  1. I think that is adorable and too cute from the little girl ;)
  2. Paul, Dante and Jed - thankyou very much for your replies! :D Jed - Charlie will be 10 weeks of age - but only just! I am and was quite happy to wait for him a bit longer, but this is me actually fitting in with what the breeder suggested in regards to flying him to Perth. I am concerned, I must admit it, but want to take every precautionary step that I can, to ensure he arrives safely and in good health. I will be speaking to my breeder again tomorrow, so will politely insist (in the nicest possible way) on some type of water bottle with glucodin to be put in is crate. I dont see any dramas with that as she has been very helpful and of course advised me to take the glucodin to the airport when I pick him up from the airport in the first place. But too actually supply it to him on his way over, is a much better idea!! Will most definitely keep you updated when he arrives. And again I thankyou very much for your information and replies :D
  3. This absolutely cracked me up :D - the way he is sitting on the couch with the light turned on and a pile of books by his side, as if to say - why did you interrupt my reading? Or better yet waiting to give a lecture on what he just read And this is just - no other words for it "REGAL" :D ;) I love all your pics - so great!!
  4. Oooohhh didnt even think of David Bowie!!! and I adore Labyrinth!!! One of my kiddies favourite movies to watch!! Ziggy of the Victorious Paw sounds fantastic lol! Edited to add: If I tell my Dad he will be strutting around like a proud papa - even though he doesnt even visit these forums!!! I am sure he would some how, some where, think you are naming the dog after him, even though he doesnt know you lol
  5. I pick up my chihuahua from the airport on the 15th of November, and I am worried about little Charlie becoming hypoglycemic on the flight (hes coming in from Sydney - I am in Perth) as he is only a young boy. At this stage I tend on taking a syringe mixed with water and glucodin, in case he does appear to be suffering, but am a little bit unsure on what else to provide for him... Has anybody had any experience in toy breeds with hypoglycemia? Could you please tell me of your experience with it... Is it similar to what an insulin dependent person suffering from low blood sugar would go through? I just want to make sure I am prepared and have all my bases covered. Thankyou in advance
  6. Kemah are you hoping to show her? I cant believe how big the Neapolitan Mastiffs look - but so regal too
  7. Wow another fan of Tilly' ears How cute are they!
  8. Bracken I have to laugh at the name Ziggy - my fathers name is actually Zygmund (he gets Ziggy of course) - but its meaning in old german is "victorious hand" or "protector". I actually love the name Wow, that IS a long wait Kemah!!! But you must be so excited about finding a breeder!!! Please, please supply us with puppy pictures that would be fantastic!! Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you that all goes well
  9. Wow Simple what an absolute sweetiepie! She looks so adorable! And your daughter? looks so happy with her It looks as though she has always been there Cant wait to see airport pickup pictures too!
  10. Congrats Bracken!!! How exciting and look at all that puppy breath there!!!
  11. Ahhhh Simple she looks like a real sweetiepie! How is she settling in?
  12. Charlie is coming from Sydney - and arrives in Perth at 2.15pm We are all so excited here its just not funny! I feel as though I am preparing to give birth Here he is wanting to get out of his cage and play
  13. So excited Just had confirmation today that I will be able to pick up Charlie the Chihuahua on the 15th of Nov. Only 11 more days to go and counting
  14. Congrats on your puppy Dju - bad case of puppy envy here Parrotpea - it sounds as though you made the right decision then! The breeder I have been in contact with has been so helpful, even when I wasnt able to purchase a puppy of her. I popped down to the shows she introduced me to other breeders and also recommended ones for me from interstate and gave me their numbers as well as sending out an introductory emails. It sounds as though I have been very lucky in meeting up with her, going from your details. Crossing my fingers for you on the 13th
  15. What an absolute cutie!!! Just want to give snuggles and smell all that puppy breath
  16. Thanks Naomi! I know that puppy clucky feeling very well I've had one half of the walk in filled with puppy stuff for a while now too
  17. Hi Lady0421 The breeder didnt give us a list of names, she had been calling the little boy "puppy". When it was confirmed that we were going to be able to purchase him, she kindly asked us is there was a name we would like her to start calling him Hence my girls coming up with the list to chose from - and from there Charlie I dont think its rude at all to ask your breeder which one is yours. However, all of those pups look absolutely adorable!!!
  18. I dont know how old your kiddies are, but we have a puppy arriving in a couple of weeks time, and what I've done with my kiddies is work out an area that my children are allowed to take turns with Charlie (My girls are 9 and 11). Our kitchen, dining, and living is open plan, but I have bought some gates to place into the doorways that dont have doors and that I dont want Charlie to have access too. Basically for us its a corner that I can view from any of these 3 areas. If I have to do something out of there - Charlie goes into his playpen, and my kids already know that this is an off limits area. The other rule I have laid down, being that a chihuahua puppy is so small, is to reinforce to my girls that even though tiny, first and foremost he is a dog. Dogs play and react differently than your friends. Another rule is and I know this will be hard when he first arrives, is that Charlie must approach them first - at least until he has had time to settle and get more comfortable with his surroundings. I think one of the biggest things I have learnt from DOL is that routine is a must, yet its never to late to implement one Good luck!
  19. yes he sure is The breeder gave me the option of naming him - this was my girls decision and I have to admit it was one of the better ones! I had to diplomatically fend off; Sparkles Gizmo Prince Daffy Wiz Ju Ju and would you believe Flower! Didnt matter to them whether he was a boy or a girl! Thankfully my oldest is a huge fan of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and sense prevailed when she suggested Charlie. So Charlie the Chihuahua it is
  20. I finally have a little one coming to me as well Should be arriving in 2 - 3 weeks time - and his name is Charlie Yay for puppy breath!
  21. Good luck to Barney and yourself! Will be thinking of you both
