Thanks Rebanne :)

Thinking of entering the Deniliquin shows in April, wondering if anyone has used the camping facilities there (powered site). Are the sites close to ring area? Do many seem to camp there? (don't want to be the only one there :) )

There is a thread on Meals For Mutts, just type in the search area.

I'm excited for the Aussie Terrier being included but it would've made more sense to have a book of stamps featuring all Australian dogs -- this is quite a random selection!
Agree with you on that, Aussie stamps - Aussie dogs!! I'm off to post office tomorrow.

We received the same as you all, envelope with Gate Pass written on the back and catalogue slips for both shows, but only entered Champ Show. Gazette says one catalogue for both shows......
Anyway, I put the question about gate passes on Facebook and was told that the envelope with Gate Pass is the pass to get in. :)
Thanks, maybe the second slip was supposed to be the gate pass and it was realised after envelopes were sealed that it had wrong wording, so they've written on back. Sounds feasable anyway :)

Hi has anyone received passes for this show. I've received my numbers, and on the back of the envelope it has GATE PASS written in black Texta. Is that all we need to get in on Saturday.
Same here, I also had slip for Open Show catalogue but I'm not entered for that only for Champ Show. Was wondering if they had put that in by mistake for gate pass.

.......ok, even with the UV index as extreme
Can't see indication of that on BOM website, only 21 degrees predicted, I would presume UV much same as today which is "very high", that would be expected for this time of year. Allow for UV peak being lunchtime or after, some groups will be over and people heading home.
If we don't show outside because of UV in summer then because of wet weather in winter, the grounds would never get used. Wouldn't have that choice of indoors at any other shows. Just comes down to being sensible - SLIP,SLOP,SLAP,SEEK, SLIDE.

Would this be suitable? http://www.petaccessories.com.au/product.aspx?ID=944

Maybe have a chat to Ashley Reid about them

I have had my bitch placed first over others in bitch lineup but then refused challenge, with reason that "not quite what she is looking for", to me that more indicates personal taste rather than worthiness of championship points.
Also had refused challenge for my boy stating "not enough maturity", he was only a minor at the time. Been under this judge again as a mature dog and she really liked him.

Congratulations to Sway and Team Huddy

Racecourse Rd Vets @ Pakenham and Beaconsfield Vets seem to be popular with my customers.
-
Pet 'N' The Dog @ Beaconsfield Vic - 2.5 kg is $20 and 10 kg is $55. Even less for Dogs Vic members.

It isn't marketed as grain free. They have brought out a Salmon & Sardine variety as well. Lovely new packaging too.
I've had mine on it since it was first brought out as I like to try new foods on my lot before carrying it in store. All three seem fine on it, no upset stomachs or anything, bit hard to tell coatwise as all blowing coat after bitch in season and at this time of year anyway.

Does anyone know if the rings will be out the front ( new lights) or out the side where they were last year?
And are any groups inside?? Are the new lights operational yet? Would be lovely if they are up and running.

I got really weird numbers
I have a AusBred GSD entered all three days
And
A Junior Bitch GSD LSC entered all three days
I got back an enveloped today with "All Days" written on it, but 3 numbers....
Dogs Victoria New Years Eve Show
Numbers 524 and 579 ...
Dogs Victoria New Years Show
Number 485
It makes no sense to me???
Sounds like a call to Show Secretary may be in order, might have to pick some up at the shows.
Must be a nightmare sorting it all out, must be so much easier when combined shows do the one number for each dog and mark in catalogue which days they're entered. Certainly don't envy the show sec's job.

Heard that some people's cheques hadn't been cashed but ours has and we are only entered on the Sunday. Hopefully numbers will come on Thursday and we'll know if we are in or out.
Keeping fingers crossed that they were received, be really disappointed if not seeing it was for all three. Just have to wait till Thurs, don't want to ring secretary today or tomorrow.
-
Just checked bank account, cheque not banked yet. Hope entries haven't gone astray, sent off entry for all three days.
Will contact secretary if not in Thursday's mail.
-
No numbers here yet.
Thanks, have great Christmas, see you for NY

There were a lot of scratchings, but in general the judges did do things quickly.
We were all out of there before the worst of the heat hit and the dogs were all very well taken care of.
This, agreed!
I think a good amount still turned up for Group 1! Bit of scratching here and there, but not as many as I'd would've expected! But have to say many of the Group 1 dogs, despite the heat climbing, looked so good and handled the heat very well! Was particularly impressed!
The ring steward and judge for today was on the ball, and ensured all dogs were in shade and kept cool while waiting their turn!
Had no problems today with both my dogs and would do it again, but in saying that, it was outdoors, and the gazebo provided great shade for the dogs and they were cool the whole morning!
However.... if the show was indoors..... it would be a whole different story! I'd hope the next 2 shows at KCC with Toy Group indoors, it doesn't get hot!
There is nothing in the schedule that Toys are inside although usually a couple of groups are. I wonder if we will all be outdoors for the 3 New Year shows, does anyone know if the new lights are going to be up and running for the twilight shows? If some are indoors, anyone know which groups?

It is available in pet stores in Vic. Supply seems to be bit erratic though.
