Yeap we have booked her in for tonight.... someone suggested reverse sneezing?? :S
-
On and off Nala will get this cough.. it sounds like there is fluff stuck in her throat and usually thats what I think because she is always tearing appart Gussys toys, but this time there has been no fluff around and she has it again, she drinks fine and eats fine but she cant bark or when she does its very husky and course.... I dont know what it is... it ususally goes away after 2-3 days but im worried other something is stuck in there or she has kennle cough (she has been fully vaccinated and got her booster 2 months ago) OH stuck his fingers down her throat to see if anything was there or to make her bring something up but nothing... any suggestions?? Also should I be keeping Gus away from her now that this odd cough has come up again?

Thanks for that.. i was starting to feel like a bad owner by not feeding him 3 times a day ..... I think that would suit me alot better, feeding him when I get home then again maybe 4 hours later....

Yeap you can buy frozen roo tail, its 2.99 I think a bag and you get 4 big chunks in a bag, its 1 tail cut into 4... its great because its quite meaty and it takes the dogs/pups a while to get through them..... it kind of looks like a giant chicken neck :S hahah

Yea... his just putting on weight so quickly.... about 1kg a week...... so I think ill cut out lunch....not only is it a real pain for me to come home every lunch break to feed him but he seems to be fine with just breaky and dinner..... he gets big bones throught the day so I guess that will do till dinner.. (which it has been) It's usually 3 times a day up until 6 mths, twice a day until 1 yr then daily. The topic came up at a recent conference I went to & the speaker said that in the wild dogs will eat 3 times a day, if they can get it, & she feeds her dogs twice a day. You also have to grow a large breed puppy slowly to protect growing bones & joints. I would also think that as an adult to still feed twice a day so he's not getting all his calories in one hit. Does that age me or what? hmmmm....... well I guess its mid day trips back home for me then hahah.... I just thought he wouldnt need to be fed during the day anymore but thanks for the advise, after that said Ill keep feeding him during the day

Try Roo tails, they are great or bulli chews, Gus had a roo tail the other day (raw) he loved it lasted him a few hours aswell. You can get them from your local petbarn in the freezer section.

If your dog has been taught to chew it will not "gulp" them down..... I would maybe hand feed him a few make sure he knows to chew them..... then supervise him and see how he goes... I think he will be fine, My 12 week old dally still eats chicken necks, he loves them... he chews them very well... he chews everything.

He must be part dally lol..... Gus is a smiler.. wherever he does something naughty and you ask him about it.. there goes his little mouth crunching up -
This is when we introduced Gus and Nala.... there have been many happy days since.
-
It all depends how old he is and if he is accepting all you are feeding. He is 12 weeks, and yes he eats it all fine

Gus is fed 3 times a day 1.5 cups for breaky, 1 cup lunch and 5 chicken necks for dinner..... do I really need to feed him 3 times a day?

Does anyone in the Inner Sydney area know of a repitable agility and obedience Club?? I would like to start Gus in the 2 areas, he has proved to be a very quick learner, and I think the sooner I start him the better.

Who cares what anyone else thinks, they are not the one dealing with a pup at 3am in the morning, nor are they the ones trying to toilet train a pup. Id just be inclined to tell them to educate themselves, or maybe even give them some reading material (sory if that comes across as rude)... why do you need to justify your newly found knowledge on the wonderful world of crate training just because other people dont know what it entails or how beneficial it is, I think if you read about crate training in detail and you attempted to put it into practice your views would be very much changed, my OH hated the Idea untill we got peaceful sleeps and no pee on the floor
