  1. pretty sure it's sunday. they have a fb page, join and ask.
  2. I have an older springer girl, who I am planning on trialing, but I have noticed that she lags in heeling, only coming forward when I stop (and swinging out at a 45 degree angle then, but that is another issue) She has been taught to target a "target stick" I was wondering if I could use this? or any other suggestions?
  3. Hi All, we have entered the ALBURY & BORDER KENNEL CLUB INC Trials in March, and we were wondering where is best to stay? we were planning on staying at the caravan park, but the reviews are really bad??? has anybody stayed there? can I get some info? advice??? we like that the caravan park allows the dogs in the cabins, but some of the reviews talk about safety there??? the reviews are quite recent. thank you in advance
  4. Very nice.... love the speed of the drops... got any tips for getting faster response on the sit/drop/stands?
  5. not very well.. having a break... we really did poorly at northcote, so feeling a bit despondant. going to have a break for a bit, then come back with all new enthusiasm
  6. What a great idea I would be a bit worried that I might be seen as showing off though I would be showing off.... heck... if we can get our dogs to do these things we should be proud! I quite happily parade my ribbons around. one day I will get them made into a crate cover. seems to me, we get ribbons to show them off. not be ashamed of getting them! we are proud of what our dogs win us... I'm even proud of my red lantern prizes (thats the prize for comming last)
  7. I'd actually like to have a crate cover made out of them... I figure that would look snazzy.. and maybe I wouldn't look such a dork in the ring when the dogs refuse to work...
  8. I've heard of having them made into quilts/pillows etc... I have a fishing line strung across the wall, with the ribbons paperclipped to it. thinking of the quilt.. but then I have for different disaplines, and would have to consider weather to combine...
  9. can you recommend where I can get the dummies for a reasonable price?
  10. he's a gsp, 3 yrs old, and he fetches and scents.... distance is an issue. some tracking experiance (not much) he won't "search" very well, but I plan to work on this over summer...
  11. ... hmmm... where to start.. it's been suggested that I try ratg... but here is the issue.. milo only casts approx 30-40 mtrs for a retrieve.. any further, and he just returns to me... so.... I'm assuming I just slowly increase the distance? say, ok, he'll go 30 mtrs, attempt to consistantly get it approx 40 mtrs till he's consistantly retrieving from that distance/?? then 45? etc... is this the best way? I'm doing this on an oval atm, once I have him doing distance? look into other scenarios? or look into fields/water etc, for closer retrieves straight off? what's the best way of working this??
  12. Me! one in Novice (Yahoooooo!) and one in ccd... (that's going to be good for a laugh)
  13. I have no idea if it's me, or her at this stage... I need to get her to an obedience class, so I can be watched working her. last trial of the year tomorrow, so no training today.
  14. not working for me so far, they still drop/sit, then just come up on thier haunches
  15. yes, yes and yes, we have been doing pivot turns, but he and I have issues with them and whilst we are improving, I feel that we would be better to go to left about turns (roundabouts) he does them 50% at least of the time flawlessly, but I believe that the issue is my signaling? the turn? or failing to signal it clearly to him. I'm going to try to get some video of him/me to show what I'm doing wrong (and yes, I believe it's me, not him somewhere) I believe it's a lack of shoulder indication, but have trouble remembering to signal that way I guess I'm looking for confirmation that that is what I am doing wrong???
  16. Hi all... throughout ccd, I used a pivot left about turn, but now going into novice, I'd like him to do the round about left about turn. but my question is, how does he know that I am about to do a left about turn?? as opposed to just turning left??
  17. http://www.facebook.com/SusanGarrettDogAgility?sk=app_102515556471926&app_data=3 will try this...
