  1. Hello, another WA here, but a country bumpkin. Geraldton actually. I do try and get to shows bout every month or so and our next one is the Wanneroo on the 27th then the one on the 29th also. It will be my new addtion's first show. We only have about 3 or 4 shows here a year so need to travel. Might have to move to Perth one day I think...
  2. Well so far so good. Except for the vegies, my lot are loving their new diet. I have upted my boys to 3% of his body weight and dropped back the other 2 to 2%. Iwas thinking about getting a mincer but I decided to try the meat in the blender and that worked really well. So now their meat mix consists of donkey, roo, camel and beef. Their coat is still improving also and they are hardly scratching now....
  3. I decided to mince up the liver and kidney together tonight to see how they would take it, well my boy anyway. And wulla, they ate the lot Now I have another question for you. On the 2% ratio, my boy seems to be loosing a little and my 9 month seems to be gaining a little to much, So I have dropped her's back but with my boy, I want to add more fat. So what I need to know is how much of each meat would you mix up for his meat meals. The meats consist of roo, camel, donkey, beef. How much % of each would I add for one mix... Thankyou
  4. I think my lot are loving their new all raw diet.... When i used to feed them kibble, it would be in the morning with a bone also and they would eat the bone(most of the time)and leave most of the kibble. If I had to go out, I would wait and give them brekky then. But now, when I let them out in the mornings, they go for their toileting duties, then it is straight back in their crates "whats on the minue for brekky this morning mummy' And my 9 month old girl will bark till you give it to her. Do you think they are loving it or what
  5. Ha, your guess is as good as mine With the offal, he ate the beef live but not the chicken liver and they were also fed together and in the saem size chunks so ;) I forgot to mention that he is still quite sensative around the base of the tail region(you scratch it and he gos made)and although has subsided quite a bit, he is still eating himself during the day. So is there anything else I should do or just wait for a while longer as he has only ben a the complete raw now for 3 days... I had a problem with fleas also a few weeks back but have since deflead the cats(brining fleas in from next door)and have done the dogs once with frontline and was going to do them again in the next couple of days.....My kids check them every night(kids love doing it as they love hearing the fleas pop ;) )and my boy doesnt have any on him at all, well that we can find anyway..
  6. With your vegie mix do you blend it into a really fine mush? That way they can't pick anything out. yes i blended the all of the vegies up in my blender, and as i added eggs, it was like mush. The vegies looked smaller than if you would grate them and he still managed to spit the apple out ;) Bloody smart a....s is all I can say. Just to add, my dogs coats were quite good while they were on the mix of kibble/raw but after only a few days on complete raw, their coats are glossening, and their scratching frenzoes have subsuded heaps... Thanks everyone this is such a wicked thread and just to let you know, I have just finished all pages and as my printer has no ink, my hands are tired and I have used 6 sheets(both sides) of a-4 paper now I just have to put it all together
  7. Well I have just fed the dogs their dinner and Vegie mix consists of:carots, brussle sprouts, celery, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, beans, alfalfa sprouts, bananas, sweet potato, and apples, with added vinegar, kelp, rosehip, eggs, all well mixed and my lad decided he didn't like the apple and spat ONLY the apple out and ate the rest He also does not like chicken livers as he did the same with the beef/chicken liver mix....The s........d The other 2 loved it and were waiting for more...
  8. The chicken mince will be chicken carcuss, necks and wing tips. I specifically asked what he put in it and if anything else like preseratives etc He said nothing other than carcuess, necks and whatever else I wanted in it... And as my dogs are not eating their bones, this will work in rather well. Thanks again for all your help and I will let you know how they all go......
  9. Sorry for all of the questions but I have been wanting to do this all natural for a while. My boy (and the other 2 just not as bad)has got allergies so having a go all natural. If I was to add chicken mince, what would that come under? Just to add, after the dogs not having dry for 2 days now, the scratching has subsided a little so theres hope...
