  1. Leo is TOUGH!! He is just a mummas boy, that's all. He just loves coming to training to play with Tobes now though. And pouncing at Debs poor little puppies! ...I am the one at training who can't run in a straight line ...And I don't do much better at the shows! Dotty (Training will be not this coming tuesday but next) I too find it really helpful, meeting everyone has been good for my nerves, and everyone is supportive and helpful ...I don't think there is an age, but I wouldn't be going until pup has had all it's shots. I am a really shy person too, but after I said my first hello they're probably all still waiting for me to shut up :D ..Most of the people at training are newbies, which makes it even easier, you don't feel so useless!
  2. I just don't wanna make the trip and it not be on. We missed obedience this week because of the weather as well so we have been bored Better be making up my mind cause if i'm gonna go I should head off soon. Leo needs a bath he is stinky, but I can't get him into the tub anymore and i'm not making the poor boy bath out in the cold...if only he weren't scared of showers
  3. Well I might've missed it if you did but I dunno Lol. Look how handsome he is! And my gosh has grown a lot!! Well done on all the wins you'se are doing
  4. Well done Ange Getting out there for the first time is the hardest part, atleast that's done and everything else can improve! I doubt you are as bad as me, by the end I was getting tips from everyone of how to run in a straight line (a problem that has also been picked up on at obedience by the instructors etc. Highly embarassing to start with everyone and end up 10-20m off course!!) Max looks great in the pics, it looks like you are stacking him really well. (he is so tiny and adorable!!) I did the same thing with the lead, I had trouble juggling it all while trying to stack Leo, but training is doing us wonders (well, I think so) And hello Bindii, haven't seen you in here for a while!! How is the gorgeous Fletcher going?? How big is he now?
  5. Am I right in assuming training won't be on tonight??
  6. That's just love! You're lucky you didn't get some big slingers on your nice clothes. There is not a day I go without them. And wearing black with a shedding, drooling dog is bound for disaster, everything sticks out like, well, dogs balls..I helped Sue get her boy and girls in and out of the group specials ring cause she was on her own (grown up bullmastiffs) and they shared there love around well November is three days right? I've entered fri and sat I think and am tossing up whether to do sun aswell? ...Have entries closed yet?
  7. Well done guys The poor little man is knackered. Was a little short with Roxy and just wants to sleep. We didn't make it the whole way through obediance today cause he kept plonking himself on the ground..I got that enough was enough ..Plenty of snoring last night, extra noisey because he decided to sleep on my head ..But now i'm kind of looking forward to november lol.
  8. How did you guys go today?? I was planning on coming and finding you Bec and checkin out the Tobes after Leo was in the ring, but I got caught up with the bully people and Mel (she's 5months pregnant, and everything is an effort ..I will come say hello tomorrow because i'm going on my own (well, if you don't mind!) We just got minor of breed by default but had fun ..No passing out, no falling down, and no losing my pants (although, nearly lol)..What made my day was when we stood for the judge, as he came over Leo sat down so he could get better access to his face for kisses, and then the judge lifted his bum back up and replaced his back legs- and there was absolutely no squealing at all! I was so happy with him! We had fun meeting the other bully people and getting advice and what not on how to run in a straight line. or a triangle ..All in all it was a nice afternoon and I won't be so scared to get out there anymore!
  9. I didn't know that. Seems pretty straight forward, though. Most swf's (said as a very general, generalisation) I have met had had tear staining, I just put it down to must 'just happen'
  10. I thought I entered friday morning but turned out I entered friday evening, saturday morning. And my receipt came back with a 5dollar balance because I overpayed them somehow ..I'm not getting any better at this lol. There is 8 Bullmies entered friday pm show! Undecided I thought it would be a nice little hobby aswell, turns out there is so much more involved cost wise then meets the eye, there is just so many things you realise you must have
  11. It was nice meeting you tonight Deb- I was scared Leo was going to break your babies though I have to remember to take Leo for a few runs or atleast a walk before we go into the ring, I think he'll benefit from that and not be so hyperactive, seeing as he was doing quiet well on our second and third time in. I definitely need to invest in a better belt. And possibly some clothes. Argh I need something to wear. And shoes. It kills me, even the little time we are there, running in those converse. They are too flat and have no support at all.
  12. Hey there again. Nice to see the thread with a bit of action I'm just wondering Bec if it's not too trouble if you get on here between now and tomorrow night if you can leave me a message or something to tell me what the weather is like up there and whether training will be on or not- just don't wanna take the drive up there if there is no need to..
