  1. It's not cruel to keep a cat indoors. We have two and they have been inside all of thier lives. My mum lets her cat wander and she has lost so many. Our neighbours have cats who wander and they spray the front of our house I hate it!
  2. That's ok I might just head over to the park at St Marys. My guy probably barks/sings at you when you walk past he would like to come out and play.
  3. I was going to my guy to an off leash park... might as well make it rouse hill
  4. Is there going to be a meet on the weekend?
  5. There really isn't anywhere in penrith you can take the dogs where it is fully fenced. Windsor has a nice leash free park, as does St Marys? so I have been told. I am happy to go to any meet as long as I don't have prior plans.
  6. Well can i suggest an early time as the weather is getting warmer and there is no shade at the park... it would be good to get in and out before it gets to hot. Or may I even suggest going to the windsor leash free park where there is plenty of room and heaps of shade? Cheers
  7. I will be there at 10 with my singular finnish lapphund looking to love anyone who will love him!
  8. Ever since this has become a regular thing I have has one thing or another that keeps me from attending. Now I left this Sunday free I wanted to do nothing more then go and let my boy play in the park. My dilemma…… IT'S FARTHERS DAY!!!! How do I get out of that one?
  9. My parents in law have a elkhound who has bad hips the vet gave her the injections last year and they worked well... but he recommened giving her ostreo ease (sp) said it had the same ingredents as the vet brands with less cost. Might be worth a go. Kat
  10. Merlin01 - I have used zinc on my pup since he was tiny. I use the waterproof stuff. Seems to last but when he digs it doesn't last as long. He doesn't like the taste so doesn't lick it off. Kat
  11. This is my fella with a "snow nose" In summer you may find the nose will go darker. My fella will not suffer too much in summer as the top of his nose is still black. But saying that I still apply zinc every morning. I bought my guy from a registered breeder and he was not discounted for this reason. I would be asking yourself if buying from an unregistered breeder is something you really want to do. Most "snow noses" are not a fault in show circles. And thus does not reduce the vaule of the dog. Cheers Kat
  12. My little fella has a couple of hot sopts atm right on the top of his head. The vet said it was a mixture of his double coat and the recent wet weather. Which doesn't suprise me as he likes sitting in the rain! We are using "Dermcare Malased" put on twice a week, leave for 10 mins and then wash off. You can use it as any every day shampoo as well... but at 25 bucks a bottle I think I will use cheaper alt. Kat
  13. Well that must be a load off your mind. It's really good you can get it sorted out while he is sleeping. I bet he will be lots of TLC! afterwards.
  14. Thanx for the idea... but we have tried them he doesn't like them they just sit in the backyard... It's raining down here atm and they don't seem that appleaing when they are wet and soggy. Although my 10 week old kitten runs into the backyard to steal them
  15. I don't mean to hijack this thread but while we are talking about puppy teeth... Meeko is 10 weeks old and I think he is teething. What are the best things to get him to chew? right now he has rope, an old slipper, and a rubber thing with little ropes... but the thing he wants to chew in our bacjyard is the door mat. Another thing he has started doing is pulling his bedding out of the kennel and gnawing on it like a bone. He gets a fresh lamb leg bone every 2 days. What else can I do to help him? Ohh... and that isn't going to cost me an arm and a leg I saw PB had teething rings but I think they are overly priced! Sorry to hijack Flat black and I hope you baby is ok. Thanks
  16. Thanks for all the info. The thing is he showed no sign of being nervous on the way from the breeder home. He was happy and very curious. But he was on my lap in the front seat. I will try the ginger tablets. Erny- Your surgesstion would work if my puppy ate all his meals in one go. He is a nibbler a couple bits of biscuits and that's enough for him for an hour or so and then comes back for another couple of biscuits. I will try just sitting him in the back seat without the car moving.
  17. Thanks for the info. Where do I find ginger tablets?
  18. Is there a way to condition him so that he won't puke or drool?
  19. Hi, I took my 9 week old puppy on a 15 minute car ride today. On the way to our destination he drooled so much that I could wring out the towel he was sitting on, he ended up with most of it on his face. On the way back after a 10 minute stop (still drooling). He lied down in the car and continued to drool and then feel asleep. But the towel was just as wet on the way back home. I kept reassuring him telling him everything was ok. Is this a form of car sickness Is there anything I can do to make a car ride easier and less messy. We are starting puppy pre-school in 2 weeks and I was hoping the he wouldn't feel stessed out by the experience of driving to the vet. Kat
