  1. I am using Prozac on my SA dog and pay just $29.00 per script from the pharmacist. So the $60 seems huge for the same drug (I am in NSW) my vet just writes the script for me and I pay $12 if there is no consult. She puts 3 repeats on it and I get it along with my own medications? Is the big price because you are buying from the Vet? Maybe the rules governing this are different in QLD? everything else seems to be?? :D
  2. There has been lots of discussion on DOL about this - in Sydney the Hound Group usually has more in neuter than in many of the age in group class now but just at the beginning of the year there was only one or two so clearly the support is picking up. Show secretaries need to realise that many of us have showable neuter dogs as well as our current new *stars*. I certainly will choose to attend the show where I can enter all of the dogs vs one which I can't. So they lose my general entries if they don't offer neuter. I have been putting a note into my show entries telling them that I chose their show because of their support of the class. I can't be bothered wasting a stamp on the letting the others know I DIDN"T enter theirs vice versa edited for spellunmk
  3. They are such a big entry they hve their very own judge - from memory it is Ron Chato?

  5. Ratz! I would rather poke my eye out than join Facebook boprzoip - new breed from the gardener??
  6. I received my numbers today but not breed breakdowns. Do they publish them anywhere else?? Nothing on Ozshow as yet. Anyone in the know?
  7. Ah yes, I've seen a few showring spats end in the carpark !!! Always reminds me of the 'behind the shelter shed' punch up after school The most recent was a gobsmacking display of middle aged women screaming at each other as they hurled their respective dogs & gear into station wagons and sped off wishing each other wrapped around a tree fifi Visions of Fifi throwing wolfhound into car......probably only actually get to do that once. Must have been toys?
  8. I have always been a que sera sera on the face judging thing over the years and have been watching this thread with interest then just this weekend I saw something that flabergasted me! All the jaws were on the floor along the fenceline as well so not just me. It really is true and does happen! The part that most upset me was the complete lack of sportsmanship shown as well. If you are not loving your showing and doing it for the love of your breed frankly I can do without you! : note me leaving out the specifics on purpose so i don't get hunted down in the carpark
  9. where to I buy that t-shirt?
  10. grrr - yes I had to join up with my work email too. pesky. I can't drop it all over but I will get your breed if you educate me! ;)
  11. The southern Vic SA style of Staghound will be what you are looking for (yes I have one!). The prey down there is traditionally smaller and they kept to the UK lurcher style of dog whereas in NSW inland and further north the Staggie is hunting pigs, red kangaroo and buffalo so mixed up with bigger and bigger breeds. I will hunt up the name of the breeder mine came from - they are in SA and have been breeding a standard style of lurcher for many years. D'Arcy is 7 this year and I have seen some of their pups from this year online and they look just the same. watch this space :D
  12. The caretaker of the camping ground told me it is over the road and that there is a gate they will open to make the distance shorter for campers -> dogshow
  13. Tks Belinda I received my numbers it is the breed breakdown I was after. cheers!
  14. Likewise I show my entire dogs and if there is a choice on the weekend and one show has neuter and the other does not - guess where my $s go! I do not understand the resistance to showing dog alters but then I have a long history of showing horses and other livestock and we have been showing alters to show prodgeny and bloodline since it was possible to alter them! Go to any livestock show and see kids showing their altered pets! This is where the handlers of tomorrow come from.
  15. Did anyone get breed numbers for Nowra??
  16. Nowra is my first ever away camping show - powered site as well so look for the big dogs! Shame to hear about vandals. Even in the country!
  17. If I ever can't manage to care for a running dog and am resigned to the couch it is a snoring farting slobbering bulldog for me. That or get married
  18. They are picking up well tho' early this year I would be in hound group neuter with only one or two others and now we seem to have a full line up so people are coming out of the woodwork! yay!
  19. Cane Corso again - I only know the one, but have known him from a pup and now he is 8 - super sporty (mad keen retriever?!) and active. Best temperament. But then over the last year not heat tolerant - fine as a youngster tho'. Meea
  20. I bought a Thundershirt which didn't appear to make any difference either. He does like his jimjams tho' so +1 for the tight t-shirt option!
  21. If I get there early enought I will try and watch her prancing around at SF on Sat!
  22. I stalked the puppy at Erskine Park on the weekend. too cute for words!! which one was that?
