  1. Thanks for your help dogdayz sounds like it's not the track for us to go watch.
  2. Hi all, tracking is next on the to do list so l have some novice questions for you all. We where thinking of going down on Sat to watch the tracking comp out Geelong way but how do we find out where everyone will be ? Also l have noticed several comps are over 3 days so can you enter all 3 days or do you send your entry off and a ballot decides which day you track, what about the tracking comps on Monday l assume most people work, if it's a ballot and you have to work do you miss out ???
  3. l love the first pic, we are all laughing, it was a such a good ET.
  4. Hope you don't mind l shared 2 pic's on FB so the Samoyed folk could admire their boy in action.
  5. l'd love to see some of our min pin if you've got any.
  6. That's great to hear l'm just about to leave and make the trip to Melbourne. Good luck everyone for tomorrow.
  7. Pitty we can't put up gazebos with abit of luck the rain will stop for us.
  8. Spoke to the trial sec a little while ago and an email will be sent out to confirm if we are going ahead, suggested if we can bring a gazebo for our helpers / slaves so they don't get wet so hopefull we can.
  9. l was going to head down today incase the Western HWY is closed again due to flooding and we can't get thru in the morning.
  10. How much rain has there been down in Melbourne ? Any chance the ET will be called off ? l can imagine the grass portion will be mighty boggy after a few laps of 20 riders and dogs going over it.
  11. l can't decide if l want to go out today he's done a few sessions in the rain but l have a cold comming on and l'd hate him to get one too. It's been raining for 26 hours straight in the Wimmera and most of the roads are flooded and the dirt tracks are a mess. Decisions, decisions.
  12. Some great tips there M, tomorrow is our last training session, l want the little man to be all rested for Sat. Maybe just 5km's tomorrow on the bike and 1km walk to pick the kids up. Think we will leave Friday night and stay in a Motel down there, l think it took 3.5 hours to get there last year.
  13. We had a similar situation and the co owner of my boy had issues with every litter or breeder we looked at getting a bitch from. An old friend said to me " if your worst enemy has the dog you want to use or the lines your after you ask them, personal feeling aside your here for the betterment of the breed" In the end we bought a bitch l told the co owner of my boy that my OH bought it as a gift for me l didn't even know he was planning it until we picked her up. l ended up using an outside stud for her mating. 3 years down the track we are all friends and he has a pup from her.
  14. We will be finishing up with a 8km walk on Thursday, be sure to come over and say hi this year again M, we will be the ones with the min pin. l'm really looking forward to this ET l think we have done the hard yards and he should be fine willingness test is still abit iffy it's not his strong point and l should not have left it till the last week. He's willing enough just not sure what all this sit stuff is about. His free stacking is fab if that counts ???? Just remember if your doing lots of km's the last few days watch your dogs paw pads.
  15. When are the next shows with neuter classes in Vic ? We have a group 1 neuter now too
  16. l wish l could cram some big training in this last week but l would be afraid of over doing it and ending up with a lame dog. My cocker went lame a few weeks out from the trial last year and over doing it during the last week would leave no recovery time. l'm just taking it easy our last big session was on sat and that was 10.8km's.
  17. Have you tried emailing, l emailed a few times and got a prompt reply, l know the catalogue has already been done.
  18. Finally started the min pins stuff for the willingness test today l think we will be supplementing the sit command with a hand on the bottom and his heal work with a few gentle checks, his on lead recall was great for a first attempt. We have just been so busy and obedience was never a plan. Done 8km's today l'm really looking forward to this ET just over a week to go. l think we need a little dog pic too.
  19. CC, l think you were behind the GSD that was behind me last year at the GSDCV ET . Will be great to have a few little ones going round this year. Got my vet check today.
  20. l go round our footy grounds, ground the block and along the 4x4 tracks down by the river, it reminds me of the Canberra ET. l've done the Canberra one and the GSDCV one and l that ET so well organised too, no mucking about, they have a time keeper/ pace setter in the lead and one at the back to keep everyone together. Don't forget your poop bags. Has anyone done a list on the thread of what to bring on the day ? My boy after doing the GSDCV ET last year
  21. l guess it's hard to find grounds to do it on with insurance and what not. It is a really nice course.
  22. All the different things we encountered last year doing this ET so off lead dogs and rushing dogs which is easy l just have to ride down my street for that. Grass, gravel, footpaths and roads. Passing cars, kids sporting events, bridges, seagulls - my litte fella loves his birdies. Slow pace and tight turns on gravel, hills and fast pace if you have a toilet stop you need to get back into your spot before the end of the leg. Oh and going round thoes stupid wooden things to stop people driving their cars on the path. Remember the ET is held at an off lead dog park last year there was an off lead dog race thru the group which ended in a dog being attacked, not everyone one will move off the path to let you past or call their dog back.
  23. l'm really looking forward to the GSDCV ET, it was alot of fun last year and it's over before you even know it. l think we have trained for everything on course and lots of speed prep incase we have a toilet stop oh and bridges too. l'm nervous the little man is not fit enough, l know he is l've done more work that l did with the two cockers for last years ET, l had a panic attack last night and after doing 6km's on the bike after lunch l took him out at 8.30pm and 2 degrees for a 6km walk. Spoke to the s sec tonight and all the little dogs will be together so there must be a few of us