  13. Hey, sorry I didn't make it out, I ended up going out for lunch and a movie. I probably should have said something but I totally forgot. Horrible weather here though- you'se were lucky if ya's didn't get the rain! (btw went and saw whip it and highly recommend it! loved it!) What shows are you guys doing next weekend? I just got some numbers back and seems i'm still getting no better at entering the right shows
  14. Both of my dogs have their own bed/crate, but are always invited up with me. They only come when invited. Sometimes when i'm not taking a lot of notice my old girl will just stand at the end of my bed, rest her head on my mattress and fall asleep ...Leo is still learning obviously..But he loves his bedtime cuddles and getting his tummy rubbed until he falls asleep...Yeh, just a little spoilt...
  15. I'm still keen yeh. I'm meant to be going out to the movies with some friends, but I don't know times or anything yet, so if they don't clash I will def be there. I took Leos tape out of his ears and tried it with some 50c pieces this time so don't laugh at him he is a bit miserable we had to use electrical tape to keep them on. As long as I keep feeding him treats he is happy though!..I think they are pretty right but the cartilage is meant to start setting around 5 1/2- 6 months and I just wanna be safe. He is such a little trooper. The little terd has been eating seeds of the tree out the back, I was just on poop duty today and they are all but seeds ! I keep trying to pick them up before he gets to them, but when he goes out for late night wees it must just be a cover up to go eat some more.
  16. Next tuesday. ETA: Well done Poocow and Morgie!! Kepp it up she'll be Ch in no time!
  17. Thanks :( literally, two minutes after buying a gazebo online, a friend turns up, gazebo in hand, saying he heard I was looking for one. Literally kicking myself. A hundred times over. And over. And over.
  18. Well done everyone!! I think we are doing the 16 and 17 at hb too sammy. How do the points work? When/ if you win, do you have to do anything afterwards? Leo will be in minor at our next show, and not that I'm expecting him to win anything with me on the end of the lead, but just incase lol. Gee, minor, he is getting so old!
  19. Think positive now Poocow! Gotta think positive! Are you going to come up this way for any other shows? Oh, and i'm not going to be at Cessnock Deb. If you were talking to me lol. Our next show isn't until 16th oct. I think.
  20. I saw your photos of the little fella over in general discussion, and he is absolutely gorgeous!! Weis are gorgeous dogs. Is he from the same breeder as your other wei? I do the same with Leo, just at random times ask him to stand for me, well, stand and let me stack him Hope you hang around and keep us updated with how he is getting on ;)
  21. Haha undecided, I am exactly the same! And I feel like a complete fish out of water. You have a Bull terrier right? You will be like me with Leo (Bullmastiff) barely no grooming requirements which is fantastic!! I don't take any grooming equipment to the show (besides a rake to get rid of the lose hair) I take a water bottle (the spray ones), and a cloth (though, drool wouldn't be much of a factor for you I don't think) We only just started showing, Leo is 5 months old, and I think he did ok coming out now, but, I would def get your kid in before 6 months old. But we started going to show training at 3 1/2 months. We didn't do any sweepies, mainly because the BM champ show didn't have them, and the show last weekend had enough Bullys entered to give him experience running with other dogs. We have entered one for next month though. I think it's all personal choice- if you think you'se will benefit go for it! Poocow is right about the water, I take my own water..Simply because you don't know. Better to keep them on what they're used to drinking aswell. The shows we have been at we have been able to park virtually next to where we were setting up, so the loads are heavy but not far. Don't forget the dog, don't leave the dog at home! lol. Where abouts are you? I hope oneday i get to meet the little fella, I love Bull terriers. How many inches is his neck? If you need, I have an extra fine check chain, I think it is about 22inches. Leo is getting too big for it, and i'm scared of it snapping on me so I don't use it (I dunno how strong they are, dunno if I wanna take the chance! bloody 20$ chain for two uses totally not worth it!)
  22. haha ok. I will just have practice runs in the backyard then! I think it is my lack of patience that gets me too with these things. Now just to dip into my savings..again..I guess I had an episode of crate versus car when it arrived- an inch bigger and it wouldn't have been getting in there. the worst about big dogs everything is giant sized!
  23. I just got the oztrail catalogue, they've got the compact for 150$ and the beach style gazebo (which claims it is a pop up style) for 130$ (they are both 240cm x 240cm)..I dunno which I should go for. The beach style one doesn't say height, if it's miniature I won't even consider it, I wanna be able to stand up lol, but if it's decent height i'm tossing up whether to get that as like i've mentioned i'm useless and pop up would be more my style
  24. Yeh I couldn't find a picture online of another one I looked at, the other one is "pop up" so you don't have to put it all together, the side screens are all detachable aswell. (I will be the first to say I can't put up a tent let alone anything that remotely resembles one ) I dunno. Might go out looking and get some demonstrations in the shop. Then practice at home and not take it to a show until i've got it down pact. I'll just hang out in Leo's crate with him
