Stomach Cancer Or Kidney Failure-updatePuggaWuggles posted a topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming Hi all, My best friends Pug(Doug the 2nd) was rushed to the vet yesterday after constantly throwing up,shaking, drinking all 2 big bowls of water within a few minutes and throwing up even more. He is in at the vets still for more tests and and most likely will be for 2 more days. The Vet has said that it is most likely Stomach Cancer,or Kidney failure. Does anyone have any experience with with either? we are all heartbroken and terribly worried. He is 8 & 1/2 years old and he is the whole reason we all came to love Pugs so much. Thanks all.

Cayan Powder or Pepper, sprinkled on the poo.It will give the dog a nasty fright at first, but he wont go near it again, thats how we were told to stop our pup eating his own poo,it worked within a few days.

Hi all, Does anyone have any advise for me on this? Wuggles sleeps in between my OH and I,we bought him a nice soft bed for himself that we can put him in,still on our bed,but down the end of the bed.But he wont have anything to do with it,he either bites it,squirms out of it,and generally stays as far away as he can from it. Is it a good idea to put it outside during the day when we are at work, just so he can get used to it,the only problem there is that he may chew it?Or,should i just keep putting him in there until he stays in there? Any ideas will be great, thanks.

Hi all, I have booked Wuggles in to get his groin stitches(from desexing)and his nostril stitches(from widening nostrils)taken out this weekend.I couldnt speak to the vet on the phone this morning,so i was just wondering how they do this?does it hurt the dog?is anesthetic used?is there anything special i have to do,like no breakfast or anything like that?is it a major thing?or do they just pull/cut the stitches out and send us on our way? Thanks

Hi all, Wuggles was finally desexed succsesfully on Thursday, his soft pallet was fine but he had some sort of nodules(sacs) in his throat that the vet removed, plus he had his nostrils widened. He has stitches in his nostrils and they are due to be taken out in a weeks time.BUT,the stitches and his nose are very dirty from sniffing everything, can i clean the dirt out of the stitches and the rest of his nose and nostrils, what do i clean it with,i tried a wet tissue but the dirt and stuff does not come off,it didnt seem to hurt him when i did this, but i dont want to pull or hurt his stitches. Can i clean it?and what is the best way? Thanks

Woman beats bulldog with shovel - http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/woma...9-1225838501588 Spike ... the bulldog who was allegedly beaten by his owner with a snow shovel. A WOMAN has been charged with animal cruelty after her neighbours busted her on film while beating an 11-month-old English bulldog with a snow shovel. NBC New York reports todat that Maria Aguilar allegedly crippled the dog with her months of abuse. She was charged with animal cruelty and possession of a weapon. The ASPCA says the dog, Spike, had "a hip fracture, a broken leg, three broken teeth and injuries to his ears." He is not up for adoption yet, the ASPCA said. In addition, the adorable pup is"virtually blind in his right eye." The ASPCA went to Aguilar's home last month after calls about a dog crying: "One of the witnesses used a camera phone to tape the abuse, also capturing Spike's howls of pain. Aguilar is seen throwing Spike to the ground and then slamming him with a snow shovel."

Hi all, I have started using canned food(natures gift) to stuff into Wugs 2 kongs, then i freeze them and he has nice frozen exciting kongs to keep him occupied. My questions are- How long will the canned food last after being opened and put in the fridge? Should i keep it in the tin or put it in a plastic container in the fridfge? Can i cut it into portions and freeze in freezer bags?how long will it last in the freezer? Is it ok to re-freeze after use? Thanks.

Sorry all,i should have thought a bit better about the thread name, definately no Pug X Ridgeback here.
-
Wugs only does it when he knows something is there but he cant see it.At which stage i will check for him,and once he knows there is nothing there to worry about, his hackles go down and he is relaxed again. He has never done it when just looking and barking at another dog or person he can see. 'Thank dog. I thought this thread was going to be about pug x ridgebacks', puggy_puggy,that would be scary and disturbing .