  10. Forgot to add that the vegie mix took 2 hours to make, half an hour to add and mix all ingredients and 1 and a half hours to clean the walls after lid came off blender
  11. Thankyou ever so kindly Staranais. I will pass on the info and will add it to their diet tomorrow. I have just made a vegie mix and it looked quite tasty till I added the eggs and now it looks like mush. Smells alright though.
  12. I have just rung them and they will also keep me the oesophagus so how much would they need of that. SHe hopes that her husband knows what the stomachs are as she doesn't
  13. Also could you please let me know what % of each meat should I make up for 1 kilo. And would a say 9 month old and a 8 week old need more fats than a 2 + 3 year lod? Sorry but my brain is hurting and I cant work it out? Roo, Donkey, camel/beef mix(mainly camel) chicken mince heart liver, offal mix(except liver)
  14. Thankyou. And it isn't the butcher Im getting it from, I did ask them but they said no way as they only do white tripe.. Now is there a wasy way to know which is the first, second and third stomach? I am about to give my supplier a ring so I need to know my self just incase they dont know either... ANd how much would you feed? Also does anyone know anything about camel meat as I have they have just got some and they rate it very high.....
  15. OK, well I have still havent read all the pages,YET, as I have been out shopping I can get some tripe (beef)but.... Can you let me know what would be the best sort(propably stupid question but I have no idea)ie: the intestines, just the stomach and as it is from a cow which has 4 stomachs, do I get all four or just 1 and if so which one My pet meat store has never done it before either as they normally toos it out so we know about as much as each other They informed though that they now have camel meat and wow, it looks good enough for me(not that I would) Camel-not as high in protein as roo, not as much oil as donkey and they do it in bags mixed with beef. I am thinking this might be ideal for our new addtion next week? Also please be careful of chicken mince from leonards as I did hear that they also add alot of sugar, additives and other crap....... The local supermarket meat manager is going to do me 12 kilo's of minced chicken frames, necks and wing tips....So wicked...
  16. OMG, I started to read your thread with the upmost interest but a few hours later and I am on page 18(will go back over the rest tomorrow as it is now 12:10am)You guys are wicked I have been feeding both dry(yea i know) and raw forever but got converted a few days ago. I have only just started and I do know that you feed 2% of their body weight.... Their diet consists of: roo mince donkey liver heart kidney vegetable mix(zucchini, carrot, squash, apple, broccoli)will be adding more tomorrow chicken carcuss + chicken wing tips eggs, yoghurt, linseed oil, kelp, rosehip I will go on a previously(proportions) stated diet but does anyone know anything about donkey as all i know is has got a good fat content. Am going to go and get some chicken mince(carcuses) tomorrow(well today) from leonards but fresh as the last batch I got(some time ago) was off . Oh and I might be able to get some tripe as I have asked my local pet supplier and I need to talk to them tomorow about it. And it has to be green right? I will be getting an new addtion next week(8weeks) so will I start her off on dry and raw and then just wean he? This is an awesome thread. I have learnt so much.....

  19. Awesome photo's. I too love tigers, have pictures of them all over my loungroom.
  20. I have been in a situation where although I didn't kick them, I kicked sand in their faces. I was on the beach with a friend(ex friend) her dog, and my 3 kids. ABout 100metres up the beach was a 4wd with 5 large x breed dogs. They must of got wind of us and come bowling toward us. Well, I told the kids to stay in the water, my so called friend put her xbreed mutt in the back of MY CAR and my little Kimba girl(stafford) was still playing fetch with her ball. The first dog, seemed OK but the other 4 came up growling and carrying on, and Kimba, still didn't give to hoots and was still concentrating on her ball. But then the dogs came towards me and Kimba saw and put herself between me and the other dogs. They were all snarling and bearing their teeth but my little Kimmy girl stood her ground but they started to charge so I started kicking sand straight at them. You would of thought there was a sand storm. Thank god it worked though and they went back to their owners. But I will say that I would not like to kick any dog but as previous posts have said, when you are in that situation, most of the time you dont have time to think but just react and if kicking them is the only way that i could save my dog, then so be it...
