Dumb Question About Poop

I have started feeding my dog the occasional raw bone to see how he goes with it - thinking of changing over to raw and also for keeping his teeth clean. I have noticed that his poop has been white after eating the raw meat off the bone - is this normal?

No such thing as a "dumb question about poop", Lavender Girl. Knowing what your dog poops out on a daily basis is an excellent visual tool towards knowing how the insides are going and alerts you to sudden changes that might indicate your well dog isn't quite as well as usual or that your unwell dog is getting better. Understanding the poops and how they should be is necessary to be able to make a judgement call, so, as I mentioned - not a dumb question. :)

I would just make sure the poops aren't too dry. I think that means too much bone as they poop out the undigested calcium. Wasn't there a DOLer who's dog had such dry poops it was pretty much pooping dust?
