  1. You want to know what I havew in my garden :p what garden????? with two dogs I have no garden
  2. Ok thanks, this gives me afew more ideas to look at :p My niece also feeds her pup the raw meat and is going to buy some more in the next few days, so I might get her to pick me up some of the pets mince (beef) withOUT the vegies as there is carrot in it, and see how she goes on that for awhile, but for now, I'm going to just try feeding her chicken mince alone, and see what comes of that... Maybe add one thing to it, return the beef mince first for awhile, if all is good, then add the blended vegies etc etc
  3. yes I'll feed her tonight, then tomorrow I'll start feeding her the chicken mince, and if all goes well, I'll add some of the beef and veg back and see if the itching starts again (if it stops with the chicken first..lol) if the itch doesn't stop after two weeks feeding only chicken, I'll return to the beef and veg and try something else. Thank you
  4. Thanks for your help, I'll keep you posted
  5. OUCH. Could be the Tea Tree. Lavender is calming. You will find a lot of dogs are allergic to Tea Tree. Mine were. I would go back to a non soaping shampoo like Quit-Itch. Aloveen sound okay, have heard good reports. I use to wash my dogs three times a week when they had there itchies. I know you cant do that. But after a Quit-Itch bath they were good for a couple of days. After the elimination diet I only have to bath once a fortnight or when they get dirty. No probs.....I've only washed her 3 time since we got her though, could thats still be coursing this much itching?
  6. Ok the beef mince has the vegies mixed in, so if I take Minx off the beef mince it will be the veg aswell. and I'm going to stop the dry food as from now. Tomorrow night I'll pick up afew kgs of the chicken mince and just feed her that..... no veg or dry or beef, would this be a ok diet for afew weeks?
  7. good point!! Are you sure it is food related and not a contact allergy type thing or a reaction to some shampoo? I remember once when i first gave harvey a bath in a fidos puppy shampoo, he had a small reaction as it was too fragrent for him took quite a while for it to go away, i now use (i dont often bath him) Aloveen shampoo and leave in conditioner - YUMMO! EDIT - RAW is best, forget cooking it, NEVER cook anything with bones in it. The mince you describe sounds like lenards stuff, it is basically ground up chicken carcass You edited the 'N' in your mice...... ;)
  8. I wash her in a Lavender and Tea Tree oil dog wash, but I've only washed her 3 times
  9. I buy my chicken mince from Wishbone chicken shop its like lenards, they also do a pets chicken mince but like lenards it looks like ground up bones in it aswell, but Minx loves it, now if I go buy a heap of chicken mince, and stop feeding her the beef and veg of afew weeks, should I still feed the chicken mince raw??
  10. Oh and how long should it take before you notice a difference or not, before trying to take something else out of her diet??
  11. I'm going to try a elimination diet now hence the reason I'm asking you all first, the veggies are mixed in with the mince, the guy is BIG on the BARF deit, so you can buy the BARF food or he mixes his raw mince the way the Dr (cant remember the name) does, so thats why I've stuck with this food as I've heard its good and other than itching, Minx looks great Ok first I'll cut out the dry food altogether the veggie mix looks like carrots and something green, I ask the guy for mince and veg when I order my pets food, so maybe I'll ask for just plain mince with no veg??? (I just bought 4 kls of meat and veg ) katetk.. if I take her off the beef mince, what would you advice I feed her, as the mince is her main diet?
  12. Hi, I have asked this same question meny times now, but still found no relief to the problem, as you all know, I'm having problems with Minx itches, I know staffys suffer from skin problems but I have been asking on the staffy forums about Minx and no one can find a answer, now this is getting in the way of training as I cant pat her to tell her shes a good girl as if I touch her she on her bum scratching, she scratches her belly and around the neck area, I have checked and she has No rash, No fleas, No lumps, her paws look clear and so do her ears? My thoughts are her diet, but I'm feed her the raw pets mince diet, I have posted meny times Minx diet but here it is again..... Raw pets (beef) mince....(from petschow in springvale) blended veggies.....(from the same place above) chicken mince......( I add from time to time for a change) chichen wings or necks....(as a snack) can sadines.....(once a week in her breakfast) Omega 3&6 plus 9 oils.... (once a day) Dry food.....now I'm currtly feeding her supercoat puppy dry food but I dont mix it in her wet food (above) I feed it to her once a day separately. so what should I take out? or should I feed her can food to see if there is a change? I'm at my wits end.....Oh and I asked the vet about this (on our last visit about 3 weeks ago) and he couldn't find anything wrong with her ??
