  1. My girl does this and she has started doing it more and more lately. She doesn't do it for the attention though. I was really worried when she first started but im used to it now.
  2. You have room for human meat in yours? I get the tiny little basket in my deep freeze and that's it, the rest is dog food Couldn't go back to paying full price ever again though, buying in bulk pays for the freezer in no time.
  3. Thanks everyone for your comments. I wont be taking him off heartworm preventative if there is no scientific proof that the holistic remedy works. I might just swap over to a heart worm tablet and use holistic treatment for fleas etc. That way i can see if it actually works. For his health i want to keep him as chemical free as possible, but i wont risk his life for it.
  4. That is what i was thinking. My reason for looking into it is that he has had an allergic reaction and i am trying to eliminate as many chemicals from his body as possible, but i just don't know that i can risk it if there is no scientific evidence of it's effectiveness.
  5. I am wanting to change my dogs onto holistic heart worm, flee and intestinal wormer but i am not completely convinced that it is risk free. Have there been any studies on the effectiveness of holistic parasite prevention? I am currently using revolution plus an all wormer and i noticed last month a long white worm in one of their poos last month after i applied the revolution. That wouldn't be a heart worm would it? I can't imagine them coming out in the poo, but it was wierd because i hadn't all wormed them
  6. I have Wahl, thinning and straight shears. I do really like them. I tried a pair of Jag in the shop and they felt really great, i will probably try them next if i get a few spare bob Haven't tried them on a dog yet though.
  7. Yep the smell has never bothered my dog, i have changed her to green lipped muscles now and she loves them too even though they smell.
  8. She should probably go and tell the new tenants. Most rental managers wouldn't even bother to pass on the message. Terrible if someone moves in there with their dogs and they get parvo
  9. The problem is that the vaccine doesn't stop dogs from getting parvo completely, just builds up an immunity so the body fights it off better. An adult dog that is vaccinated can still get parvo, it just wont be as bad. They can also still carry the virus without showing any symptoms and shed it so it spreds.
  10. Have to agree. I think you have to have the mixutre of bleach to water pretty exact too or it's useless, may be wrong, but i think i read that somewhere. What was that bleach you used Nat that was specific for killing parvo? I think that one is good. But yeah, id throw the kennel out.... I also hope she informed the new occupants of her old house!
  11. When thinking in terms of 'natural' feeding you also need to think about the level of exercise and energy that would have been expended in order to get that meal. A much higher protein diet would be required naturally to counteract that energy expenditure. Our dogs today just sit and drool while waiting for dinner to be served in a nice bowl, not much energy expenditure there :D
  12. Nope it's the one in the new section near safeways, near Brumbies Bakery.
  13. What about muscle/soft tissue/etc growth that puts strain on undeveloped bones causing them to weaken and grind?
  14. Where are you TSD? A chicken shop near me seels the frames with the bums attached and they have alot of fat and skin, this might be suitable.
  15. Others will give you advice on what to feed and supplement, but please do not supplement with calcium. Do a search on calcium supplementation, you will find many threads on why you should never do this
  16. I can now answer that, and yes she is. Had our first session today, both dogs are now sleeping away. It was The Mitchell Method that was used. Will have another session in about a week. I am also starting her on Green Lip Muscle extract as per Bowen Therapist's advice
  17. I have no idea, what does that mean? Saturday will be our first session.... She is very highly regarded though.
  18. I'm South East Vic IHF, thanks anyway. Sounds like it's pretty standard to have a few sessions to get it right then, I just dont want to waste the money if there is something else I could be doing that would be more beneficial..... Trifecta, my pup is having Bowen done on Saturday, i will give her a call and see what she says, maybe a mixture of both would be beneficial? Her back hasn't been out for that long, I didn't even know it was out until I took her to the vet because she was licking her chest. So does it hold better the more you do it? I have never had chiro myself so would have no idea.
  19. My 10 year old Kelpie had chiro last week on her back and the pain seemed to be gone for 24 hours. The pain is now back again and i called the chiro who said that her back may have been out for sometime and that sometimes the manipulations don't hold and they pop back out. She cannot say whether a second round of chiro will hold or not. I would have to pay full price again even though the pain only disappeared for 24 hours max, which im not too happy about. I don't want to go having the chiro done again if it wont hold. Any suggestions as to different treatment I can undertake to help? Could Bowen be effective? My vet also suggested acupuncture, but I don't see how this would help?????
  20. Never mind, i didn't realise this was an old thread, haha. I thought it had come back I was wondering why you were asking
  21. A few years back I gave Tyler a 'Bully Stick' They seemed really good and when i went back to the shop, i took one up to the counter and asked what they were made of, they said penis.... i promptly dropped it
  22. More Omega Oil and switch back to the EPO shampoo Possibly just the change in the weather.
  23. I have too agree, if your friend didn't want to feed meat, why get a meat eating animal? It's like getting a fish but not wanting to keep it in water.
  24. Yep we had this too. Firstly with his front teeth, than the canines. If the teeth are wobley, than don't worry at all. The adult canines will push the babies out with no problem. If they don't (which I can't see likely at all) it's called Retained Deciduous Canines if you need to google it
