  1. Leopuppy04 that was a great run in novice agility well done, the others didin't look bad I thought they looked good
  2. Toby and I had a great time! No passes or places but I was so happy with him. We were entered in novice snooker, agility and jumping. First was snooker and I think he was having to much fun, he did the jump then the dog walk then another jump and he decided he was going to do the dog walk a couple of times before going to see what everyone else was doing. Then agility, missed the tire jump but that was my fault, he did weavers really well and got all the contacts. He didn't have a problem with the A frame. Last was jumping and he would have gotten a pass if it was not for my handleing. I was so proud of him in agility and jumping and I felt he was really paying attention to me, now I just have to really work on my handleing skills.
  3. Not long to go now so who's getting excited besides me
  4. Well if it does happen agian i'm just going to stuff the pass or title or whatever, my dog comes first above anything. I am never entering trial with that judge agian, I don't trust him to help my dog if he needs it like he did on that day.
  5. I'm looking at putting my Goldie in CCD this year too, although I've had a few people suggest maybe it's not such a good idea. Apparently in groups the dogs may not be as stable as you might be used to in say ..... novice or open. I had a go in CCD last year and pulled out after sits in groups as I had another dog stand over mine in a not-so-friendly manner. I pulled out as I didn't want to put my dog at risk in the drop. The owner of the other dog was nice enough to pull out and the judge asked me to re-enter the ring and we completed the excercise. It does make me wonder about whether we should just work on Novice or risk the same thing happening again in CCD. That happened to my goldie in novice during the sit stays. A german shepherd came over to Toby and tried to hump him. I was shocked when the judge didn't do anything about it, Toby then got abit upset and left the ring
  6. I'll be there I'm in novice agility, jumping and snooker. This is my first agility trial in a couple of years so I don't know what to expect.
  7. These are the tricks that Toby the wonder dog can do: beg, high five, give me ten, shake with both paws, roll over, spin both ways, crawl, bang your dead, find it, bow, give me cuddles, fetch (sort of) and speak (just not on command) So what can your dogs do?
  8. I think I'm still too new to it all and the addiction has bitten hard.... never been to KCC park, it takes me 2.5 hours to get to the city so I'm presuming KCC will be close to 3 to 3.5 hours by the time I find the place for k9 on the 16th. Other than that I'd have to wait til Warrnambool on the long weekend and thats just too long to wait Hi FP i'm competeing on the 16th to, although not my first time competeing at KCC park it is my first agility trial so should be interesting. Are there any other DOLers out there who will be there? I had agility training today and Toby had problems on the weave poles which kind of shocked me since he's normally really good on the weavers, and the instructer told me he's abit unfit and I had to work on his endurance so I don't think you could count these as brags but we still had fun. Hopefully in a couple of weeks i'll have a brag
  9. Hi, Are there any flyball clubs near East Gippsland in Vic?
  10. Which code of agility are you planning on entering? ANKC : If you are in Victoria (as I think you are?) it would be a good idea to phone and check that there will be 2 judges accredited to measure at that trial - this is not always the case as not all judges in Vic. are 'licensed to measure'. NADAC : You can be measured on the day, and do not have to be measured if you have nominated the top height (500) Yes i'm in Victoria, might be a silly question (im new to agility trials) who do I ring to find out about the judges?
  11. Hi was just wondering in agility does a dog need to have a height card before competeing in a trial? Toby has been measured and I have it written down but it's not official
  12. That's fair enough i'm the same when I go to trials. I'd love to do the endurance test but I think if I made Toby do it he would go looking for a new owner
  13. Hi the east gippsland test is in Sale and the place where it's gonig to be is near my house I'll have to chesk it out
  14. Are there any places like that in Victoria?
  15. We have only started growing them and we gave one to Toby to see if he liked them. He seems to really enjoy them and now he sometimes helps himself to the ones in the garden
  16. Was just wondering if tomatoes are bad for dogs, my boy Toby really likes them and is stealing them from our garden. Thanks
  17. I was thinking if it's in Geelong then I might go to check it out, but maybe another time. Anyway this is of the track but it's 6 weeks to go till Toby's and I first agility trial! can't wait
  18. Thanks everybody for your suggestions they have all been really helpfull
  19. Thanks Helen NADAC agility looks good but I think I might have to give it a miss. All the trials are abit to far away for me.
  20. I'm in Victoria. I know about the ANKC agility but have not heard about NADAC and ADAA Are they similar to ANKC agility?
  21. Hi, I was looking at a website which had all the agility organisations in the USA and couldn't beleave how many they have! ( just think of all the titles you could have ) Anyway I was wondering how many agility organisations are in Australia and what are they
  22. I'm in Victoria, located in east gippsland. I was thinking of making the equipment but thought it mite to hard because i'm not that handy, but if it's not to hard then I mite be able to give it a shot
  23. Um lets see... i hope for a CD title, only one pass to go if my dog could be bothered and maybe a JD and SD and it mite be pushing it but an AD would be nice
