  1. Your company allowed puppies into your office - how awesome is that...!!!! I wanna work where you work, all I have to play with in my office are engineers...and they're no fun.....
  2. I just have to say that VAN has been a godsend for us. We recently picked up a 5 month old puppy who refused to eat (even though we gave her EXACTLY what the breeder recommended). In desperation I started trying little bits of everything I could find (different raw minces, chicken necks, cooked chicken thigh...you name, I tried it) and the only thing she would consider is the VAN ready made stuff (interestingly though, she will only eat the Allerblend). Although we had to hand feed her initially, she is now eating just fine which is a huge relief. I know this is starting to sound like an advertorial but I'm just happy that fussy puppy is actually eating. It's been a long time since we've had a baby in the house and we didn't relish having to tell her breeder she was on a hunger strike edited for horrible spelling....
  3. I give Beansy Natures Gift canned food (well, ok it's the small foil tubs) from time to time when I'm feeling lazy and she's fine. She loves the stuff
  4. Beana refuses to chew anything other than meaty bones or her rope toys. She's a bit of a fussy pants and won't chew rawhide, Dentabones, Greenies or anything similar. I give her either chicken wings/necks or small beef bones everyday instead to keep her teeth clean (and her amused for a while).
  5. With the internet being what it is (50 arguements for and an equal amount against) it's hard for a novice poochie parent such as myself to know what to feed. I relied on advice from the vet (who recommended Hills Science which Beansy wouldn't eat) and advice from other far more experienced owners such as you guys. I really enjoy threads like these for the above reasons but it's hard to figure out exactly what is best for my baby. Yesterdays visit to Pet Barn saw us return with Royal Canin in place of Hills so we'll see how that goes. For the record, the BARF diet seems to give Beansy black sludge poos for some reason
  6. Beansy's vet recommended Hills Science but Beana isn't a fan. She'll eat it if nothing else is on offer but she'll only eat a little bit. I'm actually planning on a change to see if we have any more luck with that. Edited to add that Beansy is a dog who will eat bird poo so the Hills must be pretty bad....
  7. I've only skimmed this thread so forgive me if I've missed the answer to this question but: Are you saying that we shouldn't give our dogs bones? I feed Beana a combination of premium dried food in the morning(as recommended by the vet) which she eats under sufference, and beef mince or chicken mince at night. She gets raw, meaty bones every couple of days more for entertainment than food. Is this not right?
  8. Beena got cheese, bacon (left over from dads breakfast), ham and carrot in hers this morning. I spent more time preparing her Kong than I did making my own lunch!
  9. I figure if we vaccinate our kids on the say so of medical professionals, shouldn't we do the same for our furry kids? But then again I'm one of these "If the Doc thinks we should, then we should!" types. A little too blindly trusting at times I suppose...
