  1. ellz- Your American cocker spaniel puppy is just gorgeous!!! Have you chosen a name for her yet? I have an english cocker spaniel puppy who is just over 10 weeks old now. Cockers are a delight Jules- Your wait is almost over!!! Last few days must be killing you! Miah will be well worth the wait though. Excited for your Miah update post once she is in your arms!
  2. Thanks everyone! Seems like patience AND MORE patience is the only way to go about this!!! But meanwhile, thankgod all the raining has come to an end. No more wet dogs and sloppy hugs n kisses from our fur kids
  3. How did you dual train them on both outside and inside on pee pads Minimax? I also wanted to do this and initially bought the pee pads and laid them down inside her playpen though my girl thought the pee pads are rather great to chew and destroy
  4. My girl got drenched when I took her outside to potty! She hated the rain and refused to go
  5. How do you take such stunning photos Snook!!! Photos are amazing and your dog is too
  6. She is so gorgeous!!! Glad she is being a goodgirl and making your puppy owner stage easier for you !
  7. My puppy is now 10weeks old and we are working extremely hard toward toilet training (taking her outside after meal, after sleeping, after playing etc etc.). She has been doing okay, though for the past two days it has been raining a lot and she is refusing to go toilet in the rain Usually we would take her outside in our front yard and she will potty fine but now it's raining she would step on the wet grass then immediately run back to the front door where it's shaded. She would either 1) pee on the doormat or 2) hold on until the moment we go back inside and pee in my room . Is anyone else's dogs or pups rain sensitive? and how should we overcome this problem?
  8. Wow there are way too many cute puppies out there! Just want to add in my share of cute fluffness
  9. Thanks everyone for letting me know about the age precaution. I read many good things about Comfortis for killing adult fleas from this forum so instantly thought that was the way to go. I will opt for Advocate, Capstar or Frontline instead
  10. I have found fleas on my 9week old puppy and wondering whether it can be harmful to use Comfortis on her at such a young age. Would it be better to wash her with a flea treatment shampoo rather than applying Comfortis???
  11. OMG!!! HE IS JUST TOO ADORABLE! And what a smart boy he already is. That was exactly the same for my girl Yoness when she first came. She cried when she wanted to potty and instantly did her business when we took her outside on the grass. Now it seems like we are going backwards with toilet training as she will still cry to let her out for her number 2s but she started give us no clue when she wants to pee and make puddles inside . Thank god for timber floors...
  12. Yep ! You mean to say there goes all my nana naps and late morning sleep ins?? YES!!! I haven't even had ONE late morning sleep in ever since my puppy has entered my life. The longest she has slept in would be 7am... and that is after multiple waking ups during the middle of the night The first week I had to wake up 2-3 times in the middle of the night to take her outside to potty. It was sooooo difficult dragging myself out of bed. Two weeks in and now we're down to only 1 potty trip in the night Can't wait till she has a longer bladder control and can sleep through the entire night
  13. I currently have a 9week old cocker spaniel puppy and she is being fed Supercoat as her kibble mixed with some raw minced beef as that is what she was fed from her breeder. I would really like to switch her dry kibble to a premium kibble with more nutrition and would love to try the VANS Complete mix for puppies and see how my girl goes on it. Is it possible to purchase a small sample packet from somewhere??? Either online or offline (sydney)? EDIT: I just went on the VANS website and realised you can receive free puppy packs! Can't wait to try them once they arrive. Will definitely update how my girl goes on it
  14. These BC pups are gorgeous REMY_BC and Colliechaos!!! So many people getting puppies soon! Can't wait to hear everyone's experiences on the first day of bringing their pups home! I remember when 2weeks felt like FOREVER when waiting for my puppy Julesā™„Cavs. Hope time flies by for you! I kept my self entertained/occupied constantly looking for puppy stuff online and whenever I was out and about.
  15. Thankyou minimax! Ended up enrolling my girl into Dog Logic and attended our very first session yesterday! Sooo many cute puppies it was delightful. Definitely worth enrolling your puppy into puppy pre-school as I learnt/gained so much insightful information on understanding and raising your puppy even on the first lesson. Would highly recommend Dog Logic. Can't wait for our next session !
  16. Wow!!! your puppy is gorgeoua CollieChaos!!! You must be so excited! The last few days really does seem like forever! I admit I've always had a soft spot for merles . I think they're one of the most beautiful colours on a dog.
  17. I've posted on the Cocker spaniel thread already but thought I'll repost in this puppy thread also ! We picked up our girl Yoness from the breeder 2 days ago and so far everything has been going smoothly thanks to everyones advice. She absolutely loves her crate and willingly went in all by herself from the minute she came home. Today is only the 3rd day but she is already going on the right track with toilet training! I have bought pee pads and lined an area in her puppy pen just incase of any accidents but she will only potty on grass so it has been all too easy. Last night I closed the door of her puppy pen (not her crate) before going to sleep at night and she did chuck a huge tantrum, good 30minutes of crying but tough love seems to have worked because she wore out, crawled into her crate and slept from 11pm until 5am the next day!!! And here are some photos of Yoness on her first day home (It's so hard to get a good picture of her face with her black markings) Congratulations on your new puppy Ellis! I'm sure you're overdosing on puppy breath and feeling pretty puppyclucky by now! Cant wait for pics
  18. One more sleep for me to pick up my furbaby !!! And I couldn't agree with you any more Remy_BC. I have spent the last week constantly researching and trying to prep as much as I can before the puppy arrives, though I think I may have overloaded myself with too much info as it is all too overwhelming now since some informations re toilet training, crate training, early pup socialisation, feeding raw seem to be very conflicting. Also, puppy shopping and looking for puppy goods on ebay has become a serious addiction...! The puppy pre-school I want to enrol my pup in starts their course again in 2nd of feb which is when my pup would be around 11-12weeks old. I honestly wanted to start socialise and training earlier at 10weeks but not sure if 11weeks is fine also?
  19. Hi Rysup! would it be possible to PM me the ebay seller or link of where you got your Wahl clippers?
  20. Thanks for all the recommendations everyone ! I will definitely look into all of them One thing I'm not too certain about is, I believe you are not supposed to take your puppy outdoors until they have got their second vacc at 12weeks incase of parvo? Though can going to puppy school be an exception...
  21. Hi everyone! I will be picking up my puppy in 6days and I want to enrol in puppy pre-school for the first few weeks of it's puppy stages as I hear those are the crucial learning stages of the dog's life! The pup will be 8weeks old when I pick her up next week and I am hoping to enrol her in a class before it is 12weeks old. I am located in inner-west Sydney any recommendations would be lovely thanks!
  22. Hi everyone! I've posted on the Cocker thread though I am happy to post in this thread aswell that I been one of those silent lurking DOLers and so happy to say, I will be picking up my first English cocker spaniel puppy in just 6days!!! I haven't owned a puppy in years so I am nervous and excited to go through all the efforts of being a puppy owner again. So far I am crossing off my list of "Things to buy" and trying to be as prepared as I can before the arrival of the pup. Any advice is appreciated! Still haven't made up my mind whether I should buy a crate and crate train my puppy or not... Some photos of my girl when I visited her at 2weeks ago 5weeks. As for puppy names, I have always said I will name my next female dog "Yoness" though when I visited my girl, I found that she had a very Marilyn monroe mole like black dot marking right near the muzzle and now I can't seem to get the name "Monroe" out of my mind. So now I'm tossing between the two names and I don't think it I will make up my mind until last minute when the pup finally arrives home
