My two get a 40min - 1hr walk (on brace lead) in the am. They're pretty chilled about the rest of the day... -
Keeping Working Breeds Or Big Dogs In Small Spaces

Deelee - My two lappies live in inner Melbourne suburb - we have a double fronted Victorian weatherboard house, in Yarraville/kingsville. Our backyard is 10m across and 9m deep, but that includes a large shed (that takes almost a quarter pf the yard) and two gardens that we fenced off to keep the doglets out (they keep burying their bones in my OH's garden bed!) - so they have roughly half of that. My two are fine - they live inside mostly anyway - I walk them every morning (and usually again at night) and on weekends we like to do things like Kepala, or dog shows, or go for park walks. They are very happy. We plan on moving in a couple of years, but only because we want a tree change - and more doglets (oh, and chickens. I love chickens!!) -
Love the pics - that one of the Boof is very typical.....!

Neither have mine. These chemicals can be extremely toxic & are absorbed into the bloodstream. Toy breeds do seem to have reactions more than larger dogs. One time when my new kitten arrived by plane from interstate we got her home & out of the carrier & gave her a cuddle. I immediately broke out in huge welts & my son had an asthma attack. I rang the breeder & found she had been sprayed with Frontline the morning of the flight. Guess that was the problem. A bath in a diluted solution of Martha Gardeners woolwash, a dry & a thorough inspection then a comb through with a nit comb, then an ear clean out in case they have crawled in their during the bath, is all I have ever done for rescues & it works fine. I do hope your poor dog recovers ok. You were doing what you thought was the right thing. More controls/testing needed over these things. How do you keep your place flea free? Just curious

England: Assembly Member Suggests Adding Breeds To Ban

the guy is an idiot. -
did you get mine ok?

I use a combination of puffy puppy and OMG, we also use the wheatgerm shampoo. Works a treat on Boof's coat :p
-
Yes, can vouch for that. Boof got tummy rubs a couple of times at Sunbury today......and loved every second. Lappies are simply the best dogs ever.

"Whats dignity mum?" :p Dont worry- I cant see OH agreeing to a name like that- he would kill me if he had to call out "here Fluffy..." in public. When it happens I'm sure we can come up with something that will maintain everyone's dignity and keep the kids happy! All else fails- the dog already has a name - right? ;) Good luck!! I'm sure you will come up with something everyone will love. Even "Teddy" is better... It implies fluffy and cuddliness... but is not so undignified! Or you could do Bear... like we did! LOL
