Checker Plate Trailer

I'm looking at a trailer made entirely of checker plate and it has no lining.

Has anyone owned one of these and what did you think of it I'm worried it will be hot for the dogs.

Current owner used it for Bullmastiffs and says it was great and stayed cool.

Any advice please as it ticks all the other boxes.

It reminds me of the hunting dog trailers.

I haven't owned one but there is a lot of weight in checker plate. I would be more concerned about my fuel consumption and wear & tear on my towing vehicle. Just my 2 cents worth....

I wold be concerned about how hot it wold be with no lining. Our tack box on the front of ours is checker plate and its hot inside it. Its seperate to the dog trailer put on afterward but having said that its got no whirly birds and its very heavy.

Yes I also would be inclined to think an unlined trailer would be like a sweat box on wheels. No insulation IMHO would be hot as inside. I know we have a storage box on the front of

our caravan that is made out of checker plate & you can't even old on to the handle of it for more than a second in the summer time, it is just boiling :)

Thanks guys this was my concern too that it would be really hot inside.

Being aluminum checker plate I wasn't too concerned about the weight.

Starting to think I should just add a tax box and crate rack to my current trailer.

Thanks for everyone's input
