  1. Hi All, currently trying to get my grubby little mitts on a flyball box and having no luck, tried to get to Steve Pitt's website but no luck, anyone have his new site addy or a contact email addy?? unless of course someone has a seond hand flyball box in A1 condition for sale! Cheers!
  2. I love Ceaser hope he comes to Australia one day.
  3. I know of two littermates that HATE each other, cant even put them in sight of one another, funny thing is, both are actually very well socialised and friendly dogs...
  4. John Gatt holds agility and flyball classes at San Remo on saturdays, I dont have his number handy but you should find it in the yellow pages under "dog trainers"
  5. OMG! he was still so young... sending my thoughts to you warley and xcel, he was such a wonderful boy...
  6. I admire the abilities of both human and canine "special forces", but after the job's done some pay a high price. I'm thinking of life outside work for both human and canine. Once retired, what happens to these dogs? as far as im aware (please correct me JJ if im wrong) most are retired into the handlers home or used to train military/police officers in K9 handling.... its rare that the dogs are PTS at the end of their working career....
  7. awww! poor baby, he sure is going through the wars right now! so glad to hear Hope is going well, I found it so hard to tear myself away from her at that Morrisset show!!! what a stunner.... good point, would be worth a phone call to the vet to discuss....
  8. oh no!! poor Ben, I hope the tests come back ok..... please give him a big hug for me!!! as dogbesotted has asked, why is he on a course of cortisone?? sorry, off topic I know, but how is that gorgeous Leonburger girl of yours going???
  9. hi guys, although not in Vic, would be more than happy to do what I can to help get the prong back in vic... signatures, letters, whatever is needed....
  10. agree with the others, its a dominance problem, by poo'ing or wee'ing on your bed, your dog is covering your scent with its own, which tells me that your dog believes its at least equal, if not above you.... get on the NILIF program asap and do not allow free range in the house, it should be a privalige for your dog, not a right... my dogs are NOT allowed inside until they have done something for me and are only allowed on their "blankies" (a couch designated to them)... the only time they are allowed to get off the Blankies is to get a drink or stand at the door to let me know they need to go to the loo... may sound harsh but my dogs are very happy as they know their place and their boundaries...
  11. Jeff I understand that the dogs are trained to save peoples lives. Was it fun being the decoy? No disrespect intended. I love being a decoy, its great fun to see the dogs enjoy the work so much! I have a couple of pics of me being the decoy and in every one I have a big grin on my face (didnt realise I was doing it until I checked out the pic's) great drive on those mals, IMO they are the best breed for this type of work! the mal who latched onto his handler was IMO still in peak and just wanted more action, he wasnt on a toy, it was the handlers arm, if you look close the handler actually bobs the dog on the nose with his other hand and its only then that the dog releases.... nothing too serious, just needs a little more training... I noticed that the "out" on most of the dogs shown is actually not that great, but again, nothing that cant be corrected with further training.... great vid!!!
  12. the worst thing about this tragedy is the fact I found out Flintoffs owners have bought themselves another GSD (they have a tiny yard with 3 kids and NO TIME to even take it for a walk) and the idiots are even planning to buy a South African Boerboel (after I showed them a picture of one because I plan on purchasing one soon) im soooo mad!!!! both breeds need room, exercise and plenty of attention, all of which they CANNOT provide!!! its so frustrating I could cry....
  13. I recently watched a beautiful 12 month old GSD pass from pancreatitis, he recovered and then got it again and basically his body shut down on him, poor guy....
  14. RIP young Flintoff, you had your share of behaviour problems (thanks to your useless owner! grrrr) but I loved you nonetheless, we had a great bond and ill miss you dearly (though your horrible owner probably wont)... no dog deserves to die the way you did at your age! Thumbs up to Sunhaze Kennels for breeding such a lovely boy, its just a pity he ended up in the home he did... I hope you are running free with stacks of other dogs in heaven, ill never forget the "wolf in the moonlight".....
  15. Tamworth? thats about 6.5 hours away from me, will take some organising (plus my poor ole car might struggle to make it ;) ) ill have to try to convince the mother in law to lend me her car for the trip...
  16. oh no!!!! RIP Napoleon I never even got to meet him... note to self: must get down to see Craig ASAP! to me athleticism, working ability and temperment (in no particular order) are more important than looks anyway... tony, are you in NSW? would love to meet both you and Nugget in the flesh...
  17. Hi tmc, Napoleon is also one heck of a good looking dog, I havent had the pleasure of meeting either Sokket or Napoleon in the flesh yet but im positive they will both blow me away when I do... I have a close friend who knows "Ataraxia" so im just waiting to go down and see the dogs when my friend visits him next... im also pretty keen on getting a pup off Lola (Nuggets dam)... ive heard nothing but good things about Lola and her sire... is the mating between Nugget and Napoleon going to go ahead???
  18. LOL, you and jbbb will be getting a BBQ invite as soon as we get the acreage!!! (and Flame too of course!) I cant wait to get my Boerboel pup either..... every time I look at pictures of sokket (pictured below) on Ataraxia Kennels website I get excited..
  19. excellent!!! im so pleased to see a SAB working (and doing so well at it too!) im counting down the months until I can get my SAB pup (must get rural property first though!)
  20. LOL, I was having as much fun on that day as she was.... plus she did her first run through the course off lead on that day too and did it well (I was so proud) Come on guys! vote for the black pocket rocket!!
  21. LOL, im sure everyone here would rather see Karma than me! Here is the agility pic (she was still in the training stage when this pic was taken) Flames_Daddy, I wonder if anyone will notice what I was telling you about on the weekend with regard to this picture...
  22. LOL what a tough choice!! close one between "flame" and "Kelly" IMO (dogs name is Karma).... both dogs are showing fantastic focus on the handler.... Karma just looks a bit more fit and intense IMO (LOL im biased though) Here is a close up of Karma... and another one showing the intensity and drive this girl has 24/7 (doesnt matter what she does, its 110% all the way)... VOTE FOR KELLY! (No offense Flame but you have already won a prize )
  23. WooHoo!!! my girl Karma is on there (and my legs LOL) she didnt win but im very proud that she made the top 20.... HUGE congrats to the winners (great pic's!) and flames_daddy (and to jbbb for taking the pic) flame looks magnificent in that picture!!! (great jumping skills, LOL!!) Steve, it must have been hard trying to pick out just a few from all those great photos!!
  24. Im also interested in tracking but have the same problem... maybe we can get together once a month to help each other out??? I also know of a few others who would be keen too...
  25. LOL, she sure is pint sized compared to dobe's and dane's! flame towers over her... come to think of it, she will be the smallest one there.
