties other then perhaps to show people how to use the hydrobaths etc. An additional cost can be charged if the staff member washes the dog for you using the DIY system/etc - but they'll only be able to do so if there is enough staff/it's quiet enough in store.

And add 'walking at night' and 'black coat' to the wriggly and hairy...well...you get the picture!
-
I love the gear i've bought from ForDogTrainers...lol...it's all been great quality and Guy is very helpful!
-
Hehe...the standard ones are great :D And if i walk both dogs on prongs my eldest wears the standard (not particularly good quality one tho) as i can put the collar on him without him moving a muscle. However my youngest however is a wriggle-butt as soon as he hears the collars move The quick release is only for my convenience But he's not a big puller/lunger anyway these days - on or off the prong :D

Cavs...perhaps take your darling pooch to your fav store who sells the Furminator...and ask if they will give you a demo on your dog and go from there? It's what i've suggested to a few people due to it being better for some coats then others
-
I know the first one i got is a HS...not 100% sure the nylon one is...tho it's listed under the HS collars tab on the site...

A little while ago i bought a good quality prong collar and it's great - it's the type with the quick release. Pic as follows But i recently saw a pic of a prong that i've not seen before... Any advice on this type collar? Just wondering how the metal clip would hold up? Anyone used one of these types before? In the near future when i have money again i'd like to get another good quality prong (one for each dog then) - just deciding what i should go for...lol - The pics are from this site - whome i've bought from before - they also do the prong covers which are a pretty cool idea! Mind you it's hard to tell either if my dogs are wearing prongs due to their coats...lol
-
It really is a try before you buy type thing huh? I know the $60 i forked out for the coat king was a bit of a waste - it's only been used once or twice. Furminator would probably work great on cats tho...lol. I had the Furminator tested on Sabre and thought great! then tried it later on Bronx and it just cut his coat So i think i'll just be sticking to the rakes...lol
-
Over my way they have DIY hydrobaths that are $10 most days ($2 on Mon/Tues if a member) that includes use of the hydrobath, shampoo and the blowdryer - with crates in the wash areas if needed. However it is do it yourself so you have to be prepared to get a bit damp
-
They do work differently...how i can't exactly tell you However i find both the coat king and the furminator cut the coat of my older GSD, but work fine on my younger GSD - both long stock coats but obviously one's coat is different to the others

He is a really really nice bloke Never had a problem with him at all. And most of the handlers i've met and dealt with in the past have also been fantastic and great with their dogs - and like/love their dogs. However there have been a small number that i wonder why they even wanted to work in the Dog Squad - let alone with dogs!. One example being the misuse of a collar - i managed to get the dog to do what i wanted it to without going to extremes as i saw it - but perhaps the handler was having a bad day and the dog was being a pig and making it worse *shrugs* I guess the temp of the dogs can make that more likely. I must admit...i just wish they had a position that i could apply for out their way. I'd give a lot to work in even slight proximity - unfortunately i don't think they have anything at the AO4 level at this point! I don't see the guys as much any more, but i kept leaving hints before

Much the same happened with me and a working beagle - can't remember if it was a Customs or Quaranteen dog tho. We were at an Opening of a place and the dog was there to show what it could do. Much like i was there with my dog and a group of others. I'd walked through - out of sight of the beagle and was watching - and i was asked to move further away. Further away waan't far enough and i was asked to move my dog to well away from the arena - so i had to crate my dog before i could go and watch. Through all this Bronx hadn't made a sound nor showed any interest to what the beagle was doing - but the beagle was apparently very interested in Bronx - which was the reason given that the beagle wasn't working properly As to QLD Police dogs...for the most part i've had no issue in regards to the dogs (seen some things happen - but as far as i was concerned it was handler error)...however some of the handlers have left a few things to be desired over the years.

Don't forget the days are getting lighter earlier...so they are more likely to wake up that bit earlier. At least my cats and one of my dogs is waking up earlier then usual. The other dog Bronx likes his sleep ins too much for light to be a bother
-
If they do heaps and you have trouble keeping weight on them...then go the energy one If they do average stuff and put on weight easily then go the normal medium breed one
-
If you can give us some details of what you require regarding hte grounds we might be able to some up with something?
-
Generally the only stores in Brissie that are likely to stock it are Pet Cafe's if they choose to do so. Perhaps give your local one a call and ask them? I think The Pet Cafe at Ashgrove stocks it.

Zinc powder...don't even have to trim back the fur and within a day or two it's gone.
