  1. Hopefully something wonderful will happen one October, to make it not just a month of grief for you Jodie xxx Thinking of you xxx fifi
  2. With the issue you are describing and the breed, I am in total agreement with Persephone & others in strongly advising you to seek proffesional advice on this behaviour & veterinary assessment. You are on the right track to seek any physiological causes, and by all means desex anyway, but I truly doubt any chance of testosterone based aggression at this age, I can only think of issues in the rearing of the litter or a pup with serious issues of the brain 'hard wiring' kind. fifi
  3. Run free little Chilli, hugs to you Indigirl. Had to do this not long ago with a rescue girl we had for a long time, its heartbreaking to watch and frightening too A heartbreaking and difficult decision fifi xxx
  4. Hope you had a wee drinkie after getting all that done Rysup !! fifi
  5. FANTASTIC Anne And such a quick turnaround for results too !! gotta love digital x-rays :D fifi
  6. Absolutley, you can just imagine the headache of it all
  7. I would wait for a while to bath a dog after mating, and especially avoid any flea rinse or medicated shampoos. If you need to shower them, just a plain soap - not Teatree or pennyroyal. As said, worming should be done before mating, not after. fifi
  8. Thank you for the update Lynai, been wondering how they were going. Look at them grow :D Just think, only a couple more weeks and sleeeep !!! fifi
  9. When I've had male rescues, they've usually been over a year old & I've had them castrated & the scrotal ablation done. Swelling is normal for a post castration scrotom left intact & it will shrivel in time.
  10. oh Beth, I'm sad to hear this. He was a funny rat, reminded me of a grumpy old fella, bitey and reclusive, and he loved his food I hope he's found his other whitey mates. fifi xxx
  11. PM member here: Wayrod, fantastic service and up to date info. fifi
  12. Snowysal has that beautiful ridgey X boy, he looks wonderful :) fifi eta have messaged Sally about this thread
  13. Just fenugreek seeds, from the Asian grocery, health food store ect :) omg they are so beautiful, and I'm still in awe of what came out of what seemed not so positive :) *snifffff* puppy breath fifi xx
  14. Yes to Fenugreek and yes, however you have to do it, you get it into them !! (shudders at the memory of hand rearing a litter on my own many years ago...three weeks...no sleep !!) I think we must be due for more piccies soon Lynai :) fifi
  15. Congrats Merrirose, I do love black whippies :D fifi
  16. :D aawwww...beautiful, I can almost smell the puppy breath !! fingers crossed now for smooth sailing, thanks for sharing the pics, hopefully milk bar will be full soon. the more they are on, the more it will flow :) fifi
  17. How are mum & bubs tonight Lynai ? (well...our night anyway !!) fifi
  18. And that being the case Ellz, why would you put the boot in when you so hate it being done to YOU ? Ellz, have you had a GIANT breed litter ? the poo output can be monumental, and if you have to separate them to have a wee nap or shower or eat, it doesn't take much for a neonate poo to be wriggled across the lot !!! Great news Lynai that the battler is looking stronger, pics please !!! fifi
  19. Yes, hopefully your girl will get the idea :D If a mum is a bit relucant I'll often hold up the 'productive' end and if they begin to clean, I say 'lick.lick..lick..lick' in a praising voice. With a bit of repitition, before long they are pretty proactive ! no-one is watching remember !!! what happens with tired breeders in the whelping box...stays in the whelping box !!) Yes Lynai...piccies :D fifi
  20. warm water with a few drops of almond oil in it, and cotton balls or very soft tissues, after each feed pick up puppy and dip the ball or tissue in the warm water, wipe towards the tail gently and repeatedly. this will stimulate regular wees & movements and you'll soon be moving on to small soft towels as the volume increases if Selah won't do it. :) fifi
  21. Just saw your updat, breeding is never boring !! wishing and sending good vibes for all to go well now for mum & bubs. I hope she has expelled any debri left, keep up the AB's :) no sleep for you for a while !! fifi
  22. might have come from hunting / pigging type mix of bull breed / dane and a sighthound mix. The wolfhound/deerhound coat can come out many X-breedings later, we have lots around here that are Bullmastiff X wolfhound x dane x whatever, and they have some of the coarsest coats to die for !!! Your boy hasn't any immediate wolfhound that I can see, just your loved X-bred :D fifi
  23. Oh shite Lynai. Sometimes it just seems the more we want it, the harder it gets. Good she's on AB's, Yes I've seen quite a few where one horn has dead & decomposing puppies & the other's have been ceasared or whelped successfully. I guess its a case of monitoring mum & the surviving bubs and the vet being really proactive. Dark blood is expected with whats happening, any colour change and straight to vet. Same goes for when the other's are born, keep puppy AB's handy just in case, and have some probiotic on hand. Sending healthy mum & bubs thoughts your way. fifi

    Atlas

 OH Cin, I just saw the name and felt ill, I didn't want to believe it was THE Atlas . Don't know what to say - what a DOL hero he was. All we can do is hug you from afar. our love & hugs, fifi, danny & hounds xxx
  25. Well done WP we have cyclone mesh around the house yard, and ringlock / pigwire / dogwire around the rest of the acreage. We have rolls of diamond mesh to put up around the dog runs when we can get to it. I'd love deer fencing around the five acres for the dogs though. fifi
