  7. I don't think the emotion is just over this one dog, but what is represented by a disposable industry & mindset. fifi
  8. yes there will always be greyhounds even if they are a rare breed in the showring. Absolutley, and look at the quality in Europe :) fifi hey we have excellent quality here too :D yes, I didn't mean that we didn't, I was thinking more of the depth of numbers as well as quality there. fifi

  10. Loved enough to be Killed you mean? Is killing a dog who cannot make you a few $$$$s anymore doing the right thing? Thats correct, the owner won't pay the trainer to train a dog that is not fast enough. What do you want ??? a trainer with with more dogs than they can affored to feed, remember the trainer would now have to pay the feed bill out of his/her own pocket, just to appease your thoughts. Here's a novel idea...scrap the bloody greyhound industry, problem on the way to solved at least in one area !
  11. Oh i can so relate to this  but mine took around 3/4 days to come back, when i saw the envelope i just thought phew i must have got mine in just in time ,.....and that sec is right on the ball doing everything ;) and talk about confused when i opened the envelope  just kept telling myself i was bloody irish    Yep...Irish AND Scottish here....express posted entries for a Royal as I had to wait until payday and was cutting it a little fine with closing date, addressed it at the PO in a hurry...and was so delighted to see an express envelope in my mailbox only two days later, wow what amazing service the EKKA must have........ Heart sinks as I look at the handwriting....MY OWN !!! the stamped self addressed envelope was of course neatly inside the package  fifi
  12. If she had not been a greyhound, it would have been just as sad that another unwanted dog was pts. owner education, desexed pets, ethical breeders who aren't default puppy farmers and no greyhound industry, would go some way to addressing the surplus. fifi
  13. but it DOES matter, no racing industry means that greyhounds don't NEED to be re-homed or shot or euthed in the first place. One less batch of unwanted dogs. fifi
  14. I still see that as unacceptable Pav, the dogs were still trained for racing and re-homed & euthed when unsuitable. Still not a dog bred, raised and homed in a loving forever home from the get-go. And yes, I feel the same about show dogs in a revovling door of 'petted out' Even if one does not work out in the showring here..it stays. fifi
  15. I find the entire greyhound and horse racing industries abhorrent. Nothing but disposable animals with the odd success story. Sorry, have witnessed both industries first hand and would dearly love to see these revovling doors of death, injury, and discarded lives stopped. I can't dress it up, its tragic & preventable fifi

What a terrible shock to find her gone. hugs from here, fifi xxx
  22. Rabbit is the only meat / carcass my dogs weren't interested in they just kept burying them and playing with them. Even when I hid a few chunks of rabbit meat in their dinner it was left. And these are dogs raised on a high portion of raw. Also make sure of your source, check that they are farmed or killed on non rabbit baiting farm areas. Hope your dogs love them :) fifi
