  1. Well she was mated on the 10th June. I'm not sure whether she will have taken because her progesterone level was 63.1 nmol on the Thursday 3.30pm and she wasn't mated until about 10.30am the following morning as they had lost her blood sample. I didn't find out the result until 11pm Thursday night by the time they had found it and processed it. It seems that the cervix closes once the progesterone gets to a certain level so I don't know what level she would have been by the next morning. Hence it's a bit of a wait and see for me.
  2. That's the problem isn't it. I'm the same. My girl seems very quiet in herself but then in this miserable cold rainy weather that is also to be expected. I usually find one of the first things I notice as well is increased appetite but my girly isn't really showing signs of that yet. Chocolate, are you expecting a litter this late in the season ??? Maybe, don't know yet. She seasoned very late this year the latest I've had a girl come in but understandably as the weather was really not autumn like until the end of May.

  4. Do her nipples look any bigger or have they gone pink? This if often one of the first physical tell tale signs.
  5. I agree with Christina. Poor girl must be feeling unwell, it is quite a shock to the system and needs recovery time. I would suggest pain relief if she isn't already on some.
  6. Hi, I know of two places that do semen collections for freezing in Perth namely Phillip Lawton at Toodyay and Applecross however Phillip is not currently doing them and I'm not sure if Applecross will be able to assist promptly enough. So does anyone know of any other vets that do semen collections for freezing in Perth? Thanks in Advance.
  7. I don't know whether repo vets are doing this in Australia but in Europe they are doing AI via the cervix several times in a row like you would do with a natural mating. So 1/2 one day then 1/2 the next day.
  8. Yes it is very annoying when you send out a promising show pup for the new owner to pet home them at 6 months when not fully mature and in a development stage. Also not aimed at the OP
  9. I think it is a great idea and hope this thread will be pinned or kept going as it would make it cheaper for everyone.
  10. All though likely arthritis in hips or spine in an old dog of this age even such a thing as anal glands being impacted can prevent a dog from get up and walking so go to the vet and get him checked out. Best of luck, I hope it is minor like anal glands need emptying.
  11. Can I get recommendations on the best additive for preventing plaque build up on teeth please. There are several on the market now, but which works best?
  12. I don't get the logic of that! Why have 10 dose vials which cause some or most of it to be wasted if there is a shortage of the vaccine? If you were a manufacturer and there is a rabies epedimic and you can't meet demand then you would forget one dose vials and get full production of the 10 dose vials. It makes sense.
  13. One thing not mentioned in this thread is the difference in the two products regarding ingredients. Big Dog omit some of the ingredients that are in Dr B's such as egg, kelp.
  14. It sounds like you have been sold an old style. There will be lots of this stock to clear. It is not up to the new regs.
  15. I exported a pup not long ago and found out that they no longer do single doses so the price has gone up considerably as once opened it has a limited shelf life. I'm not rural so was able to use a vet that deals with a few exports however there are still some vets that have single dose rabies in their cupboard so you have to ring around and find one then be willing to go to that vet for the vaccination.
  16. Wow, that was like reading war and peace! It is getting tougher and tougher to fly animals and with it comes increased costs that's for sure. It looks like my wire crates won't be accepted any longer. They have plastic trays not metal in the bottom of them and they are able to be folded down:-( I did notice the other day that the new PP40's have changed design for the better with a drip tray in the bottom and better locking. A shame they don't make bigger ones as they only take one of my dogs and I usually like my dogs to share a wire cage for companionship during the flight. Back to the drawing board as I have a Specialty coming up in March.
  17. I don't think there can ever be any justification for having a bitch whelp at a show. That is very sad indeed.
  18. I also had a lot of problems with my NFS show trolley. Wheel fell off. Bars riveted the wrong way round stopping easy foldup, lid clip that won't shut as it is out of alignment. Can't push it along when closed up as wheels hit. Etc. ETA Oh and forgot the worst thing is that the door latches open on their own when pushing the trolley and suddenly the gate swings open and dogs jump out. Very dangerous.
  19. I often notice there are ringside photographer's at the shows. Any keen people there with their cameras tomorrow?
  20. I'm looking for good quality stainless steel vet cages or the like. Anyone know of a good supplier.
  21. That is another very kind offer, thankyou very much. I need extra handlers for the little girls:-) If you can make it Washa that would be wonderful.
  22. This is my babies first show in Perth!! Not many shows over here and then they'll be up in minor come January.
  23. Hi Emery, I just Pm'd you. You are so kind to offer but I don't want to put you to any trouble if it is not your groups day.
