Or is there a dog mulit vitamin in TABLET form, ( I have tryed vitamins in a powdered form on her food and she wont touch it) if so what is it called and where can i buy it. My cavalier is a right royal pain in the bum to feed, to the point where she wont eat. On recomendation from vet I have put her food down for 10 mins then taken it away and offered it to her the next meal etc to the point where she did not eat a single thing for 3 days I am at the point now where Im just going to feed her what she likes to eat, and give her a suppliment for her to be getting all her nutrition I cant let her go another day without her eating..... Once they were treated they ate You could also try giving her Periactin before meals to stimulate her appetite. I guess you've probably tried all sorts of food? How old is she? She is 15 months now, she has always been fussy I took her to the vet tuesday because she is being such a cow, had bloods taken to see if she had an infection or anything because she finished her season 5 weeks ago, but it came back all clear...I have given her nothing and just offered her her food but she refuses to eat it, unless it is roasted chicken, lamb and she loves chicken necks but will eat NOTHING else. I have put a powdered vitamin on her food she will eat and then she refuses to eat that, so I have no option other then to make her take a tablet. sas Posted October 16, 2009 Share Posted October 16, 2009 That's fine, she won't die for not eating for 3 days....stand your ground, your giving in just makes her to test the boundaries harder as she knows she'll break you sooner or layer. Suppplements do nothing if the dog isn't getting balanced diet. If the dog is healthy and the Vets can find nothing wrong with her, stand your ground and communicate with your Vet about it, they can be the ones they can tell you what to do if after 2 or 4 days the dog is still refusing to eat. Chicken necks are good - she can have lots of them She looks great, has a full coat which is lovely. Her teeth are fine (I made sure the vet checked them out) she is happy, running around playing but is not eating. Honestly I am happy to give her what she wants but it is just NOT a balanced diet, which is just wrong for me to do on our part, she wont be getting everything she needs If she was to just eat the chicken necks, would she get all her nutrition and calcium etc from them and them alone? I'd be inclined to just tough it out with her. You've had her vet checked so know all is okay. Just give her a few chicken necks and toss in a little dry and if she eats it, good. Three of my girls eat a small handful of dry and a couple of necks but another needs two biggish handfuls plus the necks and she is still lean. Yes it will be, also I have been told that after she is done that she will gain weight very easily, im not sure how much truth that holds but we shall see.
