Actually pers after I said that i thought it prob is normal lol lol.. Yes I still watch him, he is only in the yard when we are home so as soon as i hear the chicken squark ( sqwark? sp sp ) I look out , but he is so good sits and waits for me to say leave it, then I gently toss her back over the fence ..

Krislin we are have taught rogue to sit with his paw on a chickens back if they fly into the fenced yard.. We have gone from him trotting around the yard proudly with one in his mouth eek ( gently I might add) to sitting with paw on the back.. My chickens are a little weird when they jump in the yard nd rogue spots them they stand still , they do this when I walk up to them to put them back in the pen if they have gotten ou They free range but only when we are home.. Took a lot of work as he is a terrier but I now know the chicken's won't be played with so to speak.. ,

Hubby wants to get a German short haired pointer for our next addition but I am In love :-)

I was told the same thing but waited as I am not desexing Rogue until at least 18mths.. Rogue is 10 mths now and his dropped at just over 6 mths so I am glad I ignored the vet.. My vet pushed from puppy class desex at 6 mths and sent out reminder after reminder, I had to go in and complain as I had no intention of doing that... Since then not a mention :-) blah vets ..

How can you do obediance or any dog sport with a non vaccinated dog?

Yeah stupid, I just felt sick .. I hope the penny dropped today...

I was driving along a busy road and this guy was playing with his gorgeous dog.. As I got closer I thought is he doing what I think he's doing.... Yep , he was throwing a ball right beside a busy road and guess what, the ball bounced on the road. The guy starts calling his dog back, of course its a ball game and he is getting his ball so no he didn't stop .. My heart stopped :-( I don't know how the car infront of me missed him, it would of been so close.. I just can't fathem why anyone would throw a ball beside a busy road...

Goodness me what a ridiculous puppy school trainer.. Rogue was like your guy at puppy school, now at 9 /2 mths he is Mr sociable loves to play with everyone ( bit too sociable sometimes lol ESP at agility formation training ) You will hear things along the way from vets, trainers ,everyday people that you will need to take a step back and digest, take what people say with a grain of salt and if your concerned come here like you have.. Being a first time dog owner you tend to believe everything ,especially from so called professionals, believe me they do not always know what they are talking about which makes it so hard to know what to do ... :-)

Westiemum I just wanted to say what a very kind person you are helping this family out the way you have :-) I am sure this Guy's owner is very very lucky to have your family in his life :-) ..

Puppy_Sniffer what a lovely story :-)

From what I read people think dog one is bored or getting into mischief because it is bored.. They think getting dog number 2 will stop this .. I often wonder if they really think about the added time it will take away from them as in training, general care of 2 dogs when your home from work etc.... I would love 2 dogs for me and for Rogue he loves next doors dog that comes over and I love watching them interact. Then I start thinking about the times its just he and I and how special that is and I think why would happen with 2 dogs would I never get that special time with just one of them :-) I think one day I will get another but a few years down the track maybe when my family is bigger.... Nice thinking about it though, good luck with your decision and I hope it work out for you and your current dog :-)

Vet probably wants her to feed dry food and the brands they have.. My vet told me that bones don't clean dogs teeth only dry food does.. what a load of rubbish , she also was quite put out when i say EVERYTIME I have to go to the vets that i feed raw as she always asks the question , are you still feeding raw? lol lol absolutely I say and look at his beautiful white teeth lol lol..

Rinny if I were you I would not be living in that house when you have children,I can picture it now and if hubby can't stand up to his mother re a dog then you will find her interfering in raising your child aswell.. However good intentioned it is.. I would let go of the dog sounds to me you are fighting a loosing battle...

Rinny I think you need to talk to your partner about your concerns and he really needs to acknowledge your concerns and support you, he needs to step up.. You both need to sit down with your Inlaws and talk to them, open your heart and tell them what your going through... It doesn't have to be a fight just think about what you want to say, but you really need to have the support of your partner... Good luck :-)

I can understand why people do this but your right they need to be a little more carefully written.. sometimes people that have these adds up really have no clue so being tactful can be a better approach..

We have booked our september holidays and chritmas and then easter next year but then we found this one so we have also booked september next year :-) . Before getting Rogue we never went anywhere really, used no money, no time as an excuse but having him join our family has given us a gentle ( haha) push.. We LOVE camping camping September 2013 this place looks beautiful all youout of state people come to QLD :-) watch the you tube video on the page great overview of the place.. camp

I used frontline when we first got rogue but still found fleas on him then went to confortis .. ( love this) but with ticks decided to go advantix , he does scratch a bit but I am yet to find a flea or flea dirt.. Ticks scare me, icky!!

Donatella we live in Brisbane and i use interceptor spectrum for heartworn and all worm protection and then advatix for ticks , my main concern is paralysis tick I apply 2 weekly as i heard a vet in morning side has had an infkux of cases also heard of a few cases at forest lake.. We also back onto bushland ...

I purchased a k9pro crate recently and I an very impressed with the quality and price.. I got a large and it is easy to collapse and put up, love it :-) I bought mine for agility as I have a wire one at home for bed.. Forgot to add it has front, side and top opening, all 4 sides have Velcro flaps that I can roll up and a top also I can roll up and unzip for top access ( great for crate training ie reward) and a pocket and detachable bag ..
