  1. Considering they are saying the pup was flown from QLD to Vic at 5 weeks old by a registered breeder l dare say it's a scam.
  2. l decided to contatced the seller myself and enquire about the pup they are selling using my microchip number, below is the reply l got. Hi there, Coco is a purebred american cocker spaniel puppy aged 13weeks,She is up to date on shots, micro chipped, not fix, wells socialized toilet trained and house broken. She will be coming with all her accessories and papers.I bought Coco from a breeder in Queensland, when she was just 5weeks.She likes playing with kids and even befriend strangers and other animals,as she would play very much with the kids we meet every time we go for walks at the park.Coco is like a kid to me now,I won't spent most of the day with her, feeding and training her following the instructions on the manual given to me when I got her from Jason(breeder),because i have no time to take care of her,Coco is a little bug that you would want to have as a companion, when you think of a cocker spaniel with a gorgeous face and good complexion on her coat,Its Coco you think of.photos will prove am right. She is good with humans, obedient and devoted.submissive and befriend children very well as mentioned above. Its very difficult and painful for me to give her away just now,but honestly I cannot do otherwise than getting a very nice home where she will be happy. I am willing to accept $650 as re homing fee for her and all accessories, not leaving out any. I know there are a lot of families out there just like yours, who are interested in Coco, but I really need to make sure she get the right home by imposing an adoption fee and asking a few questions like the oneslisted below. What experience have you on this breed in general? Will you be willing to send me,or her breeder photos as she grows? That's what i have been doing since I had Coco from Jason. How many hours at most will Coco spend alone if you were to get her? If you can assure me to take good care of Coco by giving convincing answers,we can take it from there and see where it leads us to.I have no problem organizing her transportation to you.let me know where you are located. looking forward to your response. Regards
  3. Website contacted = The ad meets our requirments AAR contacted = Yep the chip belongs to your dog, all good Local council contacted = Try the website again Dogs Vic contacted = Have the seller contact us and we can confirm it's a false number in the ad. DPI contacted = We expected this but your the first case, have the lady that contacted you email us we just need to make sure your not the bad guy. Seriously how are they going to police this. The buyer thinks the seller has bought the puppy from me and is on selling it, she has been told the papers have not been sent to her yet so in turn thinks l have them. Obviously different breed, sex and colour to the dog the chip really belongs to so l have no papers, vaccination record or info to give her.
  4. We ended up keeping the pup to run on. The listing states the pup is a different breed, sex and colour to the one the chip actually belongs too. The website has decided to keep the ad, had it been in a newspaper or a different advertising medium l think something could have been done but some poor person is going to buy that pup believing it is pure bred with papers and microchipped. l just hope some BYB using my chip number and claiming to be a reg breeder does not cause me any drama.
  5. We've contacted the site but they feel the requirements are being meet, l offered to scan a copy of the AAR paperwork so l guess it's a case of buy beware. The ad does say it is purebred with papers too
  6. l think we all aim to produce pups that will be great companions for their families. l'm talking about the reg breeders that produce constant pups for 5 + different breeds who are only breeing for the pet market but have flashy website and cute pictures. Just because your buying from a registered breeder does not mean all the boxes have been ticked. The general public need to know the questions to ask, what to look for and most have no idea on genetic testing.
  7. l don't think so, many sites will delete Vic ads now if the chip number is not advertised so l guess they went hunting thru old adds for a number to use.
  8. We just had an email from a lady saying she was buying a puppy advertised online that she has contacted the breeder and googled their email address and the chip number advertised in the ad and found a listing of mine from Jan and that the same microchip number is being used. Chip belongs to a different breed, colour and sex than that advertised. Bit cheeky
  9. We have just moved and the neighbours dog howls at sirens, l havn't seen the dog yet but it is a really quiet howl sounds like the poor thing is in pain. l've never heard anything like it. My dogs just look at the fence wondering whats going on.
