  1. I am signed up for Recallers 4.0. My computer had a "glitch" & deleted my password as well as the E Mail address of the ADMIN. person to contact if one has trouble logging on

Are you able to see a contact E mail for the ADMIN. person

I have looked on the say yes web site & even on Susans facebook page but am unable to get a contact persons details

    Thanks

  2. I am ecstatic! VIOLET won Highest Point Score In Trial, in Obedience, with 195 points, from Utility (U.D.) Class & then went on to win the run offs against all other Class Winners & so VIOLET is the 2013 Obedience Winners of Winners, Poodle National

This is especially meaningful to me cause Violet will be 11 soon & this is her last National as a competitor. There were 33 competitors, & some very delight performances in all classes

ROXY missed out on a UDX pass (her 1st UDX attempt), due to ME anticipating judges orders on the STAND in Positions In Motion exercise. (Bugger). AND I overturned for the Multiple retrieve which would have caused her a substantial deduction. However, Roxy worked so enthusiastically & so well, that I have faith that when I am trained a bit better, she will get the title .

  3. Above is a link to (1st shown the 11 year old Violet) & Roxys Excellent B runs in which they attained their R.A.E. Rally titles

Several other dogs succumbed to the temptation of a big black & white toy monkey & a tub of garlic baked liver, both placed conspicuously on either side of the off set figure 8 station......VERY tempting!

  4. At Southern Obedience trial yesterday, my Standard Poodles, Roxy & Violet both finished their Rally Advanced Excellent (RAE), titles from Excellent B, both with perfect scores of 100. Violet got 1st place as she was 2 seconds faster than Roxy. I am so lucky to have such wonderful dogs to work with! These dogs are so much FUN to train, work with & live with. Violet is almost 11 & this was her 14th title gained. Roxy just turned 4 & this was her 13th title gained.

  5. TODAY, Send an EXPRESS REGISTERED Letter with a check/money order returning her deposit in full

    Keep a copy

Her actions are like a neon sign saying "Given my current situation, I am now unsure about getting a pup"

There are people who realize getting a pup is not such a good idea after giving a deposit & are worried they may lose their deposit

MOST people that are that are so unsure are happy to get back their deposit

IF you take the pup to a Vet for a POSSIBLE concern you can tell her you are refunding because there is a possible concern

keep copies of ALL correspondence & Vet receipt

AND do not panic, you will find the RIGHT home

  6. I had 6 pups to go to 3 states on Sunday

Saturday night at midnight, I finally finished bathing, clipping scissoring, feeding them a special going away supper

THANK GOD, Wayne let me know the Tunnel to Westgate/Tullamarine FWY from S.E. subs. was closed

I had to check in pups at airport (75 KM approx.,from me), at 6:30AM so I left home at 4:30AM, to give myself alot of extra time, in case I got lost doing the detours (They were NOT marked at all)

I did get lost three times. Lucky very little traffic! I finally found my way through the city using a few very questionable U turn maneuvers. CRIKEY!!I then missed the turn off for the airport, which came up very quickly compared to what it would be when using the tunnel. YIKES!!!!

I found myself on the bridge going to Geelong. STRESS! Some quick thinking & not quite orthodox manuevers & I got to airport 10 minutes early. RELIEF!

Wayne arrived at airport at 6:30AM to help organize the pups MY HERO!

He had all 6 clean new crates labelled & ready for me to add their baby blankets toys, a biscuit & some water

I was terribly worried about the long trip to MacKay for 1 pup. Wayne rang Brisbane to ask for special care of a pup who had to catch another flight to MACKAY. The Brisbane people took such good care of her! Wayne then rang every receiver to insure they had their pup safely in their arms. THANKS WAYNE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  7. Some people, especially pensioners, may not have access to a car

I am wondering if the walk to the supermarket is the dogs & the owner's main exercise period of the day

IF a dog has shade/shelter, (&water if hot day) & is at least being taken for an outing, & is not acting in an aggressive manner, I see know reason why it can not be tethered outside for up to 15 minutes

A longer period is probably too stressful

Usually people go by & ooo & ahh at the dogs left outside MY local Safeway

I do see a few barking stressed little dogs but most are verbally reassured & fussed over by passers by

I have put my 2 big very polite, & trained dogs in a Sit Stay outside my local bakery, (under cover & only for 5 minutes) while I bought bread or pick up my mail from my PO Box

They get to share a sausage roll reward for staying

I can see them from the shop P.O. window at all times

I sometimes do not feel like driving & the 3KM exercise is great for all of us

We sometimes walk the 1.5 KM back & forth from my home on a bike track, so the walk has a purpose

When I was a kid (in the Dark Ages)EVERYONE, I mean EVERYONE, walked their dogs to the shops

About 30 years ago, had a gorgeous 6 months old Springer show dog stolen from outside a shop. Now, I never ever ever leave MY dogs where I can not SEE them, from the shop window

  8. I just wanted to publicly thank Wayne/Wayrod for great customer service

He assisted me in organizing & smoothly transporting 8 1/2 weeks old puppies to their new forever homes, homes in 3 different states, on the same day.

