  1. Me too, beautiful Thanks for sharing
  2. Beautiful, Mini Wiz Sleep well and sweet dreams Huski The fun has only just begun! They develop so quickly :) (which you already know). Wiz looks to be the best Mum ever, a thriving Mum and bubs is such a blessing. You all deserve it! Happy Birthday for next week, even though you already have your big present now lol.
  3. I may be going mad though is there a fifth bub under Wiz's head in the first pic? Sleep well Huski Happy birthday Huski, the best birthday present ever from your Wiz. You are going to be very busy, though will also be in absolute heaven with Wiz, puppies development and eventually the very best of homes :) Eta
  4. Congatulations Wiz, Huski and team. Lovely big healthy bubs, I love the first pic where Wiz has one bub over her front paw yet is keeping a close eye on her other three babes she is not in physical contact with :)
  5. Hmmm Is it possible that this woman is taking dogs and cats to onsell? By 'adopting' from a rescue (and not paying) all of the hard work has been done, vetwork, temp testing, profile, suitable home etc. Sounds like she panicked with the Border Collie, probably because she had no info, let alone experience. eta
  6. Try mixing the tinned with water (like a slury) and use a spoon to make sure there are no lumps. The ID tinned is very dry, even though it looks "wet". You will be suprised at the amount of water is needed to mix into a consistency that feeds and hydrates.
  7. To the OP, do they rent or own? Do you rent or own?
  8. In my case it stopped immediately after the court case, still did not trust them though. I believed they would just get sneakier or smarter next time. We planted over 80 screening natives, they killed them one by one. I still have the pics of the planting, it was expensive and hard work. I do believe idiot neighbours need to be held accountable, though the only way to do it is by the book. It is very sad, you can't win either way. If you say and do nothing it will continue, if you do act they become even more pissed off (funnily enough they are p.off at what they themselves have created)
  9. Happy Gotcha day Tempeh, gorgeous bugs you have there LG What a lucky girl to have such a fabulous, loving home for her second Christmas :)
  10. I can understand why you feel the way you do. Though IMO getting any sort of revenge will potentially cause even further stress and aggivation. The best thing you can do is report them to council (broken glass) and seek legal advice (first consult is usually free). They may have a reputation already (mine did). All of the proof, reports to ploice rangers and written statements combined with their reputation was invaluable in court. Essentailly they dug their own grave.
  11. Quote '1) No specific instructions given - plus i dont agree with the ways these dogs were raised on some levels. They are tiny pampered house dogs with food/water available whenever and how ever much they want with plenty of play time but no walks. Right or wrong, i cant continue this whilst looking after them simply because i am not home 24/7.' I agree with advice others have given. It is very kind that you are minding your friends dogs. Still, I am not sure what you are hoping to acheive by altering the owners/dogs regular routine It does not matter if you agree or disagree, it is what it is. I know you have said you are not home 24/7 though this is something you need to have mentioned to the owner prior. I suggest you mention this in the future if you ever mind the dogs again. Communication is key. You have said they are tiny pampered house dogs etc and they are a friends dogs, so you must have had an idea prior to commiting to minding them? Well said Pers. I think you are making things far more complicated than they need to be
  12. Jessie is gorgeous! Love the licky tongue  Glad she is feeling better. Keep an eye on her after she finishes her ab's. The cost sounds fair to me with bloods, probably at a time you dont need the cost though! Bellas dental was nearly $900 all up (including the consult) though she had teeth removed, fluids, pain relife and pre anaesthetic screen etc. She recovered very well (shes an oldie too) so I was really happy.
  13. Fingers crossed for you and Jessie, dear old duck Jessie sounds a very special girl, I adore the oldies :)
  14. Ohhhh they are all gorgeous! such a great thread. Denali, your cats are still cracking me up cat death rays
  15. I am probably being over sensative atm as my oldest is 15 years old and I have spent close to $2000 on age related issues (which I did not need) in under 12 months. Bella is doing so well. It is a PITA though she is my world. You should have the bloods back by now. I would be demanding them or be on the doorstep early am. If Jessie is like my old kelpie Bella she is probably a tough and resiliant dog, which is even more cause for concern. My other two would let me know they are not well or have an itch etc immediately. When Bella was young I rushed her to the vet as she was unwell, she rounded up passing cars and was sitting on my back dash when the vet arrived after hours. The vet commented on her energy and said it was probably a false alarm. Bella had a temp of 42 and spent three days on Iv fluids and Ab's. She was really unwell.
  16. I find it concerning that the dog is being treated with all these meds and you don't have a diagnosis! Some of these meds may mask symptoms, or worse, exacerbate any existing issues. This scattergun approach is a worry. if the dog has an infection it cannot be diagnosed now as antibiotics have already been commenced. Pain is a good way to diagnose an issue but the dog is on painkillers? Most concerning is the fact that the dog will not eat. There must be a reason for that. If the bloods are inconclusive I would be getting a referral to a canine physician.
