Secondary infection? the vet didn't mention anything about infections.. What are the symptoms of this?

Yeah i thought that was pretty crazy, especially when they both have the same thing.

Thanks for the advice We have just moved from Perth to the middle of nowhere on an acerage so most likely got it from here or the river a few k's away that we've been taking them to. Have done, we used MYO hospital grade disinfectant & a bit of bleach as that's all we have at the moment.

Well my two C5 vaccinated dogs have got kennel cough, Tyson and my old fella, Little Dude are both coughing like mad and little dude is throwing up every now and then. They've been to the vet, have their medication and I've got them dressed in their jumpers and both dogs are separated from the others. Brodie and Kyra seem fine and don't have any symptoms, hopefully it stays that way as today i had to fork out... 2 x vet consults - $105 2 x lots of medicine $65 each for them both to be treated Is there anything else i can do to help ease their discomfort? I was quite disappointed to hear that the C5 doesn't cover kennel cough completely, the vet we went to in Perth said dogs are fully covered by the vaccine, i was told today theres around 8 different kinds of kennel cough that they don't have a needle for yet.

Aw crap Friend took her to the vet after work yesterday and she is in fact pregnant. The dog was bought as an English Mastiff but turns out she has a bit of rottie in her. She is getting desexed. Still a mystery as to how it happened.

I have no idea when she was in season.. I got a call from her today asking whether she sounds pregnant I told her to take the dog to the vet to get checked. She just said her tummy looks like a barrel and she's eating like a horse.

I was wondering what the latest puppies can be aborted? My friends mix breed has started showing she's pregnant, the dog hasn't got out of the yard and she has no other dogs so she has no idea how it happened. She doesn't want more pups in the world so thought i'd ask here. Thanks

We have a major destruction machine here (kyra ) the dogs don't have many toys anymore because they end up scattered all over the yard, they get bones instead.

This is half the reason why so many dogs end up in pounds, BYB's selling puppies that aren't what they say they are and owners crap themselves when it gets huge I'm certainly not saying that's what you're going to do but it just really bothers me. I'm sorry to hear you got lied to but he looks like a lovely dog & I'm sure he'll bring you much joy.

Most of my dogs have skin problems and I'm just wondering what a good shampoo would be to use? Kyra & Tyson both get red itchy patches under their arms, Brodie gets red spots under his chin and my Shih Tzu gets a really horrible oily coat after about 2 days. :shakehead: Any recommendations would be good & also a rough cost and place to find it.. Thanks ;)

IMO he doesn't look pure.. he is lovely though. He looks way too big to me. ETA most staffys aren't 23kg as full grown adults, they're usually around the 16kg mark.

Just feed bones.. i don't think my dogs would let me brush their teeth anyway

My dogs wouldn't go near a chicken carcass at 8 weeks old, we just gave them chicken necks, wings and drumsticks instead. I'd definitely smash them up if you want to feed them.

Lovely pup! Kelpies have such gorgeous fat faces when they're young.. shame it doesn't stay that way ;) Good luck with him!

I wormed my first pet (cat) on a supermarket brand when i didn't know any better and after one week of him still having them i took him to the vet and they said the supermarket brand wormers are a pile of rubbish The tablets or paste from the vet work really quickly and are much better IMO. I don't feed my dogs treats from the supermarket, they either get cheese, chicken necks or bits of sausage as treats so i wouldn't have a clue
