  1. I agree @Loving my Oldies Nearly always unkempt property, multiple cars, plenty of junk
  2. And what appears to be the male occupier of the property is hanging in the front yard, not game to go out the back and try and save the woman
  3. The pup wasn't on lead. So owners fault. They said it was an accident in the article but, to me, they were trying to make out it was the cyclist's fault and wouldn't mind some money to help pay the vet bill. If the cyclist had crashed from the accident would the dog owners pay something towards the bike being repaired or lost wages if he couldn't work?
  4. sorry but I can't help. Maybe ask the NSW poodle club? Or the breeder of your dog?
  5. so sorry Pesh, cats are very special. You loved him a long time, take care of yourself.
  6. I have a GSD on premises sign though my last one passed 20 years ago. I also have a very large hole cut in my backdoor for my Greyhounds to go in and out. No feral kids yet and the neighbourhood is crawling with them.
  7. sounds like a plan. Try not to stress about it all. I've had more vet bills for a couple of young dogs then I've had for all my old dogs combined.
  8. At 9 your premiums for your dog will be high. And all previous illness and injury will counted as preexisting. I would put what you would pay each fortnight in premiums aside. We all have our limits on what can be spent, money wise, on our pets. There are so many different things to factor in. It's impossible to advice you. Bottom line quality of life for your dog is what counts. Not long ago I put down my beloved senior. He was struggling somewhat, he was a good age for his breed, but I said enough, for both him and me. Some people would have kept him going but for what? A few more weeks or months? I wanted him to go in comfort and with dignity. I did not want him to fall and not be able to get up, to struggle, maybe in pain, but most likely in confusion and fear. I owed it to him. Do the best that you can for your dog, that's all he asks from you.
  9. if I could I'd have Rose on both. Phoebe could be at risk too as if they only look on the racing registry she won't be there. Luckily I have the place locked up tighter then Fort Knox. Odds of it happening would be very low but it is a bit of a concern.
  10. not as far as I know. I will ask my vet next time I have Rose there but I thought the rules had changed to only allow a dog on one registry.
  11. I consider the fact that racing Greyhounds have their own registry are right royal pain in the **** My show Greys were/are all registered on an Australian wide data base but my race bred girl is on the GRV data base. One can only hope that it is Aus wide considering we live very close to a state border. When I was checking Nell's chip had been transferred into my name the girl was going to look up the racing registry. Wouldn't have found Nell there. So if Phoebe ends up at the pound will all databases be checked or only the racing one?
  12. Unless the lead was provided by the owners and it broke then yeah the dog walkers have to take responsibility
  13. @studypets you are answering a post so old that Kojack is no longer a member here. I get you are trying to push your business but maybe you should read the forum rules.
  14. If it's a ANKC dog then you could ask your governing state body for assistance. If you are talking microchip then apply to whichever registry it's on to get the chip into your name.
  15. there are other things for anxiety including medication that may be more suitable.
  16. I can tell you Trazadone 100mg knocks out a 30kg Greyhound and calms a 35kg Greyhound. I use it for known fireworks and if a big storm is coming. Affects the dogs for around 10 hours from what I can see.
  17. I never have, my go to in the past has always been a good Greyhound man. They have sent me to the vet if they pick up something they can't deal with.
  18. ask your vet. Lots of Greyhound people around there, no doubt there are some "muscle" men who could work on your dog.
  19. I couldn't understand what the problem was? Was the it the old guys dog running around, the black and white dog and the couple had their dog in the gate? The article said the man was inside the dog park but the couple were trying to leave. I couldn't make sense of the video.
  20. where's the bone in her diet? Reads a bit unbalanced as you have described it.
