  1. Anyone here that lives on the Gold Coast able to teach me and my dog how to do the A-frame?...I will pay I go to an agility club but im not being taugh things as fast as i want and i have a trial coming up!! Or Is there anyone around that does equipment hire?
  2. I have an (important) agility trial coming up in a few weeks time which will be mine and my dogs first ever trial. I was wondering if I should do a "practise" trial a week or two before this so im not as nervous and know what im up for and can prepare more. Anyone ever done this before or recommend it?
  3. Anyone know where the is one??? I have tried the hydrobaths at the car washes but you cant use your own shampoo ??
  4. I think Socialisation is something that is VERY important as a puppy....i think you need to allow a puppy to be a puppy. I think socialisation can start coming to a minimum only if you decide to start participating in dog sports such as obedience and agility etc JMO. I dont think off leash dog parks are a good way to socialise a dog - why you ask? Most dogs are under NO CONTROL whatso ever.
  5. Thanks Ness Yeh very good. I just did that clip in my tiny backyard to load up onto dogzonline to show. Heres a clip when we were just on the 4 poles. Most obstacles I set up I do the entry from the off side. Heres another: Here is when we were training off side entry with 2 x 2: The only problem I am facing, thats a worry to me at the moment is sometimes he isnt as fast as I'd like him to be. He is only quick the first 2 times I do it, if I try it again he slows down. Dont realy know how to fix this?
  6. here's my clip: He is alittle bit retarded with his steps but we are getting there
  7. Hi JulesP! My dog is going great with his weaves now. We can now do six in a row from all directions...we are now waiting on our other 6 to be made! My dog is like yours, he prefers being given direction. I first started with free shaping but went onto giving the command of "weave" after 4 poles, to me the 2 x 2 was only done to improve his entries and the free shaping was making him slow and unsure of himself. People at my agility club dont agree with my method and think I shouldnt be giving any commands (like in the DVD) but it is working so much better for us and he now drives through them happier knowning that ive commanded him and he is doing it. I dont think its about doing EXACTLY what the DVD says, but taking bits it out of it and using it to the way it suits you and your dog best! keep up the great work everyone!!
  8. Well done Amanda!!!!...and Kinta of corse!! Beautiful babies you got there!!

  12. 9.13e) Clearly negotiate the scramble by climbing up and by climbing down. The dog must place at least one foot or part of a food in the contact area of the scrameble on the way down. So does this mean the dog doesnt need to touch the contact area on the way up?

  18. I found on the ADAA website these rules: 1.5 Membership and Registration All Handles and Owners of any dog competing at a competition must be current financial members of ADAA, bound by its Memorandum and Articles of Association, Rules and Regulations 3. Dog Registers ADAA has two dog registers, the IPR and the PRP. All dogs entered in a competition must be on either the IPR or the PRP and may only enter events appropriate for their register. Well I have just entered a competition and I am not a member of ADAA.?? I thought being a member of the Victoria Canine Association would be enough just like for confirmation shows...my dog isnt on the PPR or PRP either Is this a problem??? ahhhh
