  1. Someone suggested to her it could be a form of palsy.
  2. I think she is looking at taking him to another vet for a second opinion. Not to sure what specialist if any that are available in Townsville.
  3. No bacteria either. We thought maybe he snapped a ligament or something but then it happened to other side face. He peed hayley bed last night. Didnt even move to pee just lay there. On the up side he was very happy this morn wanted a walk too.
  4. Thanks for the replies so far. I am just trying to find out what the xrays showed. Will let you know once I find out.
  5. Hi everyone, I am posting this on behalf of a friend. She has a 7month old pup which she got from the RSPCA. I will paste what she has put on Facebook so I don't get the details wrong. My 7mth old puppys head distorted over night. And he cant open jaw. Spent a fortune at vet and they dont know what it is. Been a week now. Xrays showed nothing so they thinking it muscular skeletal. He seems to not be in pain will euthanise him if that happens. Any ideas people They took syringes there no infection nothing. Its like a rock. On top head and side face. They thinking it internal so we giving him asprin and antibiotics just in case and benadryl. No change in him. Still wants to love. Jaw only opens a bit and there is a long large lump on his head over right side and on left cheek. It literally happenned over night. We thought it was muscle but first vet said grass seed which turned out wrong. Solid no muscle spasms If anyone has any suggestions as to what it may be it will be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
  6. I have one of the Silver Eagle Cool Champion coats for my Chi and he loves it. It's the best thing we have bought as he doesn't like the heat at all. I think that was about $60 for that but its a small size. I would certainly recommend these coats and would buy another in the future if need be. :)
  7. OMG What a little sweetie Beebee is. She certainly doesn't let anything stop her. :)
  8. I use Advocate on Bud every month and give him a tapeworm tablet every 3 months. He has been having this since he was a pup and we have never had a problem
  9. My OH and I live on the road in our caravan along with our Chi Bud who sleeps in the bed with us and has no trouble pushing us to the edges. For a small dog he certainly takes up a lot of room. He is currently taking up half of the lounge with me sitting on the edge but like everyone else I wouldn't have it any other way. I would be lost without him. :)

    Chihuahua

I use these ones as well. Even though my Chi is 2 yrs he I still buy these ones.
  11. I use Advocate monthly on my dog. We are travelling around Australia and I would prefer to have him protected for all the areas we are going into. I think better to be safe than sorry.
  12. What a beautiful picture and a heart warming story.
  13. Maybe that is why he wont eat the natural yoghurt as it does have a tangy/sour taste to it. I will give the Vaalia natural yoghurt a go also. Thanks again guys
  14. Thanks for all your replies. I have tried mixing it in his meat but he still wouldnt eat it. I think I will try Noctrl's suggestion and try and get him to eat the natural one by mixing it into his vanilla one. I can only try :) Thanks again guys
  15. Hi guys I want my Chi to have some yoghurt everyday but I cant get him to eat the natural ones. I actually gave him some of the Jalna vanilla yoghurt today and he polished this off no worries. Is it ok to give dogs flavoured yoghurt instead of just natural??
  16. Bud (Chi) will eat banana, apple, loves carrot. He will also eat potatoe and pumpkin. Loves hot chips.
  17. Looks like Bear's pressie is a great hit. The weather is revolting here in Perth at the moment isn't it. We are in Rivervale. Thank god for airconditioning. I think Bud is greatful for it as well. Stay cool everyone!!! :)
  18. You could be right raineth but he has done this from the time we got him. He was about 17wks old when we got him. He also hasn't been socialised with other dogs(which is a completely different topic) as we missed the socialisation period and were working on a station which believe it or not didn't have any other dogs living there. Other dogs would come for a visit with their owners but he would just goes mental when he saw them or they came too close. I might have to check out the Euk reg sized kibble and see if it's the same and if so try him that. Once again thanks for all the replies :)
  19. Yep definately a Chi moosepup. He drives me crazy when it comes to him eating. Somedays he will eat his dinner straight away other times he wont eat anything. It has taken me ages to find something that he will eat but like I just said he doesn't always eat it. He is given his kibble in the morning which he usually doesn't eat until I come home and then he is given his dinner anywhere between 6 and 7.30pm. He has kangaroo mixed with whatever kibble is leftover in his bowl with some grated carrot and cheese occassionally he gets cooked chicken breast which he would have all the time if he had his way. Probably not the best dinner but if I try and give him anything else he doesn't eat it. It's going to be interesting form Thursday onwards as my OH and I are going away for 5 days so he is staying with my mum. Hopefully he will eat while he is there.
  20. Thanks for all your replies. Bud is our only dog. I don't think putting it over the lawn would help as I put his biscuits down in the morning before I go to work but he doesn't eat them straight away. He doesn't actually eat anything until I get home. That's when he usaully hoovers his kibble down. Even if I leave him his favourite treat out before going out he wont eat it until I get back. I might give the treat ball a go and see if that slows him down a bit otherwise I will just keep an eye on him when he's eating them.
  21. Hi everyone, My Chi Bud has Eukanuba biscuits for small breeds. He is doing well on them and since being on them his coat etc seem to be much better. My worry is when he eats them he gets them in his mouth and just swallows them. He may chew them sometimes but more often than not he just swallows. When he does this he stops to stretch sometimes like he is having trouble getting them to go down. I'm not sure how I can fix this problem as I don't want him to end up choking on them. I thought maybe I need to change biscuits but he can be fussy at times so I don't really want to change as he seems happy with these ones. Any advice would be great :)
  22. Hi guys, my OH and I have done a bit a travelling with our Chi - Bud in our caravan and haven't had any real problems. We are planning on hitting the road again this April. We do a fair bit of free camping and only go into caravan parks when we need to restock. If we want to do things where we cant take Bud we will look at putting him into a kennel. Enjoy your trip!!!