  17. Am I reading it right NicB, did you end up moving after all? If so that's very sad, you'd put so much work into your property. Yes, we have moved though for more reasons than the neighbours. If I could wind it all back I would have sold and moved earlier. I will always adore that property and worked my backside off nurturing it. It was so neglected when we arrived, a shell of what it is now. You cant get rid of evil neighbours though. They would have always been next door (they own). The law may have dealt with it though my intuition was screaming and my children and animals are my world. ETA It was not worth the angst
  18. The OP has the medication in liquid form now .. that should make things heaps more comfortable .:) Where does it say that Pers? (aside from a pill popper online)
  19. The above post gives me the willies. Why would anyone make sure and force mediction into any dogs mouth (while they are unwell) is beyond me. There are other ways to get medications into your dogs system. Otherwise they need to see a vet. Sorry X98, though that is completely absured for me. The owner does not even know if it is tooth or eye related yet. The fact that she is not eating and has also been slow to eat, not finishing her meals and now not eating at all would be enough concern for me. ETA spelling.
  20. Hi there I found where my girl is like that shove the tablet down as far without being bitten lol and than giving them bits of cheese or whatever yummy they sort of forget the tablet and start eating the food and than swallowed it. Good luck Sorry, though why would you do that (via force) when there is a sore/painful mouth (perhaps) involved?
  21. If I had my chance again I would have sold and moved early into the issues. It was resolved through court and I was exctatic with the result, though until we moved I remained on tenderhooks. I just didnt trust them and knew how difficult anything they did (if I was not home) was to prove. Plus they had an axe to grind (in their minds). Even with cameras set up, which were put up after the court case, they will find a way around it. It is often one persons word against the other and if you are living next to people who are clearly demented they will deny and lie These people actually enjoy what they are doing or at least get some warped thrill out of it. The thing is, we responded very appropriately. In fact I think we were far too patient and thoughtful, I dont think it would have mattered as they were not interested in resolving anything. I know I said that reporting to council and police would probably make things worse, though I do believe you are not able to give bullies like this an inch. Reporting is critical when you are dealing with people like this. Having records is crucial if you are forced to take it to court, I know my case went well because of all the documentation via rangers, police, written diary, photos, video plus the efforts we made to screen our houseyard and property from their view (If they saw us, they would hurl abuse and make threats) we were on 5 acres believe it or not! Magistrates look at evidence and fact. ETA Dolers did recommend I move, though to be honest I think I believed the truth would prevail  Later I realised these people didnt think like most of us! It would have only been a matter of time before something else happened IMO. I couldnt risk it or live with the worry any longer.
  22. Good luck, ice cream is good. I gave Bella natural yougurt with manuka honey through it as well. I gave her natures gift as well, though added warm water so that she could lap. Then onto four legs with soft small breed dry and now she is eating normally :) I was worried about pain for Bella, so wrapped her med's in high reward treats instead. I tricked her a bit by getting her to sit drop stay etc (she is a very perceptive dog) I think she thought it was a regular little training session  She had no clue! ETA I keep eta, sorry. Take the icecream out, let it soften and mix it to thickshake consistency (it will warm it up a bit which is easier to lap and is better just incase it it her tooth/teeth.
  23. It does sound like it could be tooth related when you look at everything, especially not eating. It could even be a combination of two things going on... My Kelpie recently had dental work done and was on AB's/pain relife afterwards. I didnt want to disturb her mouth so did as Stuffluv suggested and wrapped her tablet in Turkey, ham or squashed it into four legs, asked her to sit and fed it as a reward. She didnt bat an eyelid. The AB's are a priority. Have you heard from the vet? I would be giving them a call and letting them know what you have said here. I hope Jessie is feeling better very soon ETA I have seen poundies with mouth absess that have burst through the nose just under the eye I dont want to scare you, just that mouth/teeth/eye issues can quickly blow out. Good luck
  24. Poor little bug, though I feel more for you than Mirana atm  Fidos flea and tick rinse worked well for me for rescues short term. I used it in a spray bottle every day (if needed) until things settled down. And them applied the spot on. Her bedding will need to be changed daily until there are no more fleas, perhaps give her a couple of old towels or small cotton blanket so they are easier to wash... I agree frontline is useless, I was told particularly in NSW for some reason?
  25. I am amazed at the difference in different foods for my large breed Fern. I have all of my dogs on VIP grain free and raw, previously they were on canidae salmon. I trialed them on the VIP grain free and they are doing well on it (much cheaper) so I am sticking with it for now. Though when my mum was minding the dogs she fed then some of her supercoat. The other two were fine but Fern lost so much weight, it passed right through her system. She developed a rash on her belly, and a nasty yeast infection in her ears and feet. If Fern has any foods that dont agree with her the same thing happens. She only developed the yeast infection on supercoat though. Funnily enough my mum and dad's retriever also had reoccuring yeast infections in her ears, I suggested changing from supercoat to another dry and no more ear infections! weird. Be careful when buying products sold by some vets. My Kelpie had some dental work done last week, I bought some aquadent for Bella's water while she recovered which was $50. It was $24 on line when I checked. You can save lot's of money if you check out prices etc :) Erny, you always offer such great advice :) and explain your thoughts so well. Your dogs are gorgeous!! Absolutely beautiful
