We ended up buying a double-duty harness for Akira. We bought it from the vet, but since we bought it I've had a look and found the exact same one on eBay for a LOT cheaper! (Link) Basically the back has both a D ring that you can use for a lead, but the nylon on the back is doubled and the seatbelt goes through the hole in between the two straps. Akira was fairly placid in the car before we got that harness, but she tended to move around a bit because the lead that clipped into the buckle gave her wriggle room. Now she just sits there and can even lay down and go to sleep.

The other day I was walking down the main street of Tanunda with Akira (we didn't want to leave her at my Mum's house when we made a short trip to get groceries) and someone had two huge Rottweilers tied in the back of a parked ute very loosely (the owner wasn't there). Every time someone walked past them they would start barking and growling and looking like they were going to jump out of the tray and hurt someone. We made sure we were on the opposite side of the road so they wouldn't see Akira, but what sort of idiot leaves two potentially aggressive dogs tied in a ute by themselves?

My puppy has completely destroyed her bed, though she's teething so I'm not completely surprised. We stuffed all the foam back in and sewed it up so that we're not needing to buy her another one because we know the same thing will happen. She has a beanbag inside the lounge room though that she hasn't even thought of destroying, so perhaps it's the difference between the beans and the foam.

I've been feeding my puppy Supercoat Puppy and she's been thriving. She was fed chicken carcasses as a baby, and when we got her her coat was very coarse. We started her on the Supercoat and now her coat is soft and fluffy and her dandruff has lessened considerably. The vet was very happy with the improvement.

I think she'd love to be a mother, will have to see how things go as to if she does or doesn't have a litter. Lyndsay, has Holly met Bree yet? My puppy's markings aren't really that unusual, but everyone comments on her face.
