  1. I wouldn't be making any deal with him about house or furniture. The dogs are a separate thing. Who is moving out? If it is you, just take the dogs with you. Then when you settle for an amount of money, the monetary value of the dogs and what has been contributed to their upkeep can be taken into account. what a horrible thing to say, the dogs were bought by both parties and are loved by both parties. So was everything else they bought as a couple. Splitting up means somebody misses out, at least until settlement. If it were my dogs I would take them with me and not leave them behind like the washing machine or fridge.

  3. It's not private property it's common property. Residents must not allow their dogs to hassle or rush at other residents on common property.
  4. Sandgrubber gave you a an estimate of different costs. The main cost is finding a property close and convenient to your customers while being far enough away from neighbours so the dogs don't disturb them. These properties don't come cheaply but it depends on what city you want to operate in. Some areas just don't allow permission for this type of business at all.
  5. Timidity is not always caused by abuse. It can be inherited. How old was this dog? I don't know that it's the 'risks involved' that deter most people from importing dogs, rather than not importing because there are so many excellent dogs available here. The people I know that import are ones that have a specific breeding plan that requires an outcross to achieve a particular goal.
  6. Yes, Mantis is going to extra lengths to avoid her dog being put in a situation. I agree with your advice Sheridan. We all like to be in control of our own dogs and who they get to meet. Mantis feels like she is losing that control when she walks out her front door. Living in a unit shouldn't mean we can't decide what circumstances we allow our dogs to interact with others. Let's help Mantis regain some control if we can.
  7. It might have been worth it for you, because in Australia you can sue to reclaim costs, and poor Moosey needed a lot of hours of nursing and vet care. Similar to how another person here was able to take legal action when her horse was injured by their product. She could recover the substantial costs she incurred in getting the horse well again. In Australia you can sue to recover all your costs. But you can't generally get a sum of money as compensation for suffering the sadness and loss of a loved companion, unless you can show how it caused financial hardship. That is why you can't always decide 'on principle' to sue. Some wrongs just cannot be righted in the civil court, it goes beyond their power. Cazstaff does need urgent legal advice, and legal support if she wants to make sure this women is held accountable for what she has done. Whether that be in the small claims court, the civil court or as a witness in the criminal court, or something else. Proper advice is needed here.
  8. It wasn't just the same picture, it was the same cropped area of a larger picture. Same pic, same name, same short time frame, and same sort of advice. Lifted mostly from other places and posted quickly with no follow up. I have no idea why. So unless somebody can enlighten me further I'm going to agree. Yep, derp, wierdo. :)
  9. Cazstaff, I feel so terrible for you. I think you would have to talk to a lawyer to see whether legal action is realistic or whether to take it to the small claims court or something. I would follow up again tomorrow with the RSPCA and the police as well. It was this person's job to look after the welfare of the dog and she was negligent, there might be criminal charges that could be laid. People working with animals have been charged in the past for actions resulting in an animal dying. I would not go to the media yet.
  10. Nothing about the lack of credibility of their expert? Where did it actually say Marie-of-the-dead-puppies was the same Marie as on the site though? Site is based in Vic, Marie is.. either from QLD or just didn't bother to change her location from the default. But did use the word "mom" so.. The profile picture of the acedogclub twitter is the same as the DOL userpic. Hrm.. I glanced through some of the articles though and it didn't really seem like her writing style. Either way, I don't think I'll be buying from that site again. Edited to add.. Although now that I think about it.. my order got sent only a day after I posted in this thread about it so.. yeah.. I googled the image used by the Marie Evans on this site and found the Google+ Marie Evans profile and the Ace Dog Club. It's a stock image. But it's since been removed from the Marie Evans profile here. So there is no link now. Nothing to prove that I'm not a loony internet stalker. But overall, a good ending to a sad thread, you got your ordered goods, and I don't think Marie Evans will post any more dead puppy stories.
  11. Facebook allows any moron to communicate easily and look like a real organisation. And to start asking for donations. I wouldn't trust any group or person based on their facebook presence. I need to know real identities and proper contact details to consider a group real. Otherwise it's just more facebook bullshit. You couldn't take it seriously.
  12. I wouldn't go to a vet that didn't allow me to walk in the front door with my dog. Back entrances at vets are for bodybags and other stuff I don't want to see. I also wouldn't be 'advising my appointment time', as the vets are responsible for knowing who they have made appointments with and when they are coming in.
  13. Yes report them. It was so wrong of them to leave a dog tied up and unattended, nobody working with animals should be allowed to get away with such negligence.
  14. I'm glad you clarified that, I was having trouble working out the links. I wonder if the real Ace Dog Supplies is aware of this 'club'? The club is merely a subdomain of the main site, so they would have to be aware of it, there is no way to create a subdomain other than through the primary domain. I don't think it is, so I'm going to email Ace Dog Supplies to ask.
  15. Well it's actually a royalty-free stock photo from istock, described as "Portrait of happy mid adult woman with her pet dog on beach. Horizontal shot." Looks like ME has now removed this pic from their profile here. ( I can't see it anymore) A search of that image is how I found that dodgy website. Most of the material is plagiarised, some of it is made up, and some of it is really unsound/cruel/dangerous. It is a bit disturbing how similar the site is to Ace Dog Supplies website. At first glance people might think it is Ace Dog Supplies. It seems that the person calling themselves ME has very recently decided to set themselves up as a fake 'expert' about dogs and has put a fair amount of effort into it. But why?
  16. Yes. I have noticed that. She never seems to post in the same thread twice. Maybe because she/he is too busy posting things here. I ordered something from them in December 2012 and it still hasn't arrived. So much for the express shipping option.. Also.. wtf at the rat poison thing.. and calling the bitch "mom". And generally being a weirdo. The link I posted appears to be very similar but not the same as the website of Ace Dog Supplies. Yes, weirdo.

  18. Exactly. You could also report him to the property manager and ask that they take action against him. He not only lets his dog run loose, but he has now threatened you as well. You are entitled to quiet enjoyment of your property. This man needs to be told to leave you alone.
  19. I think it's Ken M's little sister. Yes, I think you could be right.
  20. It is a joke. Like government sanctioned psuedoscience.
  21. Anvet kedron is highly recommended. Dr Susan Dawson is an excellent vet and very caring. Probably best not to start a new topic on raw feeding just to gather info. If you do a search there will be hundreds of posts talking about it that will contain helpful info for you.
  22. Thanks melza. Dogmad I would guess that the people doing the assessment don't have a clue about basic genetics or dog breeding if they think red noses can be passed on by only one parent.
  23. The plan is about the dog being looked after by Kiwioz and then going back to its owner after two years when she returns from overseas. Same as a boarding kennel, but in Kiwioz's home. The owner should cover the dog's expenses during this time.
