On this, i have a friend who was a newbie. Long time exhibitor had a go at her for not asking if she was ready to go. I'm still waiting for this long time exhibitor to do the same thing  sometimes, exhibitors take advantage of newbies... so as oso says, if someone can go that extra mile and give a newb some encouragement, it goes a LONG way. I agree i always ask if the person behind me is ready, i was paid the same courtesy the other day and being 7.5 months pregnant and running mulitple dogs it was much appreciated to give me a few secs to get lead right before we were off. i had a friend i signed up as a handler, handle the other day, i mentioned to steward and judge he was new and first show, they were so nice with him telling him advice, and it actually shocked me he turned around and asked if the person behind him was ready "he'd paid more attention then i gave him credit for" and the other exhibitors gave him distance etc it was lovely as this isn't always the case

aww puppy cuddles

my first big win was a baby in group at an open show. When the judge picked me i think the smilw didn't stop spreading i was speechless and bent to give my girl her treat and a big cuddle looked up to see the judge with a ribbon patiently waiting to shake hands. I did apologise but I think she realised it was my first win lol she was a great judge Love what CC said. though i don't go up fifteen minutes before. i have a bitch so am ready before the males go in and am standing ready and waiting and pay attention to class, I then say to steward ... is here and i have ... if i am taking multiple dogs in so they can be marked. I try always have someone have the dogs ready to swap over

My husband converted an old cmaping trailer. We brought two large dog crates and secured them at the back near the double doors so doors can be open and dogs are in crates. On the side is a side door and there is enough space in forn tof crates for all our gear, I also have a tool box attached on front where we keep the smaller items, dog box, stove, leads, toys etc. Will get some photos when it gets home from its camping trip. I show rottis and they fit comfortably. I have just added a third to our team and we are looking at buying a toledo but for now the two pups can go in one crate for the drive to the canine grounds or one in the car if neccessary. I ratchet tie the gazebo onto the tool box onfront as its a 6 by 3 oztraila nd slightly to long to fit lengthways in the trailer. I wouldn't put it sideways as its too ehavy for the crates and it would rest on this. There is ample room inside for 4 crates folded up, another tool box, chairs, mats, blankets, gas bottles etc etc and often room to spare :D

While we generally count 63 days from mating as the date there are other factors to consider, ie type of mating natural /AI, when fertalization actually takes place etc, this I think is what you are refering to. Some things to consider here are the bitches prog. levels at time of mating and the method of fertilization. The window for mating is different in each case as one you are delivering the semen to the right spot and the other it has to travel. Not really the number of matings that count but working on the right time line in terms of the bitch peaking. Bitches don't always follow the same cycle for peaking either, Jenna has peaked near the end of her cycle, had one mating and had pups and she has peaked less than a week into her cycle and blown my plans out of the water. I would consider 63 days from the first mating as the due date but allow for the fact that they can come as early as the 57th day or later than the 63rd. That's a better explanation i still learning :D oooooo boxa exciting :D
-
My understanding is say you do three matings you may do them 2 days apart each so the first due date would be 63 days from first mating all the way to 63 days from third mating. she could fall pregnant on any of the three matings :D

Should Members Of The Public Be Allowed To Bring Their Own Dogs Along
emery replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
Lovely as that is, the show ring is the place for pedigree animals to compete. We shouldn't have to worry about every Tom, Dick, Harry and their mongrel. Not every dog that is brought to shows as a spectator is a mongrel either it could very well be pedigreed and steralised or just not shown -
Should Members Of The Public Be Allowed To Bring Their Own Dogs Along
emery replied to SwaY's topic in General Dog Discussion
i said yes. I often take my big pet along for a day out. he loves his crate and when out is so well behaved. i think the general public should be allowed to bring their dogs providing they have control of them. some exhibitors lack control of thier dogs too. -
RV so sorry for your loss,
-
better pets and gardens. it is high enough for me the pregnant one to still be able to bath the doggies provided they get in on their own. has a blow dryer too though not too powerful.

Just ring them and make sure he is going to be in too... Maybe call the night before. I went in on Tuesday night - and was in to see a vet in 10 minutes, Didnt see George because he wasnt there and it was a basic routine thing.... Some people picking up there dog from surgery commented on how busy it was.... i just laughed im like you havent seen nothing, the queue can fill the waiting room and the verandah! Bahahahahaha and the car park and half the street when really busy :D Doesn't this vet surgery take bookings? Interesting approach! What happens if you are at the end of the queue and waiting for ages and it gets to 12 and he says no more patients?? No they don't take appts but they don't kick people out either george is very good like that and even if the appt is an extended appt he doesn't normally charge for it. Had my cat in with snail bait poisoning other week and couldn't beleive the little amount george charged me for three days in vet and steralisation he rocks :D on a good note just bathed three rottis and trimmed the girls nails as i have been slack and they are uber long. kept the corn flour on hand thankfully i only grazed three nails 2 on one dog an 1 on the other who pulled away bloody sook she is lol. they look a lot better and glad no reaction i normlaly am realyl careful but htey needed to be cut right back :S so i am wet and covered in corn flour but dogs are all ready for shows on weekend
-
J they start queing at 8am before doors open, you might be bale to ring them and say you are coming up from bunbury can they put you in the que though
-
Hahahah that's okay CC i know you are busy :D and trust me if mine play the deaf card for even a second i am chasing them wouldn't let them get out of sight i'd freak out.

1 vote ahead i am still pimping it on my page godo luck -
ok i am gonna join the offlead rant just took the girls to the river to play fetch, swim and run. Have ty (3yrs) with me, learner motorcyclist down there so we moved to side and stayed on grass but stayed near our car. i threw ball for dogs, ty played on table and picked up rocks and sticks (like all little boys do) Talking to ty ignored my dogs for two secs turn back around to find a large cross bred (breed not important) standing stiff ebside the girls. i move slowly over and grab their leads (i tie them aroudn their necks so they are still on) and try to mocve them away. Grab them and look around going where they hell did you come from and where is your owner. No one in site he has a collar and tags. i talk to him and go to read tags and he bolts off (this was about a good 2 minutes) Me trying to keep my girls and son away from him. Finally an owner comes into site after a few minutes. i held the girls to they were out of site but so annoyed. Ok yes he wasn't aggressive but who's to say mine weren't obviosuly and luckily as i have two they are friendly and so was he otherwise i could of been up the creek with out a paddle especially with ty and me being pregnant. Now technically it isn't off lead but the ranger is good as long as your dogs are under effective control and he allows them to go for a swim etc to me this boy wasn't under effective control considering it was about 2 minutes before i spotted an owner
