Council Sparks Backlash Over Ridiculous Household Pet Ban
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
I have a 3 dog permit in Victoria. It's for any 3 dogs. It's an old permit that the council had to grandfather in You can still get a permit for more then 2 dogs but you can only get it after you get another dog. So there is always the possibility you get another dog but you get refused, very stressful. When I got my permit the council wrote to neighbours to ask them first. My next door neighbour has 3 dogs and multiple undesexed cats. I've never been asked about their animals, so highly doubtful they have a permit. And as the cats wander 24/7 who would know who really owns them. At least two of the dogs were registered because the Rangers called in several times after my complaints about the cats and excessive barking. -
What Boronia said. You will regret it if you delay. Bless you

Dog Owner Ordered to Pay More Than $100k Over Dog Attack.
Rebanne replied to Deeds's topic in In The News
Regardless of the leash, bottom line is off lead dog attacked on lead dog. I too, still have my one and only retractable leash. Very useful tool. I can get tangled in a 6 foot lead. Neither the attacked dog or owner deserved what happened to them. -
Vent away. Yes you are entitled to be disappointed. Can you get any sort of refund, no idea. Beauty is as beauty does. I have Greyhounds, have bred them and shown them. Same ears as whippets. But my adopted retired race dog, nope, not only does she have prick ears but also a Roman nose. Though at least I knew what she was as soon as I saw her. As your disappointment eases you'll see what you have. A wonderful friend and pet for your family, and the ears will grow on you ❤️

I would be making the complaint to the relevant body. Don't necessarily weigh the complaint to the money side but more the unethical lack of contact etc. Just so they take notice of the breeders behaviour and hopefully prevent others going down your path. I would engage a solicitor and send a letter of demand for return of your deposit and I would certainly go down the small claims route. Sorry you are going through this. Oh and I would also let Dogz know about the breeders ethics

Are some breeds more difficult to housetrain?

I've been told Italian Greyhounds are very difficult to house train. -
I hope they are, they were great crates.

Most breeders are only to happy to talk about their dogs, especially rare breeds. No need for a special room. Be polite, ask if this is a good time to chat and take it from there.

Tips for Managing My Dog's Separation Anxiety
Rebanne replied to michaelcarlos's topic in General Dog Discussion
Have you asked the rescue you got her from? Was she fostered in a home? Speak to your vet and ask about meds that can help her settle. -
What group are the kbd in? Every breed is named initially but does not mean they have an entry. If they are not in the catalogue there isn't an entry.

You're welcome @LadeWhanau You have to be a member for over 12 months before you can breed registered pups and will need to sit a test and get a prefix. Of course your pup will be too young for breeding anyway until that time has passed. There are also restrictions on what age you can breed a female depending on her breed. And I think they have to have the relevant health/DNA tests, that was coming in as I was getting out Mind you I did all the tests I could including non mandatory ones. Always nice to know what is in your dogs bloodlines.
