No she was given a warning because of her age she was like 15 or something. I make sure when I see someone I know in that certain coles to not go near her counter because she is a thief, she still dirtys me to this day and her mother called me a dog "S" word after the incident, horrid people.

I was on the phone to the vet he was telling me I can come pick up Loki from his big snip so I sort of had no choice that he rang at that exact moment though :) She didn't lose her job over it even though I have seen people lose their jobs for alot less.

I have been ripped off $100 once at Coles I handed the wrong money by mistake because I was on the phone and she counted it and knew there was extra and put it in her pocket, I realised just after I picked up my bags and tried to tell her that I gave her to much and she abused me saying that I only gave her $200 not $300 so I reported her to the manager and to her horror she was caught on camera putting it in her pocket.

Yes, we are all busy with a life, if indeed you are suggesting no one here has a life. However our dogs are a very large part of our lives and being responsible dog owners we strive to understand dog behaviour. We teach commands and proof them so that we can call our dogs off from a situation we see as undesirable. Perhaps take a few minutes out of your busy life and read the training forum. It may give you a better understanding of dogs and why they do what they do and how to prevent certain behaviours we don't want them to do. This forum really is a give and take forum. We take the time to ask questions in the hope that someone is interested enough to reply to them. Then we repay the compliment by attempting to assist others when we read their questions. Exactly when you post in a public forum especially with one as complex as DOL you have to expect people to have different opinions, it is like the O.P that came here the other asking about a natural rearing breeder, of course we are going to ark up to the fact that an innocent pup has an 80% chance of contracting parvo and dying and trying to tell the O/P that no reputable breeder would sell a pup unvaccinated. You cannot expect all sugar and spice you posted asking for peoples opinions and they gave them. If you are far to busy with a life and we dont have one apparently then why bother posting here.......

And you expect people on here to welcome you with open arms with comments like that!!! : seriously we have lives too just because we devote a huge chunk to our dogs doesnt make us bad people if there were no people like us in the world then no dogs would get rescued, no pedigree dogs would exist etc Nobody said anything out of line or actually down right insulting to you but you did to us a person with a whole of 5 posts.....

Nobody is being a bully hun. I have witnessed this forum when it is heated and you are actually getting a nice polite thread. You have been a member since march 2011 have you not read any other posts on here and seen how passionate the people on here are about dogs, if you want to be moddy coddled for punishing a dog for the wrong reason then you have come to the wrong forum.

My girlfriends dog killed all of her guinea pigs and rabbits..... did she punish the dog no. she was upset of course but again like everyone has said you cannot punish a dog for something that comes naturally to them, even goldfish have a prey drive have you seen how they behave when you drop tiger worms in the tank.

I think I worded it wrong, the people who buy dogs from reg pedigree breeders with champion pedigrees and have been told not to breed etc etc and then do it anyway, they have bred with champion lines , thats what I am talking about lol

Hello :) I saw this question on an american forum and was very curious to know if it is the same in this country. Does a breeder legally have the right to take a dog off the buyer if the buyer chooses to breed it against the breeders wishes?? The american forum said no unless there has been a legal contract sighted by a lawyer or JP is this the same in australia?? because I was wondering why there is so many BYB with good bloodlines if this was the case??

Huh??? Why would you assume a dog is deaf because it has white on it? There is also nothing genetically wrong with having a blue eye. One of the pups from our last litter has a white face and 1 blue eye and he is perfectly healthy. Plenty of dogs in the working lines that are almost all white yet they can hear perfectly fine. What a strange assumption for you to make. I didn't assume it was deaf but said it had a better than average chance of being deaf. The reason the breed standard specifies no blue eyes and white must not predominate is because it does increase the risk of deafness but of course many dogs with blue eyes and excess white are not deaf. The biggest risk is if the ears are white inside and the red puppy in this thread appears to have a full white face and a complete white ear. Also the thread did mention she wanted to show them so they are totally unacceptable as show/breeding prospects due to the markings and eyes, apart from any conformation and type issues. Thundercat, I wish you well with this but cannot see a happy ending for any of you or the dogs. Good on you for trying to set your sister right. As they say, you cannot choose your relatives. No I have 3 sisters, all of them who think I am a dog natzi On a happier note though the beautiful staffy gentleman I rescued has stopped peeing on my couch since he recieved the snip which is an awesome thing , because I hated rousing on him because he has already had a tough life. :) I think I am going to try and talk about the AWL thing to her. even thought I do not think they are going to succeed with this to be honest ( but she doesnt lol)

I am not sure sheridan I don't know if i can just sit back and watch her breed the death out of these dogs and just go on like nothing has changed..... so yes I am probly going to have to say yes.... I don't see her waiting until the bitch is 18months + either the accidental foxie litter was the girls first season...she could have aborted it but no kept the litter and needed a c section... no talking sense into her.... and she abuses me everytime I try so..... she can do it all by herself I dont want a part in it.. I hate caring sometime because it hurts so much

I have tried to explain all of this about testing etc I managed to talk her out of going to get some labs and breeding them by telling her about all the testing, plus she was put off by the cost of buying the parents to start off with. But she already has the male border and getting the female in a couple of days when she gets the money.....sadly I dont think I can talk her out of it which is really heartbreaking..... so many people put in such effort to breed some beautfiful healthy borders and then people like my sister unfortunetly put no thought apart from male and female of same breed mate and wallah puppies are born and then sold

Thats what I am afraid of ........ I cannot believe though that she would rather go ahead with this stupid idea and risk losing a relationship with me only thing is I will lose contact with my nephew who I love so much........

I saw some on gumtree for about $500 each .. but that is the sydney area, I dont think newcastle really even has a market for dogs .. well not as much as sydney. there is only like 100 ads in the newcastle gumtree and about 1500 in sydney

I have asked her who she is getting them from and all she tells me is some guy in newcastle she has had an accidental foxie cross litter before..which actually did end up in C SECTION cost her $950 but this has not put her off..... i will post some pics of them and then you can see what I mean by definetly byb and not show worthy

Hello my sister is getting 2 BYB bred border collies * sigh* and wants to breed them.... one caramel or red I don't know technical name for this colour. and a black and white. Both have a blue eye which I know is a fault and the mother from what I see in the pics is a horrible representation of the breed and looks to be quite skinny and not looked after. and to top it off she thinks she is getting a bargain because they are not vacc or microchipped so she is getting them cheap????? and the worst part is she wants to breed them ( from two different litters) and she also thinks she can show them???? Please help me preach to the dumb and uneducated.( yes I know its my family but I feel like banging my head against a wall) there is soooo many in the pound system. why make more

curiosity got the better of me I rang now... but no answer their phone was switched off I just don't see why they would try and scam people though.... that is why I am thinking legit if people are able to view them it puts my mind more towards legit.... BUT then again they could have a litter of stolen french bulldogs and trying to cash in on them by faking vaccinations/microchips OR collecting deposits for puppies that will never reach those people that come to see them..... I am a sceptic lol

We will have to wait and see but yes if they are legit I think if rescuers get in first and desex these little things they will be able to save alot of dogs being turned into ATMS for future BYBS and PF'S :)
