Hi Sue, how has Waldo settled in? Any more 4am playtime sessions? My parent's 8 week black mini arrived from Melbourne yesterday. Oh gosh she is just the cutest! And so tiny!! I'm envious of the photos you have managed to get as mine are turning out blurs as she's just too quick! I tried closing the door this morning to keep her in a room and it took me at least 4 goes to get the door shut because she kept darting back out again

Gotcha, thanks! -
With no particular judges in mind, that would just put me off!

Yes, check with the council for sure. My council area is STRICTLY 2 dogs But luckily I think we are in the minority. A few councils I've heard let you apply for a 3 or 4 dog permit.

Those DOOG walky belts that retail here for about 40 bucks are $25.95 on Clean Run right now with free shipping, if anyone is interested ;) Yes, I was looking at Clean Run again

I had puppy brain, forgot to check! But seeing there was only 1 division one winner and it wasn't in WA.... How greedy, ONE PERSON won the entire 30 mil!!!!!

Oh I forgot, Ruby played tug with Pippa briefly last night Was the cutest thing. Pippa had one end so I handed the other end to Ruby and she obliged, and oh so gently tugged on the other end (which is lucky cos I could see Pippa going flying if Ruby played it properly!) It is something I will need to get on camera if they do it again! Pippa is smaller than Ruby's head so obviously it was totally cute to watch

I think they will be fine. Ruby tries to play with little old Chloe so I think once they get used to her, there will be no stopping Ruby! Millie is more interested in her people usually over other dogs, though she does have a few special friends she likes to play with.

What a shame TSD! Her training sounds like it's coming along so nicely! Are you able to point me in the direction of some drills online I can work on with Ruby, please? Or give me a basic rundown? She got her CDX weekend before last so now I want to concentrate a bit more on retrieving. I'm still such a numpty when it comes to the terminology and knowing what each drill actually is. So when you say casting drill, I have no idea what that is Hope I can stay on track - mum and dad just got a new puppy, a mini schnauzer, and I can see me spending some time having some fun with her!! -
You are going to want one next when you meet her :D She is so full of spunk! I'm a big dog person but oh my goshness she could easily convert me! I stayed at mum & dad's last night, couldn't part from puppy She was such a good girl. Went to bed with no fuss or crying at midnight. 3am toilet run and mum says she went straight back to bed with no crying either. She said she found her sound asleep cuddled up to her stuffed monkey I got up at 6.10 this morning to get ready for work and I heard her give out a few squeaks but no crying, so I waited til she was quiet (which was pretty much straight away) and I let her out for toilet. Clean crate to boot All she wanted to do was bounce around my feet and play tug on the plants in the backyard instead of wee, but she finally went Then she just kept bouncing around mine and the Labs' feet and following us everywhere until mum got up and gave her breakfast. She isn't much of an eater! Hope that changes as she settles in because it makes training so much easier Loves her tug though! So I'll keep encouraging that. My girls aren't too impressed with her perkiness, and Pippa is so bold that she just keeps bouncing around them to get them to play with her. Millie is afraid of her and avoids her, and Ruby grumbles if she gets too close and evacuates the room and refuses to look at her She was at Ruby's feet last night playing with a tug toy, and Ruby had her head tilted in a weird way to avoid eye contact with Pippa and kept looking at me. Oh she's a funny one!! As soon as Pippa moved away, Ruby snatched up the toy and walked off
-
I waited her out til she stopped crying then went into her. It's mum's dog and I won't always be here so I've told her what she needs to do.... but I also said I can foresee them giving in and she will soon be sleeping in their bed at night She has been so quiet all day, even in her first crate timeout. She let out her first little bark not long ago wanting me to play with her. Now she's sound asleep in her bed in the lounge room. I'm smitten with this little puppy
-
Time for you to go home then? :D Yep I was thinking that!
-
Someone's found their voicebox with a short crate rest P.S. My Labs are in heaven. With a puppy around, there are heaps of toys out. I'm a mean mum and don't allow toys in the house. But as I'm at mum's, the rules don't apply here
-
emery, congrats on your baby boy! He looks gorgeous!!! OK, Pippa is finally asleep! And the name is staying Pippa She was sent over with the wrong folder of papers in her crate, everything was listed as 'Pepper and Salt' and she's 'Black', so we contacted the breeder and mum just spoke to the owners of the other one and they are swapping folders in the post. Her registered name is Daphne Rose, how girly :p The other one was Daphne Violet and mum was thinking about using Violet if that was her registered name, but Pippa is so much easier on the tongue!

Ruby probably thinks she is being offered a snack :p Nah cos a previous photo she is sitting there looking away while being offered the "snack" She was laying down earlier and Pippa came up to her and she grumbled and walked away. Scared Pippa though, she let out this little high pitched SQUEAK This dog doesn't sleep She is now laying in her bed and after thinking she was sleeping, I had a look at her and her black eyes are wide open You can't tell til you get up close because the eyes are as black as she is with no whites in the eyes to be seen! She just sits there looking like a windup toy! I'm still a "big dog" girl but geez she's cute!!!

I'll be doing puppy classes at ACWA with her next term I can't wait.
-
She just did wees! I put her back in the garden and she did one. Woo hoo And OMG she plays the cutest tug!! She was doing little play growls and shaking it. I'm having so much fun with her and she isn't even mine Maybe that's the best part, I can have the fun and then go home when she's being a PITA :p I got video of the playing tug, will see if I can upload it. Cutest thing ever!!
-
She's been home a couple of hours now and we can't make her pee Oh the joys of toilet training a puppy!! So far she's been put in the crate for a nap, she just lay there so quiet and didn't really sleep, so she doesn't nap like a pup, either. She's confident, but so quiet.

Puppy has arrived! Her name might be Pippa as mum is contemplating a name change based on her registered name, so stay tuned!

That will be my next obedience trial. I'll be there with Millie. Ruby might come along for a night out but I won't be entering her When I win the 30 mil tonight, I'll build one on my dog property I am gonna buy
-
Strike that! I just feel unprepared and I didn't get to train last night but I'll be there. Don't take this the wrong way but... maybe you should get one of those lucky 8 balls to make decisions and then just stick to whatever it says ;)
