Are Pawpaws And Mangos Bad For Dogs?

I have pawpaw and mango trees in my yard and I just noticed Flame scoffing down a pawpaw that had dropped off the tree.

So, does anyone know if pawpaws and mangos are bad for dogs? (my mango trees havent produced fruit yet, but I'm asking in advance!)

Slice and freeze those mangos JBBB and send them to meeeeeee!

ETA: On a serious note too many would probably give them the runs.

Both my dogs eat mango but they only get a slice or two they havent had pawpaw but itll probably be ok if you dont give him to much

My Lowchen eat Mango each season, too much causes the runs but they are otherwise fine. They also eat Mulberries, cherry tomatoes and peaches when they are ripe too

Watch the Mangos if you have your own tree, the seeds are a very common cause of intestinal blockage in Mango areas.

Dogs love them, and apart from some runny poo if they over indulge the flesh is fine for them to eat, it is the seeds that are an issue.

Pawpaw is fine too.

My MS will produce a lot of anal gland liquid when he takes pawpaw or papayas. So much so that when he sits on my lap, I get a horrid stain! But pawpaw is good for constipation!

Thanks for the replies everyone. I will keep an eye out for mango seeds (if I get any mangos on the trees this year - we had floods last year and the trees never fruited).

Okay, well incase anyone wants to know, I learnt that pawpaw = explosive dioreah and no bowel control in a 15 week old puppy (who also found a pawpaw). I spent the morning cleaning her crate and the walls.

I have had no problems feeding my dogs a couple of slices of pawpaws or mangoes.