  10. We have 6 x cocker spaniels and as off last week a min pin too.
  11. Yeah and she lodged the complaint on my birthday too
  12. l got my entries back in the mail today, it seems they went MIA and missed the closing date. Bit disappointed as we have paid for accom already
  13. l'm all for advertising anywhere a BYB does, it gives the buyers another option. It's suprising how many people think they can't afford a pedigree pup, don't know where to get one from or the benefits of buying from a registered breeder, alot of puppy buyers arn't aware of health conditions that affect my breed. l'm dissapointed at the number of breeders on DOL that advertise ********* is a boutique kennel specializing in companion dogs. To me this is breeding for the pet and commercial market.
  14. The ones listed are the only ones in Vic. My gold boy would stop dead to toilet the first few times we were at 12km/ph and l had to let go of the lead or l would fall off, l soon learned the tell tale signs and that he would go between 1km and 1.2km's on the day of the ET l advised the handler behind me that he would stop dead in his tracks between 1km and 1.2km and true to his training he did and the handler behind me was prepared for it. On the up side he learned to pee while running which would have been great but he's a cocker spaniel and the wind would blow it all thru his coat.
  15. Yeah we live in Vic and done one in Canberra last year. After a nasty fall on the weekend l have a fracture to the back of my skull so that ends my ET trianing for the May ET in Vic, the girl we were doing it with is on a lease and the breeders are egar to have her back for a litter, she is a tiny little thing so we started her last month. Now we have the June one to aim for.
  16. l had a nightmare with my prefix l had one allocated then my mother objected to it being too close to hers some 4 1/2 months later, puppies papers had to be returned another 50 choices sent off and l finally got one allocated.
  17. l think it's a shame, l get excited when l go to a show and see a few vendors there with goodies to buy. Just because there is only one vendor there does not mean your going to buy from them, l needed to get something this weekend and expected John & Ang to be there but will just wait for the next show now.
  18. My 7 year old daughter shows her own cocker spaniel, she's not strong enough to lift her up on the table yet, another 12 months and she'll be right. She can lift her down. When we give the steward our numbers l inform them the junior bitch is being handled by a junior and will need a lift on then when called for her class, l ask the steward if they would like me to lift the dog on the table. l've never had a steward ask me to do it or been refuse, they just pop her up and my daughter stacks her. My other daughter started showing her cocker at 8 years and he would put his front feet on the table and look behind waiting to he lifted up. Now she's big enough to lift him herself.
  19. How disappointing these pupppies are cross bred who knows what they will look like when they finish maturing, right now they look like pit bull crossing but give them a chance bull mastiffs are slow to mature and who really knows what a bull mastiff, American bulldog and staffordshire cross pup looks like at 7 months. The pups have done nothing wrong they have not been found at large, the owners tried to have them registered and are being punished for doing all the right things.
  20. Just got back from the vet and a lady was there with her newborn GSD's having their first vet check and checking mum hadn't retained anything. The vet filled out a vacc card with the pups identi tag colour then stappled the pups microchip which was in a small sealed bag with the sheet of numbers to each card. The breeder now knows which chip is going in which pup she will just bring them back at 6 weeks for the vaccination and to insert the chip.
  21. Commercial breeders or registered breeders with 10 or more fertile dogs apply for their licence thru their local council. It's then the council/ rangers responsibility to ensure they are breeding a in a suitable manner and to remove or refunse to grant a licence if they don't meet the minimum standards for animal welfare outlined in the Code Commercial breeders don't need to advetise each chip number due to the large volume of pups they are sellling just their licence number.
  22. That was my understanding too, you can have the chip assigned to the pup but it must be inserted before the pup leaves for it's new home. Shopping yesterday l heard a lady complaining she was advertising her oopsie litter of cattle dog x puppies and it was going to cost $ xxxx more to advertise in the local paper because she now had to have the microchipped and the vet would want them vaccinated too then the extra words in the add to include the chip numbers would all add up to more than she was asking for the puppies ($50 each) Her friend commented it would be easier to send them to the RSPCA. Interesting animals advertised as free to go home don't need to be microchipped prior to be handed over.
  23. We are heading to Mt Gambier over Easter and will be bringing a Neuter along.