  13. No worrys guys glad to hear all is good again
  14. Hi Nat, No Minx only got afew steps from me as I was stand in the yard with her at the time, I asked the question about what to do 'if' the dog took off as this made me think, sorry if I worded it badly Oh and for everyone else BTW Minx hasn't touched the bedding since, and my recall training is going fantastic, so NO!! she hasn't been scarred or thought she was punshed for running off (which as I said, she didn't 'run' off, only afew steps, so she knew what she was being told NO for, it was clear, so you have that straight now ok )
  15. Hi, thanks everyone for your advice :D but please dont think for a second that I didn't understand what I was told, I do understand fully and IMO did the right thing, and so you know, Minx waged her little tail and still loves me and we had a great walk and training session, so I hope I haven't upset anyone here as I didn't mean too
  16. I have edited this post so the story here is 100% correct..... I ask this as Minx did this today, she pulls out the bedding of the other dog kennel and I caught her in the act, ( <edited to point out here I say...CAUGHT IN THE ACT!) so I walked over like we were told and before I got to her, she took off, (< sorry this is my fault for wording this badly she only took afew steps as I was standing there went she did it) I walked after her and did the NO thing, but was that right??? ofcourse I will ask at training next week, but just wondered if anyone here knew? IMO I did do the right thing as Minx hasn't touched the bedding since and she is still happy and training is going great guns. I understand everyone has there own way of training, but my way is working well for Minx ....... *I rest my case* :D
  17. Jenny FANTASTIC :D yes Minx was VERY good, I didn't know you were watching us..lol we have gone up to 'puppies' class now, so after you do your novice class next week, you will go to puppies class aswell, but you and I will not be in there for long as its up to 18 weeks old I'm doing the control obedience and socialisation aswell so what days and locations will you be going to?? Erny we might see you next week after all, as we will be at Berwick next week, not Chesterfeild Farm like I thought, we were going to check CF out this week but remembered the Pets day out at Frankston on the sunday, and our pups would be to pooped if we do thraining the same day, so it looks like its back to Berwick (which we like very much, poeple are great) and go to CF the following week.
  18. haven yes there was two rotty pups, there was a family there with a male pup and a young boy with a rotty pup aswell. Herr Rottweiler our instructor was Wendy.
  19. haven we were going to CF next week but we are not sure now whether to go to Berwick or CF next week as we want to go to the 'Pets Day Out' next sunday and if we go to CF then onto the pets day out it might be to much for the babies so might be at Berwick again, but after that, I will most likely be training at CF
  20. Ok thought I would give you all an update on how our first novice class went :D we really enjoy our selves ;) my niece Tegan and her new puppy Dakoda (black labrador) had a great day aswell, her pup is only 10 weeks old, Minx is now 14 weeks old, we did sit, social walking, stand and recalls, and Minx was very good, and Dakoda just wanted to sleep so we passed and are in the puppies class next week...
  21. We have been talking about feeding and dry food on another thread and I also feed supercoat puppy dry food, and Minx was farting alot ;) then I read on the BARF site not to mix dry food, but to feed it seperatly, so I stop puttting the supercoat in her meals yesterday and touch wood...... she hasn't fluffed yesterday or today ;) so I wont be buying any more, I'm going to look at the eagle pack
  22. Its called 'Wishbone' got some chicken mince tonight ;)
  23. Ok thank you, I have found somewhere close to buy the eagle pack but what does it cost?
  24. ;) this cracks me up, and so true ;)