Thanks Wayne for going above & beyond & especially for showing up at the airport, to assist at the ungodly hour of 6:30AM

&meeting at the airport before dawn & having it all so very well organized.

  9. I watched this months ago and can't bring myself to watch it again. The idea that anybody thinks that is dog training is just disgusting.

The dogs are on prong collars if I remember correctly :( Horrible use of that tool, and just a horrible way to treat dogs in general. Dog panics, hits prong collar, panics harder, hits prong collar harder... just horrifying.

How could you put your dog through that? How could you watch that? Even before they set off the firecracks, the dogs are all unhappy/stressed. They're all "powerful" driven breeds too, malinois and GSDs. There are OTHER WAYS to train these breeds people :(!

Have a cute video of my working line GSD and kitten to cleanse your soul of that horrible video.

for anyone interested, the ""trainer""" is Warren Diffey, of Team Red K9.

IMHO this should be labelled as sadistic & abusive behavior NOT "proofing" where one HELPS the animal suceed/get it right, under distracting circumstances, in order to BUILD CONFIDENCE, not destroy confidence

To me the instructor appeared to be ignorant of of when why & how & at what level, to proof dogs to distractions To me he appeared determined to set up these already frightened dogs, with their ears back in a hunched posture, & owners in threatening stance) to be wrong/punished. Not only are they going to be more frightened to assume the position of a Drop Stay, they are now going to associate severe punishment with distractions

& lose all trust of their owners !!!

  10. G'Day I am sending a Silver Standard Poodle, an 8 week old male puppy, to a couple in Adelaide.

The puppy has a lovely nature. He will be a much loved pet/companion, who the couple plan to "take "everywhere" with them. We are looking for reccomendations for a well run, Puppy Pre School, which is rewards based & for carefully organized, (not chaotic), puppy socialization opportunities

I am not sure if Steve at K9 is in Adelaide or if K 9 runs puppy classes?

IF anyone has recomendations, I would be most grateful Please E Mail me privately on [email protected]

    Thanks

    Linda web site http://www.gidaypoodles.com

  11. Very happy! Ultrasound showed 6 Standard Poodle puppies due March 7th.

This is our 2nd & final litter for 2013. Mum is very special girl as she is a Certifed Assitance & Therapy dog & has brought great joy to the lives of some very deserving humans.

  12. Thanks to ALL the organizers for putting in so much time & effort!

Thanks especially to Dawn Ayton, & Noeline McIlroy, for your endless energy!

That they managed to get everything set up & ready with in that space is amazing!

The space we were allocated was small, uneven & oddly shaped.

The kids rides were, literally 3 meters from our rings & the Shetland Poiny Rides 1 meter away.

    We all had fun anyway

EIGHT CLASSES/EIGHT PASSES yesterday for me!

    Roxy & Violet got 8 Passes with 3 X 1st places in Excellent. B. & Advanced B.

I was rushing around so much, watching/supporting friends my & students, that I forgot to walk some of MY OWN courses & I made a few silly handler errors. The Shetland Pony backing into the ring ropes in the corner while we were doing the back up exercise , did not help our concentration either LOL

I was so tired by 6Pm that I could barely manage to drive home

I was thrilled, watching Jodie Munting & her 12 months old male Boxer, Oliver, performing absolutely beautifully, with HUGE ditractions, in Advanced . Mia, Jodie's PUG, was brilliant too & now is the 1st PUG, with an Advanced Rally O. title in OZ. Sue Collier & "Waldo" the black Mini Schnauzer , worked beautifully, scoring 98 & 95 out of 100. It was their 1st time competing in Advanced. My heart was singing just watching these guys work. "Pepper" perked up in the afternoon, as soon as we let her soak herself in cool water. "Pepper is Margaret Widelock's very old & completely deaf Portugese Water Dog . They managed a respectable Pass in EXCELLENT Rally O, & now 1 to go for EX. title.

  13. G'Day

I would be most grateful for any up to date reccomendations/contact info., for dog friendly accomodation within very easy access to Hume Fwy,

Location would be (approximately), 1/2 from Melbourne to Sydney, near Hume Fwy.

I need something that will allow dogs inside. If there are choices, I would prefer a more "upmarket" place.

Please feel free to E Mail me directly, if you wish

    Thank you!!
