  1. I think Kirislin is right.... but it's so tempting to see the understanding going deeper. :)

Brisbane people owned a Tibetan Spaniel, Zou Chai, who was born & bred in Singapore, before coming to Australia.

They were at a festival in New Farm Park, with crowds of people. Zou, wandered off among the crowd.... & his owners found he'd joined a bunch of young people. They were overseas students at the University of Qld... from Singapore & they were talking in their own language. Did make us wonder....! :)

    That is lovely :)

  2. I thought I would try agility with my Lappie. The only problem is that she has never jumped at all - she climbs. She will wade through creeks and ditches but I don't think I have ever seen her actually jump. I can get her to put her front feet up on things but that is all. She has been checked by my vet and doesn't appear to have any physical issues.

    Any ideas ?

  3. I also have a Lappie and she is the most delightful chatter box - she barks, howls and woowoos. She is fairly quiet at home but does talk about food, visitors, other animals and toys. She is happy to lie around all day doing nothing. I think she would be ok in a unit but she loves lying outside in rain.

She also dug herself a snow burrow - it is about 2m x 1m !

  4. Did you say let's go swimming in an icy cold dam in the middle of winter, oh yes please mum! Oh wait no, you said warm bubble bath followed by relaxing in front of the heater, are you mad woman?

You'd think I regularly beat her with the shampoo bottle

Sounds exactly like my Lappie - she will swim in the pouring rain in the middle of winter but try to bath and dry her :bolt:

  5. Anyone interested in meeting lots of beautiful Lappies should come along

  6. I went away for the weekend once and Dad, who lived round the corner (and had recently lived with me for a few weeks), came around each day to feed the animals for me and spend some playtime with them.

Delta and Charlie would happily greet him at the gate and loved his visits, his problems started when he tried to access the house. Not from the "guard dogs" of course, but from Rose, my entirely indoors Siamese cat!!!

He said she just would not allow him in the front door, hissing and scratching at him whenever he tried to open it. In the end he had to go to the shops and buy 3 bowls and some meat (as he couldn't access my fridge  ) Then he would feed the dogs outside, fill Rose's new bowl with meat, open the front door a crack and slide the bowl in

Haha I have one of these too - if I am home alone and she hears something outside she runs to the front door growling and grumbling - all 4 kgs of watchdog Siamese.

As for the dogs - they are both good barkers and I am confident they would scare off any robbers. I am also confident that they would protect me from any attackers.

The only time we have been robbed was when we were in the process of moving and the dogs were at the new house. The police then told us that dogs are the best deterrent.

  7. We have some of these but are deleting them so they are discounted, they have a bedding range also

  8. You start a new job and within a day your chair is covered with dog and cat fur.

You phone the glazier and say your deerhound bounced a family member through a window again and the insurance company actually pays 3 of these claims.

You don't buy a beautiful house because there are too many stairs to the back for your oldie.
