  1. A quiet peaceful day and Friskie has started eating a little.
  2. She ate a raw lamb neck the other day with no problems. She had a small amount of raw chicken tonight - I will try some raw beef tomorrow and some vegemite. No problems outside today but she wanted to go to her bed when we came in so I fed her and then left her there - she is now snoozing on my feet.
  3. Friskie is the new one and she had a vet check the other day. Her front teeth are fine but she would not let me or the vet look at her back teeth. I had not thought of canned food - have to try it.
  4. We had a quiet and peaceful day today, out in the garden together. My real concern at the moment is how little Friskie is eating - no matter what I offer her - I have tried several different kinds of kibble, salmon, sardines, chicken, beef and vegetable stew. She has a little nibble but that is it.
  5. I don't mind if they don't become friends as long as we can all live together in peace. We spent the afternoon outside with no problems and now they are both asleep.
  6. I think Perry is just making sure she is no. 1 - although I would say the other one is not at all interested in being no. 1 - she just wants a quiet life.
  7. This is why I asked for advice in the first place - what else should I be doing or not doing? Perry is getting just as much attention as she always has together with the rides in the car and ball throwing and plenty of one on one time - Friskie is mostly with me inside when Perry would be outside any way. Perry has always taken her time to warm to the numerous foster dogs we have had over the years but she got on well with the last two who were both bitches and also seniors. Do you think I should rehome Friskie? I was pushed into taking her in the first place because her owner died and nobody else was putting their hand up to take her and I am not sure where I will find someone else to take her.
  8. Perry had another go at Friskie tonight - quickly broken up.
  9. I am definitely looking forward to not having to be constantly on guard.
  10. I am so looking forward to that day. This morning Friskie turned the charm on for the vet. Now she is fast asleep on Perry's bed and Perry is sunning her tummy in the garden.
  11. Another quiet day although it nearly was not when Friskie decided to investigate whether Perry had left any of her dinner (fat chance). Friskie has had a bath and charmed the groomers, tomorrow the vet.
  12. Two days with no problems and both are now fast asleep in bed. Fingers crossed.
  13. We had a whole day yesterday with no stealth attacks from Perry - things are looking up.
  14. Things went well until tonight when I let Friskie out before putting her to bed - I thought Perry was fast asleep but instead she slipped out behind us and attacked. Tomorrow I am taking Perry out shopping, for coffee and then to the park for some one on one ball throwing and Friskie can lie in the sun in peace.
  15. We had a nice quiet day today reading the paper in the sun - all 3 of us - Perry was relieved to find that Friskie is not at all interested in Perry's ball.
  16. Lots - she is a really affectionate dog and I am sure that Perry will get used to her in time.
  17. I think Perry is protecting her possessions - i.e. me. Fortunately I have plenty of time and can divide the house in two. Friskie is lovely to cuddle whereas Perry has never been a cuddler.
  18. Well we did the walking around at a distance thing. Perry's reaction was to look very friendly and then dart forward and bite Friskie on the nose. Friskie was happy to be friends. We spent the morning inside cuddling and left Perry on her own in the garden. Now I am bringing Perry inside and Friskie and I will be out in the sun for a while.
  19. She is here, she is lovely, and she is having dinner before an early night and meeting her new sister tomorrow.
  20. Everything is ready. Intros will be tomorrow morning although Perry knows that something is up. I will be smuggling Friskie into the main bathroom tonight and they can meet in the garden tomorrow.
  21. Bought a child safety gate this afternoon, a new soft bed and blanket and a squeaky toy and some new bowls. All I need now is her.
