  1. One of the best on the market. If you want power go for the LD2000.
  2. This clipper is identical to the Belissima but with a different case and switch but the same motor and blade. http://www.unityagencies.com.au/index.php?Itemid=49&id=71&option=com_content&task=view Wahl market it to groomers and hence the price is cheaper than the Belissima. You can pick them up for around $160 trade
  3. Pupkus have a range of dryers not just one including twin 2400 watt motors. :) When comparing dryers, disregard the watt rating as it is usually a made up figure. Oldfield and Double K dryers have a current rating which is measure of their true power. Generally dryers made in China have a watt rating on them and I have even seen dryers on eBay with 3000W on the label. The maximum current draw a dryer here can have is 10Amps for a standard power outlet, and from a technical point of view for the type of motor the power consumption is well under 2400W. Unfortunately the authorities here do not police the nameplate labelling.
  4. You haven't repaired my Pupkus  . It has been going strong every day for about four years now. What model do you have?
  5. This Lazor RX dryer is identical to the Pupkus Force 2 apart from the labelling http://www.clipperworld.com.au/shop/index.php?act=viewProd&productId=919. The same dryer is also sold under the name of Sallyair from Wooferwares.
  6. Pupkus have a range of dryers not just one including twin 2400 watt motors. :) I was referring to the link in the in the previous post (Force 2) Obviously you didn't follow the link because it was NOT to the Force 2, it was to the Pupkus website. I just mentioned the Force 2 as being the one that I have purchased myself. There are many choices on the Pupkus website. As I said above "For a more budget-friendly dryer, I highly recommend the Pupkus dryers http://www.pupkus.com.au." Might pay to check links out before you jump to dump on people. I have woked in repairing dryers and was offering an objective reply to the best dryer to use for that coat type. I am well aware of the Pupkus range of dryer as I have repaired all of them at some stage. Both Hydrodog and Jim's Dog Wash specify Double K Airmax dryers as they dry dogs for a living and time is money.

  8. The Double K Airmax is a twin motor unit and used by Hydrodog as it tested to be the most powerful on the market. The Pupkus dryer is made in China and only has one motor and best suited for smaller breeds.
  9. Unfortunately there is a greedy vendor on the scene and if they have sole rights then they can charge what they like. It is the likes of John and Ang that help keep them honest.
  10. Could you tell me what model Andis clippers - thanks Only get the Andis AGC2 as these are a professional quality clipper. The PM1 will not cope with a spaniel coat and is only suited to trimming.
  11. I would not bother with blade wash. Wash the blades in Metho then dryer them and apply a generous amount of clipper oil.
  12. Contact Spiffy Dogs and speak to Michelle. They do some training and are involved in rescue work and are lovely people. They are located in Mentone ph 0409 024 577
  13. Some of the finer blades like the #40, 30,15, 10 will run hotter on the higher speed and therefore many groomers run them on the slower speed reducing the heat generated.
  14. Read the post "which clippers". The Andis are a good brand but for your dog the Wahl KM would suit and cost less. Andis clippers on a US site are not suitable for use here in Australia unless you buy a converter. By the time you pay for postage and buy a converter you end up paying the same here and you do not have the benefit of a warranty. Be wary of eBay clippers coming from overseas and using a plug adaptor as these clippers do not come with an Australian warranty.
  15. Andis MBG 2 Pro Pet might be the one for you, just PM you. cheers, Tony The Andis MGB is over priced and not suitable for any seroius grooming. The Wahl KM, either the SS or KM2 is the way to go.
  16. The 2 head teachers at ADC are both International Certified Master Groomers, (ICMG) and Nicky is the Australian certifier for International Professional Groomers, which is the highest international dog grooming instructors qualification. Is the IMCG recognised as accredited trainers by an Australian government body or is an American business? International Professional Groomers Inc (IPG) are an International Organization which provide international industry standards for professional pet groomers based on their countries breed standards. To call yourself a Master groomer do you have to pay an annaul fee?
  17. I spoke to a groomer the other day that attended Doggy Dooz and she toss up going there or to the ADC. She chose Doggy Dooz as the staff there have teaching qualifications and the communication was better.

  19. Thanks poodle, have you got an european model that you have tried here? I wonder why it doesn't get covered by warranty I've narrowed down my choice to either the Andis AGC2 Super or just the normal AGC2 model (http://www.andis.com/international/products.asp?product=Animal&Lang=EN) The AGC2 Super has a normal speed of 3300 while the AGC2 has 3300 as its high speed. I don't mind forking out a bit more for a better set of clippers but I was wondering whether 3300 will be too fast and whether this set of clippers is intended for matted dogs. Will the fast speed cause clipper burns? I do some part time service work for a grooming supplier and the Andis clipper sold here in Australia has an Australian lead and the distributor here for Andis will only cover the warranty on their products. You could send it back to the US for repair but the cost would negate any savings on the initial purchase.
  20. Yes the European model will work here if you use a plug adaptor. The only issue is that it is not covered by a warranty.
  21. If bunnings has hose it would be for suction and not suitable for dryers
  22. The noise from your hose is due to the corrugations on the inside. The hose you have is for suction. Dryer hose has a smoother bore and this elimates turbulence and hence noise.
  23. No issue as to where they are made or the quality but it is the price of the Laube blades that highlight their excellent marketing.
  24. Interesting that you use Geib and Laube blades as these are made in the same factory in Taiwan and are available in no name brands here in Australia for half the price.
  25. Shear Magic are made in China and would be in the "throw away" category. Mars nail clippers made in Germany would be a quality pair. Where can i find the mars ones. http://www.marsgroomingproducts.com.au/sho...D=3&PID=808
