  1. Hi well Minx and Cody are always scratching...Minx being a staffy has itchys all the time and am currently washing her in Malasab (sp?) and Cody when I first got him put puppy Advantage on him, but he is still scratching??? he does not have fleas, but could he have a reaction to the advantage?
  2. The reason I ask is I normally feed Minx raw beef minced with vegies in it, but our great dog food man has sold up  I've been put onto a lady that makes her own dog food and she has minced beef, minced chicken carcess, vegies, fruit, and omega oils in it, but I was thinking about trying to make my own to save money....and hubby sometimes buys the VIP rolls as MInx can be VERY fussy at times, so thats the reason I asked as she eats the roll food but can anyone give any ideas on making your own food???

WOOOOW :D I just got off the phone to our vet about Cody's second vacc and the price has gone way up since Minx was a pup....they are asking $78.50 is that what you all pay???
  9. Goldielover How are you? long time no see....how is Chelsea going? what are you doing with her these days?
  10. He has not done it to any of us humans...only Minx and his teddy
  11. persephone Hi, they have rope toys and a doogy football and a soft bone with a rope through the middle outside aswell which they play with alot, he is not on her every minute or anything (sorry if it sounded that way) but I have noticed him at her quite alot the last few days and because she sits at the sliding door this is where he starts humping her so I see it happen, I just thought it was him being a male puppy and didn't know if it would settle down or get worse?
  12. Thanks Bluepoppy I'll try that, its a pitty as Minx is such a good baby sitting when he is in the yard, they play great together, and he can enjoy the nice weather outside and I dont have to worry if he is ok all the time, but if he keeps going, as you say, I'll have to separate them.
  13. Hi Bloss, he hasn't started on our legs yet (Thank goodness ) but did hump his teddy when we first got him (which is only 2 weeks ago) but as I said, the last few days he is humping Minx all the time, and she is so good, just sits there looking at us as if to say "Help me" but I dont know whether to tell him off? or ignore him?
  14. Hi, Well over the last few days Cody has started humping Minx (big time) and thismorning he has started digging at her to get her to lower her bum to him and when she is laying down he goes to town on her, anywhere he can but thismorning he seems to have realized which end to go to and he always walking around sniffing her boo boo he is only 10 weeks old and Minx is desexed....should I worry or will he stop soon??? (sorry he is our first male dog )
  15. Thanks for all your help everyone...... I checked Cody's skin and it bounced back straight away so I guess he is getting enough
  16. Yes his food is moist...cooked mince meat in water and puppy dry food, but I'm adding some raw meat that we feed Minx into his food, and yes he knows where the water is, I leave him outside for an hour or so in the day (and yes I can keep an eye on him) and the water is next to the door where he sits.
  17. Yes I agree with Blossom...post pics please I'm new with the Poodle clip thing so would love to see pics of the different clips
  18. I've noticed that Cody doesn't drink very much, I've seen him drink afew laps about 3 times since I got him....should I be worried?? he runs around playing and seems happy, eats well, so what do you think?
  19. Chloebear thats great news, I've been following your threads and glad to hear its all working out now I bought a leash for Cody yesterday so will give him a walk in the back yard today, keep the updates coming.
  20. I got Cody a new toy today, its a pig skin bone with a rope hanging out the ends, and I was throwing it and he was running after it and bringing it back to me so once we get the 'bring it back' thing happening, I'll start getting someone to put it down and get him to fetch it, I'm not sure if this is correct but I reckon its along the right track tollersowned I'm in the south/east Melbourne....near Cranbourne.
  21. Hi I didn't want to high jack Chlorbears thread so thought I'd ask here.... I've been reading some posts about feeding the pup, and now not sure if I'm on the right track or not? I'm feeding Cody (9 week old toy poodle) 3 meals a day, and I'm still feeding what the breeder told me which is cooked mince meat and dry puppy food, but this week, had him for 9 days now, I'm adding some raw meat, the stuff we feed Minx, which is mince beef, mince chicken carcess, fruit, vegies, omega oils and other goodies, but I'm only putting a small amount into his cooked meat, and slowly put him onto the same food as Minx...is this ok? or is the raw meat bad for him while he is young?
  22. I also have a question, I'm feeding Cody 3 meals a day, but do you still give wheetbix in the mornings? or is thats an old wives tale? I've been feeding Cody the mince and puppy dry food? and sometimes a chicken wing or neck, is this right? sorry dont mean to high jack the post
  23. I rang the puppy pre school I took Minx to when she was a pup but they are booked out til the 1st Nov, which would make Cody about 14 weeks old, so should I look for another one in my area? or is 14 weeks old still an ok age to start? I would prefer to start him asap.
  24. Thanks....so I'll just have to see which he will be more suited to I guess? he already chases the ball so maybe flyball
