I'm much the same in the collar department.You always think this new collar is going to make them walk on the lead so much better than the old one-HA

normally feed a BARF diet ,but when forgetfull and don't get it out of freezer i opt for Bonnie

maybe it's just the weather.It has been hot,well that's my excuse at the moment anyway.

When you find the" inspiration" fairy,send her my way too

have you tried malasab or even an emu oil shampoo.I had a dog who was constantly scratching and after taking her to the vets they put her on Macrolone tablets and suggested malasab washes.Vet said even pollens in the air can set off allergies.While she is quite good now(not on tablets) i still bath her in malaseb occasionally but use emu oil shampoo every couple of weeks now

my sweet jenna,i do feel for you.

When my first shepherd was quite sick and the end was near i had said that i was taking her to the vets in the morning to be pts as i couldn't stand her to be in such pain any more.When we went to bed that night i looked out and she was laying down in the back yard and had died.I'm not sure which would have been upseting,taking her to the vets or knowing she died all by her self in the backyard

hi BittyMooPeeb,if you happen to have access to a flick mixer tap inside(either laundry or kitchen)you can get attachments from hardware shop like mitre 10 that screw into your tap than you connect your outside hose to it and run it outside.I did this until i got my hydrobath

check out your local trading post on the internet.You can set it up so you get alerts(via emails) when the item you are looking for is listed.That's how i found mine.Also keep an eye on ebay.

Hi staffy-lover1,before i got the hydrobath i was using hydrodog.They used to charge $25 for 1 dog or if you had more it became $20 per dog.That includes a wash,rinse,dry,cologne spray and nails clipped.

When you want your dogs washed every few weeks ( as i do) it does become quite expensive.I ended up buying a 2nd hand hydrobath in the trading post for $380 + $100 for a courier to deliver it to Dubbo and than $380 for a dryer(new off ebay)so they have really paid for themselves in 12 months.

Hi Noisymina,in regard to the use of woolwash

Wool washes have the wrong PH,very high levels of alkali salts(e.g caustic soda)and the wrong types of detergent.After a single wash owners apparently comment on how nice the coat is but after continued use it may strip the epidermis and hair of oil,causing damage to the skin.

Having said this a lot if owners have used wool wash for years without any problems,guess it just depends on the dog

Hi ,i have a single tank hydrobath and generally use the fido's free-itch or herbal rinse in it.What i'm wondering is how many dogs do you wash per fill.I do my 2 german shepherds out of the one tank.One gets a little smeller than the other so i wash the smelly one last.

When i was looking for a hydrobath i visited a groomer and as the water was still in the tank i said 'so you empty it out after each dog right" and she said "no,usually wash about 3 or 4 dogs out of the one tank"

Surely that's not good with skin diseases ,passing it around.Must have been cause it was part of a vets and maybe they were hoping they'd come back for treatment.

Hi Talon,i would highly recommend you get a copy of Dr Ian Billinghurst's book-Give your dog a bone.Makes a great deal of sense and a hell of a lot better and cheaper than feeding commercial foods.Good luck with your pooches scratching,i'm sure if you follow a Barf diet will help them heaps.One of my german shepherds was scratching to no end than after going on a Barf diet and washing in malaseb a couple of times a week we now have a scratch free dog

Flicked through Dr Ian Billinghursts book Give your dog a bone last night and he mentioned corn was fine(preferebly through a mincer/juicer )also said whole eggs are o.k as well.

They have the fido's range,to give you an idea the free-itch rinse 125ml is $11.80,500ml is $31.09 and 5lt $197.98.They also sell the same product but without the part that kills fleas which is Fido's herbal rinse-same nice smell just won't kill fleas 500ml sells for $18.22 and 5lt for $78.42

They also have a loyalty points system so every time you place an order you get so many points and when it reaches a certain level you cash it in and get $$$ off you order.Great idea

Hi again,thanks for your reply's.Sorry if i didn't explain myself properly.The fido's products are not causing any dryness(1 dog did have a skin cond but have it under control) but just wanted to check that if you do use these products once a f/n or more reguarly are they similar to reg shampoo's i.e drying as reg shampoo's are? I have a hydrobath and generally use either the Fido's free-itch rinse or the Fido'd herbal rinse in it(no shampoo just the rinse)Just wondered if these 2 items are considered shampoo's-therefore are they drying like shampoo's are It's just that one of my german shepherds has an itchy skin problem which is under control at the moment(used malasab)and i usually bath them every couple of weeks as they come in side quite a bit but don't want to dry there coats/skin out to much.

Anyone have any other suggestions for use in hydrobath????It's only a single tank so found the rinse was great as don't have to empty the tank out and refill for rinsing with these 2 products
