Does anyone use the software that comes with your camera, such as DPP or Picture Style editor? I never hear mention of them but I am trying to work through a tutorial on DPP at the moment. I suspect there's alot I can do with my images to improve them if I just learnt the damn stuff that's already available.

I have used it before, it's quite effective, has curves and different styles to try out. I thought I emailed you with a pdf version of an article on instructions on how to use it that I got out of a UK mag I had?

ETA: if I didn't I know I pdf'd it to someone!

yep you did, I'm not good with stuff like this but I am finding the tutorial a bit better although there's still stuff there I've no idea what she is talking about.

For Sydney & Melb Canon owners - Digital camera warehouse is having a Canon 'night' -seems like it might be for amateurs.
