  1. it's called puppy power, but I went and checked, no agility equipment,
  2. no video... I didn't get anyone to record this time. hang on, a few photos tho..
  3. I would like to thank Knox obedience club for putting on a wonderful trial, I'd like to thank all the dogz online community for their assistance in figuring things out... love my ribbon, love my trophy LOVE MY PASS CARD!
  4. Oh. lets not forget, stand means , drop and cringe cause you beat the crap out of me daily..... "hold' means, lets follow you for a few steps...
  5. Don't you hate it when, they just look at you and go..."sit"? "sit" no... I don't think I know that one....
  6. Paddles when was this video done, yes the back area of the Pavilion is bad distraction with those feathered quackers oh & don't forget there is also bunnie crap too :) try working with a sighthound  November last year, because sled dog racing is my main love, I don't do many trials, and because I don't attend an obedience club on a regular basis, I tend to be a bit hit and miss with my training.... IF milo works, I should pass this trial... IF! Flash... well... he's never actually worked in company before, so if we get around without a total discrace I'll be happy
  7. I'm still feeling my way with the diet, I've noticed a huge difference in his attitude to training, much happier/eager to please. we are at very basic stages atm, and I still have a long way to go, (some things were suggested that I just haven't had time/facilities to impliment, but plan to) at this stage, i am still feeding kibble a little, due to various things, but a lot more meat than what he was getting. I've always fed a little meat, and I probably could drop the kibble, I tend to be a sucker thinking he hasn't had enough food...
  8. well this makes me feel a bit better :) keep thinking entering Dyson was a mistake.... I keep thinking entering the nutcase was a mistake too... we'll just have to wait and see... I'm going to treat it as a training day... see what happens...
  9. I have to say, I was and am totally Happy with the service I have had with k9 pro, and steve courtney dog training, Steve suggested feeding raw, I said I would think about it, I did some research. my original question was, and is, What comprises a raw diet" not weather its good, not weather its bad.. Just what comprises it. quantaties that should be fed. I fail to see what the fact that a trainer (in this case steve courtney) has suggested it. I have found that following Steve's advice has helped me heaps. I have gotten a lot of help from 2 phone consults. considerations such as worms/disease etc, will be/have been addressed to my vet, and he has given advice/suggestions as well. I'd also like to say, I have been using chunks of raw meat and liver (urk) as training treats, yes it is manky, BUT OMG! have I seen a difference in Milo's attitude to training.
  10. This time sue.. grab me.. particularly as Janine (my friend, gsp in tow) will be going gaga over waldo...
  11. Rofl.... you might want to watch this Murve.... I'm hoping I do better this time....
  12. what level are you going for Rubyblue? I've entered both in ccd...
  13. Ok, I'm really bad at this, but want to meet/say hi to some other dogzonliners... BUT since I will be stressed out of my mind (trust me on this) I need anyone who wnats to say high, to come up, and say, HI... I will be the extremely stressed out woman trying to hang onto two out of control gsp's.... probably in a k9pro training vest. In all seriousness.. I am a friendly person, but I will probably almost need to be grabbed and yelled at!
  14. where in vic, apparently (not certain about agility equip, I'll try to find out) there is a wholesaler that will do doorsales in dandenong.
  15. today I picked up some chuck steak, some chicken livers, and some soup bones, Parceled it all out... now to work out quantities (I'm also going to add a little raw vege...
  16. or you could be like me, and just bomb out... as long as you can laugh at yourself... some people I know, entered over 10 ccd trials before passing.... I personally believe it is not the dog that fails the trial but the handler. 1/2 hr before my one and only trial, a friend ran myself and dog through a mock trial, went perfectly. entered the ring... totally bombed out, all I can say is both dog and i left the ring together (one of my friends dog left her to go chase ducks middle of the trial....) so providing you can survive a little failure, enter and have a go.. then put the hard yards in, to get that perfection prior to entering your next one. what I'm trying to say, is, handler nerves play a big part, as well as distraction.
  17. the question, as far as I'm concerned, is what comprises a "raw" diet, not weather "you" agree or disagree. Whilst I HATE sticking my hand in a bag of raw offal/meat, I have already, in 2 training sessions, seen an improvement in his drive. I am uninterested in your opinion of weather you agree with feeding raw, it is my decision. Not wanting to be nasty here, BUT it is not a valid contribution to try to say that you don't agree with feeding raw, or you think I shouldresearch more. I am researching, thus my post here, I am also not going to suddenly totally change my dogs diet. However it is not the first time feeding raw has been bought up, and I have agreed to try it. there is no harm in trying (if you think I am harming my dog, sing out, I'll give you my address and you can ring the rspca...) I have bought for a trial, a dog roll, to see if that is suitable I have also found (daft me missed it first time) a link to Steve's blog post on what he feeds. We also had a chat about bringing my dog back from injury.. did you want to weigh in on that without knowing the details?
  18. Ok, he's a big dog, I'm working with Steve Courtney to fix a few training issues we have, and he has recommended switching to raw, and using his meals as training treats. thus the usual kibble I feed is inappropriate. I bought for the minute some beef to use. it's more a case of what does comprise the raw diet?
  19. It has been suggested I switch one of my dogs to a "raw" diet, can anyone tell me exactly what this is comprised of? or point me in the direction of a thread that points this out... I just bought some meat, so easy enough there, but from what I read, I should also feed vegetable? how much? what etc? I need to have the food in bite sized portions (large dog) at this point in time. I searched the threads, and just ended up more confused. thank you one an all....
  20. lol... I had a trainer tell me I should rehome my dog... without even meeting the dog.... wait for it.... Because he pulls on the lead....
  21. I get heaps of advice... I listen politely, use any I think will be useful, discard the rest... I might try some things, see if they work/ etc.. anyone who tells me to harm my dog, tends to be politely told then that I do not believe in violence.
  22. I've struggled over the years, and now am planning to enter an obedience trial again (after bombing out so badly last year) so the question has arrisen, who trials, but doesn't attend an obedience club? how do you manage it? is there any advice you can give? or resources you can share?
