I wouldn't give in to those morons. And I know exactly what you mean because they are everywhere! I think you need your lovely dog and you should keep her. Could you put a sign on the car with words like" this dog is loved and well cared for. Please mind your own business". Or something like that. There are a couple of Aussie Terriers around my way and they are well behaved, lovely dogs. Your dog is important to you. Don't let the busy bodies win.

I would go to the Local Court and lodge a Letter of Demand.for the deposit. I'm not sure about legal procedures in ACT but you can definitely lodge a Letter of Demand in NSW. Maybe check with your Local Court.
