  1. I like the pink and gold one. Have asked a question where you've got the picture up on your page.
  2. They're my braided things...leads, collars, martingales etc. Sounds interesting. Any piccies?
  3. My mother in law does this to kill her weeds and I'm giving it a go tomorrow where the garden beds are as I hate weeding. How close to my plants can I go without killing them though?
  4. I have no problem with them developing their own breed and if they manage to register them evenutally then good on them. What I DO have a problem with it is that they are bastardising the name of the Labradore and Poodle. Give the breed a proper name and I wouldn't give a toss what they do.
  5. I'm the same too. I HATE the rain and will not show in it - unless it starts raining when I'm there and already set up. I really don't think I will get there but there will be plenty of time to catch up. We all go to the same shows due to lack of variety so we are bound to run into you at some stage. Good luck to all those Tasweigans that are brave enough to show up on Saturday.
  6. I'm not entered but I was going to try and make a huge effort to come and visit. It's been over a year since i've set foot in a show. Not sure if I'll get there though. Got quite a few things planned for this weekend BUT I have entered Royal Hobart Show (group 5 is on the Wednesday) and I've entered Dogfest too. Would love to meet you Allerzeit so if it's not this weekend hopefully it will be sometime soon.
  7. I also had a maiden bitch give birth to 11 puppies. She free whelped all with little intervention and fed them all until I started weaning at almost 4 weeks. All puppies were born with either average to above average weights. The smallest pup was the weight of a normal pup from a regular sized litter. I am big on NO intervention (meaning I don't supplement feed) and I did not intervene. They all grew very healthy and to this day (they are all now two) they are healthy and happy, well balanced dogs. Mum and pups were fed and raised on a raw diet with no commercial food whatsoever. Good luck with your litter.
  8. eh working line Malinois vs commodore interior. she's even ripped the spare tyre up out of the well it sits in. My fault for not crating her as she's trained Sorry a little Nekhbet, one of my Groenendaels pulled out a $350 grey water pump and ripped it to shreds, she also dug two holes at the bottom of my dog traier. (in two different bays) She's destroyed countless hoses and loves to dig to China quite frequently. This is not necessarily a working line trait.
  9. oh, not another sleep talker? Some strange person jumped out of her bed one night and yelled "im going to get you before you get me" and went back to sleep..... Yes, how rude. So much for getting any sleep.
  10. Aww, I think I have a bit of dust in my eye. I reember her so well even though she was out of a litter of 11. She was such a cheeky and happy girl and so very well rounded. When I got the enquiry from BB I knew that they were both made for each other. Thanks BB for giving her such a wonderful and loving home. Give my little Black Ivory a big hug and kiss from her old ma.
  11. yep they cut away the vocal cords. Normally there is still a bit of scar tissue left allowing the dog to emitt a low hoarse sound. There is a lot of negative stigma attached to this procedure but I have no idea why. Its a fairly simple operation and the dog still thinks he can bark so I dont see the harm in it for chronic barkers. Its just like a dog with no balls, he doesnt miss them. I totally agree. It is not as cruel as some make it out to be. In fact it is more invasive and painful to de-sex than it is to de-bark.
  12. I think at this point she's just playing rough without realising that it's not on. I'm just guessing/generalising as I haven't seen her doing it. Perhaps rather than reprimand maybe work on her re-call. This way if she starts to play rough or display behaviour that you aren't happy with you can call her off and reward her for it. Distraction in most circumstances is better than reprimand.
  13. Thank you. Yes she has been desexed. How old is she and how long ago was she desexed? I would imagine she's just testing the waters. Some puppies (or young dogs) are overzealous and do push the boundaries. They don't have the manners yet that comes from an older stable dog. My puppies have what I call a 'puppy licence' when they live here. The older dogs are very tollerant of them (sometimes more than they or of each other) but as the puppy gets older the pack do become less tollerant of them and their antics. Perhaps some more controlled socialisation will help? Also maybe taking her to regular training might be a good idea where she will be around other dogs in a controlled environment.
  14. Has she being de-sexed? I know my bitches start to display this behavour once they start to reach maturity.
  15. Good to hear that you are on the mend Jed. Although I haven't been posting regularly I have had you in my thoughts and prayers constantly.
  16. Yay! So happy to hear the good news. Thanks Toohey for the many and much appreciated updates.
  17. Thank you so very much for the update. to you. I know Jane is a friend of yours.
  18. Thank you Lesley for taking the time for update. I can only imagine how busy and tired you must be right now. Thank heavens Jed has you and so many very good friends around her. Well done to each and every one that has helped including prayers, thoughts and positive vibes. She still continues to be in my thoughts and my prayers are constantly with her.
  19. My thoughts and prayers have been with Jed since hearing this awful awful news. I continue to pray for her to recover. RIP to her babies that didn't make it. May they all wait at the bridge with all of her babies of old running free an happy. Steve, Lesley and everyone else involved in helping her even though they themselves are grieving for what has happened. Thank you.
  20. :p I know exactly how you are feeling. :p I'm so very very sorry for your loss. Run free Bear at the bridge
  21. Really? So if a breeder sells a puppy with entropian on all four lids, cherry eye, skin allergies, etc the puppy owner should wear those costs??? Sorry, but that is not fair. If someone forks out for a pedigree puppy, they should get something healthy!! If they dont want to send the pup back, and get a full refund, then yes, that is fair.If they wish to keep the pup,why should the breeder then have to keep paying for vet bills past the purchase price when they do have the option to send it back and get a refund. Dogs can get sick, develop problems same as a human can, despite being from healthy parents and i think to refund/replace or in this case pay for op,is fair. I know someone who has spent thousands on their dog who developed allergies to pretty much everything environmental-he requires weekly injections, sometimes twice a week of the specialist allergy injection, they have chosen to pay for it rather than send the dog back -their choice, they have to wear the cost. Flame suit firmly in place. This is what I would do also. But I have my pups fully examined by a vet prior to it leaving here and the pup also comes with 6 weeks health cover. I always encourage my puppy buyers to continue with the health cover. However, it has not yet been clarified that pup was free of these things at the time that it left the breeder. In this senario IF the pup had any one of the listed conditions and the new owners were unaware of this then the breeder should be held accountalbe for the health costs.
