I don't bathe the rottis often at all. If I am showing regularly I will bathe before a show if really need it or I hot towel them. I have the two btiches in side due to being in season and they are getting egg and sardines in their meals every day and htey don't smell to me. I had visitors today and they never mentioned any smell (maybe being polite) though one did want to steal kelari lol

Oh hope everyone keeps their puppers safe, someone near my mum's house set some off last night thankfuolly by the time we realised what they were they were over as her dogs freak, they scared my poor son he was almost in tears

Congrats boxa and poofong on your puppers BIG's I spent the day with the children at Whiteman Park yesterday as it was a Thomas the tank engine day. I took Chance with me as the girls are in season thought it'd be nice to get him out of the house. We must of did about 10k of walking and he even got to ride on the Thomas train with us. He was fine ont he first two trips (enclosed carriage) third trip we were in an open carriage upon take off he tried to walk backwards i held him tight 10 seconds he sat down and relaxed guess seeing the moving ground is a bit freaky but so proud of my boy relaxing and enjoying the journey. He got lots of cuddles from the whiteman park staff and even people wandering around. one lady asked to pat as her mum has rottis then proceeds to tell me chance has a lovely head i said he is pedigreed she said yes he is better bred than ours lol, bit of pride here lol One little toddler on the train was facinated with chance kept trying to pat him chance got a few licks in. the toddler dad was fine the mum was a bit freaked out so i turned chance to face me so the little one could pat his back without getting a bath lol. Had a great day except for the idiot with the offlead border collie. sitting on the walk paths near children's forest in a shelter feeding zac, daughter holding chance, i was talking on phone when i looked up to see this dog come running grabbed lead thankfully a friendly dog but geez heart attack in the making, off lead dog beelining for you and i got two young kids and holding a baby :S

Have you tried a long line? Or an E-Collar LOLOL I have been babysitting my 'nephew' and have decided three dogs are too many for me, I only have two hands for patting and feel bad leaving one out Both very good ideas :D i will give them a shot :D

my pups recall its the children that don't

Given my dogs live on acreage very definitely! But they only get shown occasionally now anyway. The other two regular show dogs get washed twice a year (for the Classic and the Royal - both times at least a week out as I get the honour of washing them :p) then get hot towelled before shows. Arlo I think gets washed every month or two. He won't be getting washed again before the Royal which means he would be about a month from his last bath Banjo gets washed before nearly every show but then again he gets into mischief on the farm Hehehehe i just been slack if they rottens are really dirty they will get washed a day or two before a show otherwise yep a hot towel works wonders or baby wipes if i forget the towel i love wash and wear dogs but as they are likely to get pat by the public at the royal i will ensure they are clean
-
This is what i have seen happen as well, i didn't know it wasn't allowed i thought it was a great idea ;D
-
That would be Taavi :D He is "my" new show dog Or at least I have been told I am showing him at his first show at the very least Or I should say one of them as I met "my" other one, Anikka, last night who just arrived from Victoria I am managing to get more Lappies in the ring in WA, but seem to have been nominated to show them Both owners have been told they have to learn as well though Oh and to answer your FB question as it is easier on here - Lappies don't get washed that often. Ours really only get washed before a show (and then usually a week before) or when absolutely needed wow we are supposed to wash dogs for shows? i can't tell you the last time the rottens got a bath i will try wash all three before the royal considering two are in season
-
Thanks ST didn't think of the canine news lol and thanks RnH i will look into it i have been slack lol Woohoo
-
can any one reccomend where i can get some bench sashes in perth made for the royal? yes i realised i am probably cutting it fine. thanks :D
-
Yes at a recent show we heard someone question the committee as to the random assortment of judges they had picked and they quite blatantly told them that they picked them as they knew they would put their dogs up - and what do you know, all their dogs were picking up groups and classes in groups etc. I wish someone would point me in the direction of these judges, I'd like some fringies When you are finished with them send them my way please i got some dogs i'd like to title but a firngie would make my day lol
-
Oh dog i hope not thats terrible.
-
5 girls in season at once i think i'll stick with my two At least they love their crates its a bonus
-
bring her round my girls might bring her in for you i was actually stressing that squid would be in for the royal thankfully brought her in :D though i am wondering if hre mother will go back to 6 months she is 10 months post puppies and this is her first season kelari is 8 months form her first season. I am thinking if it gets too much i will take chance to my mums as he will have doggy company and no smells but i may need to crate him at the royal depending how the girls are looking lol.
-

emery replied to Keira&Phoenix's topic in General Dog Discussion
As far as I know in QLD the papers go into the new owners name so she should be able to contact Dogs QLD and for a fee get the papers reissued :D -

A puppy party sounds fun. what area is RV in lol? My puppy would love a play date but he would dwarf all the tiny pups being ten months old now lol. ST your pups look so gorgeous and hmmm who has the whippet pup if he goes missing don't check my backyard lol adorable :D Boxa i hope booka does well i will try get there but i want to get to the show tomorrow to watch a friends dog do i have enough fuel and can i find a baby sitter lol

Woh. I can clearly state that Andisa loves dogs. running a business from home does not entitle people to rock up willy nilly and expect service on demand after all it is her home too and she is entitled to go out with her daughter ect that is why appts should be made. Even more frustrating to change your plans and have a not so willing participant to groom there is nothing worse
