Hi, could someone with the knowledge please inform of the correct adoption process - for private adoptions - from Renbury Farm? This could then be used as a reference guide for people wanting to adopt. After you have met the undesexed dog (not a puppy), and have paid the adoption fee, will you then leave it at the pound - and they get it desexed, how soon after payment will this desexing happen, how long after the operation can you take the now desexed dog home, pick up from their vet direct, or?? After meeting and paying the adoption fee-The dog will remain at the pound until the close of business hours on the final day of its mandatory impound time (7 days for non microchipped dogs, 14days for microchipped dogs).

At close of business hours it will be taken to the vets for desexing (2minute drive up the road) and you will be able to collect the dog the following day from the vets (normally after 11am). You normally receive a phone call from the vet directly to let you know your dog is ready to collect.

*They can't be vetworked until after impound time is over, owners always have the first choice of reclaiming.

---However you can go in at any stage, meet and place your name as first to buy if unclaimed.

(I can't remember the deposit system).

*Dogs deemed rescue/reclaim only: cannot be purchased by the public.

*Unless reclaim/rescue only: the public is not affected by the dog having rescue and may still purchase ahead of rescue.

---Purchase isn't processed immediately unless the dog is a surrender or past the 7-14 days waiting time.

You can collect the dog from their vet when they are cleared to leave, it's just up the rd. All paperwork is processed at the pound but the distance between the two is negligible. Discuss that with staff. They are very helpful.

Thanks for your replies. :) No, sorry, not enquiring for me, just trying to help person/people in the future - to adopt/gain more knowledge about this progress. Time is short sometimes for people to think of all the details, to fit in the time when they are able to pick up the desexed dog, not knowing how long everything might take. Sometimes the dog's time might be running out, adopters might want/need to know the whole adoption progress in a hurry, so they can commmit themselves. Hope I found the right words.

I forgot to mention- If a dog has already gone over its mandatory holding time, it will be desexed and ready to collect the day after the adopter pays the adoption fee :).
